She travels to Cúcuta where Doctor Venancio diagnoses her with uterine cancer; To prevent the disease from progressing, part of her reproductive system must be removed in surgery, which indicates that she will never be able to have children. In the middle of the surgery Carmentea unfolds and visits a shaman who returns her with the mission of healing and caring for people.

Socorro, a strange woman, arrives at Carmentea's house who says she was sent from the top of the mountain by María Lionza to serve her. Carmentea lets her stay until she accomplishes her mission. Omar disagrees with letting a stranger stay in the house, but he has no choice but to respect his wife's decision. What will this woman's plans be?

Carmentea throws Omar out of the house since he had a son with one of his servants from María Lionza. She learns that the entire town knew about it including her friend Petra. This leaves her disappointed and decides to travel for a while. What will be the end of Carmen Teresa Aguirre's life?
