This movie is one of the greatest films Bangladesh has ever seen. While we were grimacing about bangla cinemas and their stupid stories, this movie just broke all barriers and took Bangladeshi films to the next level by introducing the people with the power of love..... The acting, direction, the places where the film was shooted is really worth of praise. The songs, THE SONGS were the best!....I loved this film and would appreciate if this type of films are created further. The story is great, the quality is good and the acting is superb!Chanchal and Farhana did a great job. Hope to see movies like this in the future too....

Before watching Monpura, i didn't expect a lot from it. I liked the music before the movie released. Music was fabulous. Arnob once again proved why he is considered as one of the most meritorious musicians in Banglandesh. I should tell something about the story of the movie. It was not that much memorable to me. But yes its making, sceneries were excellent. I recommend all the Bangladeshis to watch it and promote young generation to come forward for making good movies. Though there were enough room for the movie to improve it's story. Chanchal Chowdhury (as Sonai) seemed like he was acting in a drama. Farhana Mili (Pori) was mind blowing in her character. We are expecting better movies from the same director.

It's an awesome movie which presents the traditional Bengali culture. With that, it's story line is more than awesome. Cinematography, music, direction, acting...all make it a really great movie. One of the blockbuster hit movies in the Bangladeshi film history. Those who actually don't watch Bangladeshi film, it's a good starting for them. After a long time, there's a change in movie making in Bangladesh. Hats off to Giasuddin Selim, the director of the movie. While watching it, you can enjoy the natural scenario of Bangladesh. Life in the land of river has been brought in the movie. Try this. Hope, you'll enjoy watching it.

I clearly remember when I saw this movie, the hall was houseful. I was on branched. This time was pohela boishakh (2013/2014). This movie gives us lots of pain but we have lots of good memories.

This movie is undoubtedly one of the best movies in the history of Bangladeshi film industry. The story, the plot, the acting, and the cinematography were simply outstanding. This film depicts the cultural heritage of rural Bangladesh. It also highlights the social injustice that allows upper class people to exploit the poverty of the less fortunates. Certainly, love does not require any possession and it can unite two people unconditionally forever - this movie shows that truth from the rural Bangladeshi point of view.

I think, This is the best Bangali movie. I saw this movie in 2009 and i was crying when i saw. its a mind blowing Romantic movie. Chanchal acting was awesome in this movie. overall, It's the best Bangla movie I have ever seen. The songs were the best . Fazlur Rahman Babu sang some songs in his melodious voice. You can't imagine how natural they were. His song "Nithua Pathare" is one of my favorite song. I loved this film and would appreciate if this type of films are created further . An awesome love story that made my heart blow every second when i watched. The eternal beauty of the Bangali woman in a sari is depicted in the movie. The pleats are not once misplaced nor is her "kajol" smudged. The work of the camera in bringing in the effects of sun and rain is commendable . The songs, which were already a big hit in Dhaka before the movie was released, added to the film's overall aesthetic quality.

This movie didn't bored me even for a bit. Its authentic acting and flawless expression of every actor is really impressive. Best Romantic tragedy movie ever. Monpura can not be out of list of the best film in domestic film industry. Not to mention the four National Film award in Five category. Including the best film. It is also remade in Kolkata under the name ' Achin pakhi '.

At about Mid 2008, Bangladesh went through this amazing Movie revival, Everyone literally couldn't wait for the release of this highly anticipated movie starring Chanchal and Farhana. I guess it really didn't live up to its expectations, at least to me.

To begin with the stories potential was completely lost, it was a one of a kind story but there wasn't really much of plot of character development going on. The movie was just a whole collection of one beautiful shot after another. Even though it was a love story there wasn't much of development there.

Now lets go to the good bits, the imagery and obscure dream sequence towards the end was amazing. To top it up and what has probably been the saving grace for the movie was the music. Yes Arnob's music can single handedly make yous it through this movie. the classic titles like 'jao pakhi' and shonar moina paki are still alive among the crowds.

Even then Monpura has proved a major movement for Bangldeshi Movie revival and has safely broken all records set by Bangladeshi movies in the last 50 years. This one's still going down in history. Good watch if you don't expect much

This is like a world class movie with some more Cultural thing

When the movie was released,then I was a kid. But I knew this movie's main actor Chanchal Chowdhury from my childhood. Because he (Chanchal) is the best actor of Bangladesh. He is so much skilled actor. I love his acting. So I'd watched this movie then. I've watched this movie many times after my childhood. This movie is so much beautiful and masterpiece movie.

The main actor of this movie Chanchal Chowdhury act very skillfully. He act this movie realistically. So the viewer can't understand that this was just a movie not reality. Everybody thinks that all is real.

This is one of the best movie of Bangladesh. Everyone should watch this movie.

Just like typical love story, there must be a tragic. In here, we are also facing same baseline. Sweet love, climax and tragic turn point.

Monpura Movie story telling was the best way to express a village romance which is so classic and heart touching. Each actors has done the their role perfectly and the finishing part was so heart-touching. Another revolutionary things this film has done is its songs. Each and every song is classical masterpiece which is created by Iqbal E. Kabir. I can easily say that it is one of the best romantic movie in the Dhallywood Film Industry. Director Giasuddin Selim has proved his worth for making this masterpiece movie.

Almost every romantic film has a good ending and like provides zero to none reality. This movie is a romantic tragedy film set in 2009,but i watched this at 02/03/2024,very late but I'm glad i did. Masterpiece of a story and contains a solid message for our society. I just can't express how good the songs are but gonna say one thing, the legendary folk music of Bangladesh is included here. Props to the cinematography as well and chanchal chowdhury(his first film) along with fazlur rahman babu nailed their positions. The film portrays the rural side of bangladesh impeccably in every way possible. Man, i wanna go to monpura... The plot is about a man named shonai,working as a house assistant of rich family who gets blamed for a murder which was done by the landlord's mentally impaired son. Then he was left stranded on an island named monpura just to take the blame and live far so that the police couldn't catch him. After that you'll get to experience his livelihood and see how badly his fortune shapes up in the end.

Honestly this film needs no explanation and i would prefer someone directly watching it so WATCH THIS MASTERPIECE!

Best Romantic tragedy bangla movie ever. A True Masterpiece. It has a unique Romantic sad storyline .Just like typical love story, there must be a tragic turning point, What make this move extraordinary Rememberable dialogues,Flawless Expression of every actor , strong acting, amazing locations and obviously enjoyable songs.

No weak point There, Which Can Disappointed you This movie didn't bored me even for a bit. It's not a movie to forget once , a movie to enjoy again and again.

Chanchal chowdhury great actor. Everything was lovely. Maybe, I'm in love with pori's acting in this movie.

The story and screenplay of the movie is awesome. Story is great, acting of Chanchal & Farhana was outstanding.I like to see this kind of movies in the future....
