This was a ok finale but I prefer the last movie over this one. This movie didn't have great songs and didn't give its story to us in a great way. The jokes were pretty lame as well. When I heard this wasn't going to be a full musical like the last movie I was hoping that they would have brought back some of the great humor but found it pretty lacking. The scene in the church was probably the best comedy bit but there was a bit too much seriousness in most scenes. The fact Nathan never even got to say his tagline 'Brutal' was pretty disappointing in the least because there was Just sooo many times just that one word could have been uttered and it probably would have got a laugh out of me but no. They needed to keep everything semi-serious just not there comedy which they kept pretty basic... although there was a 'Plug' joke that got me.
The story on the other hand was alright, I liked how all the characters were used and the cameos. The entire series wasn't really strong in this category, in fact it was pretty much a major joke until it wasn't. That said the revenge story of the last movie was much better, but taking this story as serious as they did may have been a mistake. Oh well, at least 'The Fans' got what they wanted hopefully, it was a love letter to those that kept the show alive after all as its pretty apparent they read their fan-sites.

Ten years after the phenomenal "The Doomstar Requiem" comes the sequel "Army of the Doomstar", this time as a feature-length animated film. All the technical aspects of the series we loved are here again, everything is apparently the same as it was, except for the most important - humor. Not that this isn't hilariously funny, but it's not even mildly entertaining. One big nothing dragged out for almost an hour and a half, with characters rendered pathetic, rare and failed attempts at humor, and without a single catchy track. Not only is there nothing memorable, but it is so boring that I did not manage to watch it all at once. Shame.
5/10.

Judging by the other reviews, it seems like fans really just wanted more Metalocalypse. That's great, but after binging the series, I really did want to know what it was all about. The production value here was miles above any in the series. At first ir seemed odd to have less metal in Metalocalypse, but the music was honestly amazing. It truly felt epic, which is how a finale should feel. And the art? Oh my God, the art. Those backgrounds were absolutely beautiful, and I'm a sucker for a beautiful, bloody apocalypse - reminds me of my dreams. People have noted the comedy was lackluster, which may be true, as I don't really remember much about the jokes, but the rest of it left a mark ans I found the whole thing a lot of fun.
It is a mark set to inflate the entirety of the journey
the introduced representative depth of character is a leap forward towards distinctive future of the entire series.
Character development, psychological realism perpetuating the notion of dramatic progression into the unknown.
Truly desired by the fans and the perceptive crowd.
One of the standout aspects of Army of the Doomstar is its stunning animation. The visuals are beautifully crafted, with intricate details in each character and their surroundings. The dark and gritty atmosphere perfectly complements the heavy metal theme and adds an extra layer of immersion to the viewing experience.

I loved the tv series. Seasons 1 to 3 in particular I've probably seen at least 4 to 5 times each. However if you're here for a laugh you won't find it in this. It's just the "lore" of the doomstar and anything else which I feel was better when it was in the background. I'll admit this was WAY better than the "musical" ego trip they put together but this is still not very good. Maybe a die hard fan who has no sense of humor will love it. At least this was better than the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie that came out recently.
I liked it better when the series was about out of touch rockstars. Getting plastic surgery, why it's dangerous to date fans or trying to get back to their roots are three that come to mind. The episodes were mostly short but because of that we craved more. Compare that to the 4th season of The Twilight Zone where the episodes doubled in length and some of them were extremely difficult to get through.
The art style was very hit or miss. The final battle was trash. This was a great idea on paper but perhaps it was the best they could do with their budget. I found myself constantly getting bored as the story struggled to keep me involved. I love how spiteful Nathan is to the fans telling them where to go in the beginning too. This is full of boring cliches and I didn't enjoy it at all to the point I wish this was never made.
Either way. If there is little to no humor and just the "lore" it honestly that's like if half the band didn't show up to play a concert. Yeahhh pickles and toki showed up!
