Very fun and charming Spanish movie with a lot of amusement and entertainment dealing with a boarding school for boys threatened to be closed soon , where a peculiar nun is sent during the sunny summer . Carmen Machi and Paula Usero co-star in this family comedy inspired by the true story of former Real Madrid soccer player Valdo. This is set in the summer of 1994, at which time Sister Marina, a very unique nun , is sent to El Parral, an orphanage that is about to close. This place is full of rebellious, foul-mouthed and talkative orphans who spend their summers with nothing to do at the orphanage , until sister Mariana decides to set up a soccer team. Even though the kids welcome Marina with all kinds of pranks and jokes , they will -step by step- , become something very close to the family they never had .
This attractive , warming story contains soccer sports , emotion, excitement galore, entertainment and lots of fun. Following the hard preparatives of a motley team formed by naive footballers preparing a competing soccer match and the final tournament. It is family film, even though preadolescents appearing are usually smoking , that out of every three words they say , swear words , profanities and they can't stop thinking about making love . It would be better to rate it as a movie for people over 16 years of age, or PG (Parents Guide). Stars Carmen Machi who gives a stunning acting , as usual , here a good-natured nun who teaches, drives the bus and becomes the football trainer. Machi is one of the best Spanish actresses , as Cinema as Television, with penchant for comedy genre, such as: "8 apellidos vascos, 8 apellidos catalanes , Que se mueran los feos, Descongelate , Un rey en la Habana, Perdieron el Norte , Mi Gran Noche , Vilaviciosa de al lado, La Tribu , Thi Mai Rumbo a Vietnam , Perdiendo el Este , Kamikaze , Lo nunca visto" , among others . The charming roles and vibrant script use bewildering incidents to give us an intimate flick and that keeps you entertained for the almost 110 minutes of duration . This is an inspiring, refreshing and simple Good feel Movie with a great and first-class supporting cast such as Nuria Gonzalez (Los Serrano), Pablo Chiapella (La que se avecina), Manolo Solo (Tarde para la ira). And of course , special mention for the veteran and well-known actress Carmen Machi , as the stiff, resourceful , sympathetic and very unorthodox nun, as she gives a real recital .
The director Robert Bueso (in his second film , his debut was La Banda) said that from the first moment he knew that it was a story with a lot of spirit, a lot of heart and that it had enough values to create a fiction from there .
