Great but not perfect

The 1st season was too much fiction than actual history and most of it was a wierd copy past of "Uyanis buyuk selcuklu". The drama made in Uyanis made more sens to me and it was way more interesting and created so much of suspens until the finale.

In the overall serie, there were so many inaccuracies. I wish they were sticking to actual history, this would have made more sens.

In particular, Erbaskan was known to be a spy/refugee among the byzantin and this is how the batlle of Manzikert started.

I wish they explained the details of how an important battle in history happened.

Same thing for Sulayman and Qavurt, things in history were quite different.

Alright

This show got up to a good start. However after episode 7 it started getting repetitive. First and foremost I want to say that this show looks amazing. The way it is shot and everything about the sets are amazing. The music and the costumes all immerse you in the world.

Secondly, the characters, more specifically the ALPS, are the most annoying and useful characters in the show. They did not need to be there and could have been replaced by alp arslan brothers or something else. Nothing made me care for them and I skipped there bits.

They went away from history which is fine but these Turkish shows always glamorise the hero. They make other characters bad to make the hero look very good. Alp arslan has the front line and no one else. It is annoying that no one else is built up and developed.

The ending was good I liked it. But would have been better if I didn't have to spend 27 episodes, all nearly 2 hours and 30 minutes long finishing it. With a lot of them just useless and filler plots.

Alright.

Good show but needs work

The acting, set design and dialogs are great. The only thing that needs work is the story. The characters are often too one dimensional and they just tell you the plotline with words instead of revealing it to the viewer gradually. If it wasn't for baric and fehriye I probably wouldn't watch it cuz the story isn't that interesting.

Don't Miss That Series Guys!

I'm a big fan of the Turkish Islamic series and I have also watched Its sequel, "The Great Seljuks" that was superb enough. I was excited to start the Alparslan: Great Seljuk series and after watching the first 3 episodes, It won my heart.

The plot, storytelling, cinematography, world-building, characters, indeed each and everything is too good about this series.

One thing that I like the most is the fighting sequences. I appreciate the fights of both sequel and prequel of the Seljuk series. The direction is superb and the selection of cast is best. I love the character of Alparslan. He is too good in this role and I'm happy to watch my favorite Nizam-al Mulk once again fighting with two axes. Don't Miss That Series Guys!

Good

"Alparslan Büyük Selçuklu" offers an engaging yet highly fictionalized portrayal of the era. While the series succeeds in delivering captivating drama and intense action sequences, it leans more towards fantasy than historical accuracy. The characterization is notably skewed, with Christians often depicted as naive or silly, while Turks are portrayed as exceptionally intelligent and strategic. This binary presentation oversimplifies the complex historical dynamics between these groups. There is a confusion between Catholics andd\ Orthodox Christians. Despite these issues, the show's production quality is impressive, with stunning visuals and strong performances by the cast. The costumes, again the army's uniforms are not of the Byzantine times, and set designs effectively immerse viewers in the period, though the narrative liberties taken might frustrate those seeking an authentic historical recounting. Overall, "Alparslan Büyük Selçuklu" is entertaining but should be approached with a critical mind regarding its historical content.

How to get better

Here are some tips how turks can get better at historical dramas.

1. Bad characters are flat. They are just bad. Their character, religion, believes and ambitions are just bad. They have to be grey and also worst defeating. There is one exception. There is always a women, who they convert and marry. The writers have european women complex. They want to justify why they married european women in real life. Otherwise it doesn't make sense.

2. you can't make all dialogs like a parental advice.

3. What makes battles great is not slashing. You have to tell the strategy, ambush, tactics. We have to root for the strategy to work.

4. The hero's they create are born great and are never wrong. They don't need any advice or help or to work together. A true hero would loose hundred times but stand up again until he succeeds. Train like crazy. Work day&night. This would be good role model. Their heros are just lazy and arrogant.

5. all plot branches need consideration. You have to assign for every branch a writer, who thinks about why the character (bad/good) do certain things. Their realistic ambition, which actually makes sense.

6 l. Details make movies great. Make every scene count. For example if you let a character forge a sword; don't just put all characters there; put a story behind it. Like trying to make a sword for his sultan but fails to make it great. Tell a story about why does he fail, how can he get better. Thorough his spies he gets the info and they win the wars. Side story of a side story but you let the audience care about the how a sword is forged; and hire experts to make it realistic and interesting.

7. make it shorter and better, less slow motion and glaring at each other.

Tbh, this show has a better budget and is little better than other turkish historical drama. Compared to destan this has a better set. Destan has better actors and idea but low budget and more amateur.

Disgusting!

Severe procrastination with events disgusts the viewer, especially about Buzan. The director is trying to delay events in any way in order to have many episodes of the series. I don't know, should there be 100 episodes for the series to be great? Turkish series would be great if they try not to extend events to get a lot of episodes!

Extraordinary Performance

The episode from the very first beginning keeps to entertain. The dialogue deliverance was sharp with sound changing it was perfect. The best thing I found was the plot, each scenario presented a unique story with emotional connection and the fighting scenes were great particularly bones being crashed. The ending made me curious and anxious for the next episode.

The forgotten hero of Islam

Baris has skillfully played the role of Muhammad Alp Arslan, the sultan who captured the Byzantine emperor alive (first time in the history) and defeated his 100,000 troops with a few thousand Turkish troops. Emere Konek is the best director, of course, like Mehmet Bozdag.

An Epic worth a 10 rating

This is a historical series worth watching. My heart beats faster at every episode. It's really captivating. The shooting is very clear, cinematography, settings, costume, soundtrack and most of all the entire cast is just so good. Baris Arduc as Alparslan is just perfect. He portrays the character well. Lots of bravery, fierceness and honor. The plot moves along quickly and so far I'm thankful that there is less women jealousy than shown in Ertugrul series. Hopefully the script won't lose focus on the political events, wars and conquers and Alparslan's rule.

The best TV series of this year!

This is a large-scale historical series. It was shot very beautifully. Excellent staging of battle scenes, bright costumes. Wonderful and talented acting of all the characters. Especially the actor who plays the main role - Baris Arduc.
