The Bay is a new soap opera chosen by Les Shepherd and Mariska Hartijay for NBC Public Television. Please air The Bay NBC Afternoons all over the United States and Washington DC.

The Bay bring back memories by including many soap vets from :"Days of Our Lives" - Kayla, Jack, Shawn Brady and Belle, "General Hospital" - Bobbie Spencer and Robert Scorpio, "Bold and the Beautiful " - the original Ridge and "Santa Barbara " - Mason Capwell and Lionel Lockridge. . The actors rate from excellent to outstanding and The Bay have an all-star cast of Soap Opera elites. The show and acting is superb!

Literally cringeworthy. I'm assuming they sucked up to a lot of people for these emmy's (which I've heard is how these daytime awards are given now) it really tarnished the reputation of the award. Honestly, some of the most contrived and awful acting I've ever seen. I really don't like attacking other peoples work but it's dishonest they are parading it as quality work when it's not at all.

This show seemed to have a reasonable premise in early seasons/episodes. As the seasons/episodes progressed it became more and more disjointed and unfathomable. The plot didn't thicken, it sickened. It became such that it could not be followed and was not at all comprehensible. The next failing is the acting. I don't know if they just looked for and found the worst actors on the planet or if this series just made them awful. Not only is the story line unfathomable but the actors are as fake as fake can be. It seems clear that the story line is ridiculous because the acting is so bad...or vice versa. Find another way to spend your TV time....

This serial is geared for soap opera aficionados only. Soaps are practically extinct now. This show bring back memories by including many soap vets from :"Days of Our Lives" - Kayla, Jack, Shawn Brady and Belle, "General Hospital" - Bobbie Spencer and Robert Scorpio, "Bold and the Beautiful " - the original Ridge and "Santa Barbara " - Mason Capwell and Lionel Lockridge. Episodes are 30 minutes. Acting is what you expect from a soap. This is not a Scorese film. Recommended for soap fans only.

I got as far as episode 8 and I really should have followed my instinct and stopped about half way through the first one. Trust me, it does NOT get any better. The only redeeming quality is that the episodes are mercifully short.
