Some things are hard for me to stomach, some scenes cause me discomfort but, the show overall is good, so far. Have to ignore the tom foolery and you'll enjoy it. I don't think certain people will care for much of it because it does not shy away from race. An accurate depiction if you ask me. The characters feel very real, I cant think of any character that plays any sort of noticeable role that does not feel authentic. Well, maybe the main character in a way, as everyone feels as if they are life long, born and raised in Jamaica, Jamaicans, Miller, doesn't. Wait a segundo, she was born there but!......this is a pretty good watch.

Get Millie Black is dynamic! It presents a powerful new story and a raw look at people who are rarely portrayed on television.

This is a refreshing and much needed respite from the same old plot lines and tired well worn characters played by the usual actors that Hollywood loves to return to.

So, if you're tired of seeing the same leading men being PITT against evil forces only to inevitably CRUISE to yet another resounding victory then Get Millie Black should not disappoint.

Thankfully HBO recognized that there is a hungry viewing audience that is eager to see all manner of diversity displayed on screen.

Marlin James did an excellent job transferring the authentic prose of his novels to the silver screen.

This deserves to be renewed for additional seasons. Here's hoping that it does.

Does anyone know the definition of a sleeper anymore?! Because this is it...a bona fide diamond in the rough! I just started watching this show on a whim and was whisked away into a mind-blowing crime-drama adventure! I was delighted to see the subtitles to preserve the authentic and beautiful dialect of patois, and equally shocked and taken in by the plight of the LGBTQIA+ community in a culture that is criminally hostile to them. To be honest, I was surprised this marginalized segment of people got the proper story they deserve, so that others can witness how they have to live and die at the hands of so-called humans who act as judge, jury, and executioner over them for simply living and loving as they see fit. The show is a beautifully crafted and rendered in film as it is etched on the heart. Breath-taking! The Black-led cast of Tamara Lawrence, Chyna McQueen, and Gershwin Eustache, Jr. Are magnificent! The idea of telingl each episode from the perspective of a different character is not new, but makes for fabulous story-telling! I'm hooked and will be here for the full ride!
