God Loves the Green Bay Packers

"Green and Gold" is an absolute masterpiece that struck a deeply personal chord with me. Growing up on a small farm in the heart of Wisconsin, I was immediately transported back to my childhood-the golden fields, crisp autumn air, and the quiet resilience of rural life. The film's setting was breathtakingly authentic, but what truly captivated me was its soul-stirring story. It wasn't just nostalgia that made me love this film-it was the depth of emotion, the raw honesty of the characters, and the way it beautifully captured the struggles, sacrifices, and triumphs of life in rural Wisconsin.

I came in expecting a heartfelt indie film, but what I got was so much more. The storytelling was exquisite, weaving moments of joy, heartbreak, and hope in a way that felt incredibly real. By the time the credits rolled, I was in tears-overcome by the sheer beauty of a film that not only honored the place I call home but also exceeded every expectation I had. "Green and Gold" is more than a film; it's an experience, a love letter to the Midwest, and one of the most moving pieces of cinema I've ever had the privilege of watching.*

I felt like this movie was a fun idea but just not well executed. The actors did a fine job, but the story wasn't very cohesive and felt forced. The constant Packers references were a little over the top and the story line with the daughter and the singer didn't seem to serve any purpose or have any real consequences or effects on the characters. The family dynamics didn't feel rooted in reality and the constant dialog about the purity of farming felt pandering and overdone. Farming is a modern science and I feel like this movie doesn't treat it as such. Again, I like the idea and the actors did fine, but this movie was a big miss for me.

We saw it in theaters tonight and I know I'm biased being from Wisconsin and being a die hard Packer fan myself but I believe anyone could love this film regardless of who you root for! Just a great film overall and tugs at every one of your heart strings and the acting was superb for an independent film. It helps shed light on other perspectives in different peoples life's. The ending to the movie we thought was perfect and helps bring the whole movie together and leaves you feeling like you have more faith in humanity to come together when you're at lowest in life. Great film and story. We will definitely watch again. Go Pack!

This was an incredible movie from start to finish. It was obvious that the filmmakers and actors were on the same page about making it a touching, home grown, funny, and moving film. The themes throughout the film were what we all need right now, reminding us where we came from and informs where we are going. It felt like an instant classic and shines a light on a part of this country that is easy to gloss over. The movie ties faith, football, and farming all into one beautiful story. The acting was also incredible, from the big names of Craig T Nelson, to new up and coming actors like Madison Lawlor, each scene was shot and acted really well. One of the best movies I've ever seen!

If you go in with the right mindset I think you would really enjoy it.

Really good human story, no agenda, no CGI or car crashes, just a story about an old school farmer who is threatened with foreclosure.

They weave a little mid-90's Packers in there (Favre, Sterling Sharpe, Reggie White, etc) but it's far from a Packers movie.

All filmed in Door County, Wisconsin, it's a beautiful depiction of life in a family farm.

I'm sure some will see it as hokey, but I really liked the human aspect of it.

Craig T Nelson does a nice job, the scenery and setting is classic rural Wisconsin. Great visuals, and the ending is heart warming!
