Beautifully shot, but also beautifully imagined.
There's a clear storyline here, and it's presented to us in the first five minutes: Sophie's journey to or from other human beings.
Sophie clearly feels trapped by expectations and by life, by human beings.
As we follow Sophie's escape through the stunning Arctic scenery with all its capriciousness, we also follow her interractions with those she meets and those from home through phonecalls. Will she reach her physical destination? Will she also reach a spot in her life where she can safely and happily connect with frinds and family?
A beautful film.

This isn't a film for someone who requires a lot of action, plot, or dialogue in their films. It's a quiet, introspective film about feeling whole and finding peace in a noisy world. I couldn't have loved it more.
This film taps into something primal and ancient, something deeper that we have lost in a modern world full of pressures, conveniences, distractions, superficiality, and noise.
The cinematography is stunning, and the talented actress has nuanced nonverbal expressions that add depth without dialogue.
My only complaint was that the English subtitles didn't work (Spanish and Dutch subtitles did.) Thankfully, there wasn't much dialogue, and several scenes were in English.

Beautiful film, beautiful scenery, really capturing the reality of hiking on your own. The silence, the routine of setting up camp and breaking it down, the happiness of finding a hut with the luxury of a real bed and a roof, the physical exhaustion, the nuisances of rain and cold, and the realisation of risk when you get lost. Although I was wondering why the main character never seems to read. When I hike on my own, books (e-books, audio-books) are my company.
Don't forget to watch the 'making of' series, which shows you so much more detail and insight onto the whole process of filming and how the crew lived the experience of hiking.

An amazing movie. It really shows the beauty of the surroundings and makes you want to go there as well. It's great how a movie with only approximately 5-10 real conversations can make you feel so much for the main character.
I came across the movie *Human Nature* on TikTok, and the trailer immediately caught my attention. As a big fan of travel and hiking films, I was especially excited to see a female protagonist. Having just returned from a hiking trip in Norway, my expectations were high.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I rented the movie for 6.99, but it didn't live up to my hopes. The nature shots are undeniably stunning and delivered exactly what I had anticipated. However, the storyline was far too shallow to be engaging. On top of that, I found the main actress difficult to watch - she was just so hard to relate to.
All in all, I think I would have enjoyed the breathtaking landscapes more if they weren't tied to such a weak plot. A missed opportunity, in my opinion.
