Well I've watched all three season so far and I have to say that the first season has been the best so far. It started with a real good idea about an attractive girl getting revenge on the people that wronged her father. Just like the show "Arrow" (2012) where the lead character is crossing names of a book his father gave him, Emily is trying to ruin the people that ruined her father. Season two basically devolved into a night-time soap (with better acting) based around the trials and tribulations of the residents of "The Hamptons" (Montauk, New York to be more precise). Season three gets a little better but still has that soap feel to it. I've read some comments stating that the show is getting too complicated or confusing but I don't agree, It is a show you have to pay attention to if you want to get it but it's not that hard unless the viewer is the kind that needs their shows to be spoon-fed to them. The show really should have Emily kick more butt and Charlotte needs too stop behaving like a thirteen year old.

This show was the one that made me want to sign up on IMDb to rave about. I had some preconceived notions of what this show would be like and which demographic it would appeal to (not mine) and was not expecting to like it at all. Was I pleasantly surprised! I like the way the story is unfolding. I like that the characters are believable, aside from the fact that they are all incredibly attractive.
I'm a little surprised by the ratings so far, and haven't seen any reviews to explain them. They don't spell everything out for you, so that could put some people off. I imagine not everyone has met people who are like the characters in the show, so the characters may seem somewhat unrealistic in that sense. It is not happy, fun-loving, or trivial at all. It is serious and a bit dark - like Dexter, but without the humorous elements. It could be that it could use more narration, in order to make the lead character more relatable.
Personally, I'm a little excited to see how this story plays out and the impediments that the main character will have to face in carrying out her revenge. I am sure that as she becomes better acquainted with others, her task will become more difficult to carry out. Or will she turn out to be more of a sociopath?
My biggest concern with this series is how long the process of revenge will be drawn out. Are they intending for it to take several seasons? Will it be more swift, with the ultimate focus being the consequences of her actions or perhaps discovering an insatiable desire to create her own justice where she sees fit? I like the potential here, I suppose it will not take long to determine where they are going with the series.

Truly great show! There is mystery, love story, money, angry evil lady, and a lot of good looking people. You can not help but think, what happened, what is the big secret all those people are carrying. There are so many things going on but at the same time it is easy to follow along. You will love it. I can not see them doing more than one season, but hey you never know. This show is a mix between desperate housewives, OC, Tween Peaks, Dexter, and Harper's Island. Can not wait to see more. It has this dark feel about it but at the same time it is warm and makes you laugh at times. Also I think that the casting is excellent: Emily VanCamp - diverse; Madeleine Stowe - chillingly evil, yet you can not help to admire and respect her, Connor Paolo - funny and is going to be one of my favorite. Anyhow i hope this show does well. Watch it!

I am hooked on this show! my daughter (22) and I agree this is our favorite show on TV currently. Every week I look forward to seeing how the characters develop and who she chooses for revenge. Not at all what I expected in a pleasant way. The only thing I am not sure of is how long this show can go, does it have a set end date because a show like this reminds me of an extended mini series since it will have to finish at some point. I hope the writers have taken that into account as this show needs a conclusion to make it a perfect show. Hopefully others agree about this show so that its not cancelled before its time. I recommend everyone try to see this (and to watch the first episodes for the background)

When I watched the pilot episode, I found the series promising and I really loved it. Then, after continuing the following episodes, it took my interest. The show is dark, smart, filled with subtle humor and wise quotes. The plot is twisted, dark and tense. Each character has an interesting story, presented in a really good way. The acting is perfect and the writing is complete. Emily Van Camp who plays the main role as Emily Thorne is just amazing! I really recommend this show to anybody. It's always interesting, sometimes funny, dark, and mysterious. ABC has another thing to embark, after finishing "Desperate Housewives".
I was extremely impressed watching the pilot online. 'Revenge' has huge potential. It is based on 'The Count of Monte Cristo' by Alexandre Dumas. It usually takes me more than an episode or two to like a show but I can assure you this one will get you hooked right away. I can't wait to see how Emily/Amanda gets her revenge on each and every one of the people who destroyed her and her father's lives. How far will she go to satisfy her vengeance? Who will her next target be? Will people find out about her real intentions? These are just a few of many questions to be answered. Tune in! You do not want to miss Emily's 'Revenge'!

I generally tend to shy away from drama shows, the petty bickering, gossip, and backstabbing holds very little appeal to me. Revenge however caught my attention. A friend suggested it and I figured why not watch one episode. I now find myself looking forward to the next episode and the insights it will bring. Though the premise itself is not all that unique, the characters are excellently portrayed. The main character is an excellent blend of enough light that you root for her, but there is a distinct darkness that dwells within the her. I fear however, that this show is distinctly limited and cannot last. Overall an excellent show, though it's not a light show so don't watch it as a pick-me-up!

We all know Emily VanCamp for her girl next door roles but Revenge puts a whole new spin on her girl next door role with her devious behavior. There are so many characters with connections to her I don't know which guy(all of who are handsome) to root for because of the plan which the audience is led to believe is hers I don't know if I want it to be completed. There are so many possibilities the show could go anyway and continue to go anyway it chooses. This show is a refreshing change of pace from the average TV drama and is completely addictive. Each episode leaves you itching for the next. 2011 is the year of new TV series and many have already been cancelled and lots of the new shows are left struggling yet I have a strong feeling this series is here to stay.

I thought from the start it was going to be a great show; the cast is great, performance, but it lacks story. It is uselessly stretching the plot. I seriously can't understand even though having all proofs the protagonist is delaying her revenge and even stopping others to do so.Like the takeover of Nolcorp was totally unnecessary also when Amanda died and Emily threw the laptop containing all proofs against the Graysons and said that now her head is clear and she is deemed to destroy Conrad and Victoria and that she deviated from her path and now she does not require any proofs implying that she is going to kill them but doesn't. It circles around meaningless sub-stories and hangs the second season towards the end for more. I hope the third season should be its last.

The plot of this series has similarities to the Count of Monte Cristo story. A young girl whose life was shattered by some people and now after many years she came back to live among them only to get revenge. This series has a much darker side then it shows and it slowly progresses to the story line. Emily Van Camp did a tremendous job playing the lead and during the pilot, she manages to show a glimpse of her dark side for the episodes to come. Madeleine Stowe is typically cold-hearted and evil, and suspects Emily from the start. The Main story line focuses on these two playing a game of cat and mouse with each other, where other characters are there as well with their own agendas. I hope this series maintain its level of darkness and twists ...

What else can I say, this show is amazing. Revenge should be the standard for all other TV shows to follow.
Emily Thorn and her strong supporting cast are at the top of their games. Brilliant writing, and a deep dark mysterious story line will keep you hooked. So many sub plots and twists and turns as the story unravels it just keeps escalating. It's amazing to watch nearly every character to be deeply developed into the plot line. You never know what will happen next, and it's just pure bliss to watch.
My favorite new TV show in a long time, and I can't wait to see Emily Thorn every Wednesday. I've developed a sick demented crush for her devilish beauty.

Let's start off with what I didn't enjoy. Nolan Ross seems to be a Dues Ex Machina, seems fitting for a character that owes his success to technology. Emily Thorne looks super human off camera, but this is explained away by having ninja training, so, we are basically watching a female Batman drama and it's glorious.
What I loved. I loved seeing Amanda Clark take down an entire party. Each episode is chalk full of suspense, thrills and take downs. I loved every character, my favorite being Conrad Grayson (unexpectedly). All Actors brought their characters to life and the writing is exceptionally consistent. Every role, no matter how small brought impact and consequence. This series does not pull its punches and I loved every minute of it!
Don't pass this up for it's one of the best pieces of writing I've ever seen on television, and I can't wait to see what Mike Kelley does next.
"While seeking revenge, dig two graves - one for yourself." 9 out of 10.

I am on the beginning of the third season.. As many reviewers have already mentioned that the show started brilliantly but it has lost it's spark. We do not want Emily to take down a person involved in the incident in each episode but it would be better if the revenge actually had a logical path. Season 1 was just perfect, nothing wrong with it but then season 2 provided us with nothing new at all. Few episodes can be actually skipped and it won't matter to the plot at all. What is it with introducing new characters that are too lame to stick anyway. Whenever such a stupid character is introduced i check IMDb whether the character would stay long or it is just a guest appearance and to my relief it is temporary but then why introduce it in the first place. Season 2 was not that attractive but i won't eliminate it from the current watching list. I have a bad habit of sticking to shows that lose their touch like vampire diaries and supernatural but i don't think i will continue revenge if season 4 turns out to be disappointing. However as per ratings of each episode i must stay that season 3 has some good ones towards the end so i have my fingers crossed... The show must have an end date and a properly planned end rather than being canceled and then preparing a hasty end which is always crappy.. The entire cast is brilliant and they have build the characters well so that you can empathize from each of their point of view but it needs more story and not the same twist and turns to keep the interest alive..

I really don't understand the bad reviews, I loved the series from episode one, through to the final episode. I agree their were a few times where the series or a specific episode got a bit boring but it never lasted very long. Some shows get boring and never recover but this show stayed true to the name nearly every episode was about seeking revenge against someone who wronged Emily Van Camps character in some way. This series came along at the perfect time in my life.

Revenge has definitely lost it's shine. The first season was really good and was exciting and new. Although I did question the longevity of the show and it's potential. Then came season 2 and down a level the show progressed. Although still quite engaging while watching it, I found myself procrastinating with watching the next week's episode. Now that we have just started season 3 I have found that my care level is rather low. I find myself hoping with all hope that this is the last season as they really don't have anywhere else to go. They have backed themselves into a corner with their limiting initial idea and the many subplots they have tried to create just aren't interesting.
While the cast are talented enough, I just don't feel invested in their success or failures. Although Nolan is definitely the standout character of the show, even if he is only one of the supporting characters. I think the creators won't know when to finish this show gracefully. They will probably drag it out for as long as humanly possible. Which will be a shame as the story could have been told properly in a total of 2 seasons. Only time will tell if they finish on a highish note or let it plummet to it's demise like many other started out good, ended bad shows.

Drama, soap, entertainment? No to all of the above. Revenge was written so that we, the people of the USA, will know how the elite folks live. That includes the wealthy but mainly the media, the politicians, Hollywood, Silicon Valley, etc etc etc,
Listen and watch for the evil they do! Killing, cheating, sabotaging, etc etc etc The title of each chapter tells you what they do to hide their crimes. Even the secret cameras and the devious ways of the characters. The lying; no justice for the guilty but prison for the innocent. IT ALL HAPPENS today in their world. Who would want to live like this?....controlling people. Having power over people. But in process being miserable?
This is not fiction, it is truth of today

I rarely admit to watching this show. It's one of the trashiest, most poorly written shows on television, and it has some of the biggest plot holes and storyline issues of any series I've ever watched. Everything in the show seems designed for maximum melodrama, and it seems every storyline is written to reinforce a broadly-believed myth, misconception or stereotype. The goal with the show isn't to make people think - quite the contrary - it seems the goal is to suck people uncritically into the story so they don't have to think. It's every bit as brain dead as a daytime soap, with all the typical soap opera tropes you'll have seen a million times. Total pablum, and the utter antithesis of 'thought provoking', but for some reason I still enjoy it.

The show seems to have gotten a lot of positive reviews, but really cannot agree with them. To me it seems that revenge is just another teenage show, which leads me to question how has it gotten 8.3 stars without even having vampires in it... o_O
The idea of the show is decent enough, but it doesn't match up to the name, it really should be REVENGE, not a soap opera with teenage issues. The series is frankly a bit childish with emo themes in it. It's got the rich kids, the not rich emo dude who's angry at the privileged and pretty much the whole world except this girl etc etc. Sound familiar? It's because every teenage show has them.. It's not my cup of tea.
I did watch 5 episodes, should given up after 20 minutes of the show because that's more than enough to get the idea of what this series is about. I should add also that the main actor doesn't exactly fit the profile, she's just not believable as the "angel of death" who looks like an angel on the outside, she just looks dull. She doesn't make me believe her rage, anger.. anything.
