No no no..

When I watched the trailer, I just said 'that looks fantastic and I have to watch immediately' and yes today I watched the first episode, I can say only 'disappointment'. First of all, Deniz Pinar is so beautiful and I like her face. Acting skill is open to discuss ( as every actors and actresses) in first episode there are lots of mistakes.. ( this writer's blood for example, come on guys, what was that? Coca Cola??) i like some jokes, Uraz looks cool as usual but for first episode it didn't capture me and I don't have any intent for watching second episode. ( i hope I can give a chance) also i dont understand this type of story. I mean why? Anyway, story looks so familiar, for first episode characterizations are avarege, there is nothing for cinematography yet ( I can not say 'woow look at this scene'). If I continue to watch, I will update my review.

It's painful.

One of the top 5 worst turkish mini series ever, in my book fever dream is the only thing that can be said. Embarrassing cast and even terrible acting bad effect bad dialog and editing. I'm really not usually this critical, but the script reads like a first draft of a high school screenwriting project. This is what happens when you have bad writing, directors who are out of their depth. Just ... wow The performances are some of the worst ever I don't know who told the actress she needs to stuck out her tongue every five minutes roll her eyes and laugh to convince us that she's a psycho cause that's definitely didn't work It looks like a snl joker skit although even the skit would've turned out way more realistic and convincing than whatever the hell pinar deniz's doing.

It didn't happen...

It didn't happen. Unfortunately, Turkish TV series always fall under the bar. It is impossible to get used to bad and fake acting. Bad adaptation of the imitation script is the other negative thing.

Please don't waste your time and money on such fake serials. Do little but do it yourself. Even the extras are bad. Why why why? Does Disney have a lot of money?

Maybe it would be helpful to send the actor and director somewhere for training. What are those fake conversations between the driver and the woman? The leading actress is unfortunately a disaster..Sorry for the truth. Maybe that can help...

The best in Disney originals

I found my kind of thriller at last! This was the best in Disney originals.

First episode was kind of a meeting. But at first scene Yasemin Derin grabs your attention. Very successful first scene. A psycho or not you understand Yasemin. I don't mean that you find her right or something but you get her. You get her way of thinking. Interactions with people are foreign to her. She samples each interaction and tries to understand what that means to her. I loved the scenes she tastes emotions. Yes she behaves them as if they are something to be tastes or tested.

I loved Yasemin and Ahmet relationship. You really nailed it. Waiting for the next season.

What was that?!!

A cheap copy of Killing Eve with unbearable hetero leads who have zero chemistry.

The murder scenes are almost comical in their ridiculousness, The lead Actress Pinar Deniz with her mediocre acting skills had the nerve to literally Copy Jodie Comer's whole flow. Word for word. Bar for bar. Like???

And she did it in the most terrible way i couldn't help but cringe watching her.

Tolga tekin and Sebnem were the only good actors in the show the male lead meh he didn't have that many scenes to decide to be honest.

The writer hakan bonmo needs to stop copying and recycling film and tv shows and to try and copy Killing Eve and in that horrendous boring way i'm really offended.

"Aktris" is exhilarating!

The 1st season of Aktris was exhilarating! The story was very thrilling, always keeping you on the edge of your seat, making you second guess most of the things you think you understand and the cinematography and colors were very beautiful. I'm in awe of both Hakan Bonomo and Soner Caner for their work.

Pinar Deniz as Yasemin Derin was exceptional! She forces you to almost empathize with a serial killer by making you understand her inability to grasp the concept of humanity. The journey from imitating human nature to being forced to experience it is a thrilling roller-coaster. She portrays masterfully Yasemin's constant inner war with her self about the human experience, control, morality, ethics and her struggle to differentiate good from evil. One of her finest works!

The rest of the cast was also really great! Pinar and Uraz have great harmony and I loved how Yasemin was the one free of inhibitions, fully aware of her sexuality and the "Avci" in the relationship, whereas Fatih was reserved, always at war with his mind and heart.

The duo that stole my heart though was Pinar and Tolga, Yasemin and Ahmet! Partners in crime and in life, they saved each other once and then they just never stopped being there for each other. They became family!

The dynamic between Yasemin and Ekin was also beautifully constructed!

Some other exquisite details were the art that was incorporated in the series to depict tales of the past and the music that added to the intensity and thrill of the experience!

I just hope we'll soon be hearing the renewal news, because I need to experience Yasemin Derin's new adventures!

Pinar on Aktris

This show is very different from any Turkish series I have watched. The directing, script and the amazing performance by Pinar Deniz was high quality. The writer of the show manages to write a bipolar psychopath in a very realistic way. There were certain scenes that portrayed in a very accurate way. Big credit to Pinar as she plays Yasemin as well as many "sides" of her. She is an actress with a very huge range. The emotional connection Pinar managed to capture with her acting towards the audience almost made me feel bad for a killer. I will definitely rewatch and recommend others to watch it as well. Fantastic show!

A lackluster disaster disguised as a thriller

I have rarely been this disappointed by a show. While the trailer seems to promise a Turkish version of Killing Eve mixed with Sunset Boulevard, it barely lives up to its own expectations.

The trailer sets up a tempting story straight out of female rage essays on an actress who by night becomes a vigilante. The mix of American Psycho like vibes and Hollywood-y feels was way too good to pass on. I was hooked and waited upon it for months.

What is delivered is a very boring plotline, guided by even bleaker subplots, disappointing acting performances and a finale that left me saying "thank god it's over"...

i don't understand

With all due respect to the "effort" in the first episode when the actress gets in the car and starts to squint her eyes tongue's out doing silly cringe expressions and keeps doing this all the show dose she have Tourette syndrome? She got a fly up in her nose and she's trying to get her out? Can someone explain?

I'm willing to take any explanation other than she's trying to play a psychopath character cause there's no way any director in the world would see this and go yes that's ok this is good portrayal of a psychopath character.

I'm sorry the lead playing Yasmin is a bad actress i couldn't keep watching.

Cringe and cheap copy

The trailer was already a sign for cringe actings. But I want to give chance for the serie, but no. You will just regret it. I couldn't stand even two episodes. The female main character is a cheap copy of other turkish shows Saygi (BluTV) and Fatma (Netflix). Pinar deniz overacting was so impulsive. Her gestures are not refering a psychopath, but more for mental deficiency. The script doesn't make any sense. Yasmin has not any motivation to be a killer. The given reason is just; She is a psychopath. Wow. All police stuff is also trash. The world of the show is not realistic. Lots of copied scenes of Harley Quinn and Joker.

Terrible

There is no story...irrational scenes full of ridiculous coincidences. Very bad acting, like in Flash TV series. Locations, settings, animations and even the music and sound effects are very cheap.

If it's intended to be a comedy, it is not funny. If its intended to be a crime series its pathetic.

Congratulations to the producer who managed to sell this garbage to disney plus. Disney plus is getting worse day by day in Turkey.

If you want to watch a turkish series I suggest you take a look at the TV series on national channels they are usually much better then turkish netflix/disney series.

Aktris was surprisingly great!

I was very apprehensive when I decided to give "Aktris" a try. The trailers were very promising but the Turkish film industry has disappointed me more times than not and so, having low expectations was the best way to go... And I'm happy to admit that I was proven wrong!

The story was very exciting; constantly misleading you and making you entertain the potential of different scenarios, only to prove you wrong in the end. Its best element was that although the series is about a serial killer, it is made very clear from the beginning that the character should not be sympathized with. Yasemin Derin is a cold-blooded killer that her tragic backstory in no way can be used to justify her actions. She kills out of boredom, for her own pleasure and embraces her cruelty. Murder for once is not beautified! Of course there are also some clichés in the story, but they are incorporated in a great way and the plot holes that exist are filled in various artistic ways, with the employment of sketches, famous movie references etc. Many questions are left unanswered though, which I believe are hints for future seasons.

Another great element is the cinematography. Vibrant colors, great exposure with the camera placement, assisting greatly with the feelings that need to be evoked as well as its movement, following faithfully the protagonist's moves when the latter is in distress and staying static when she is fighting her inner wars.

I admired the use of lighting the most. With the series slogan being "When all lights are on you, no one can see you", the handling of light and darkness was immaculate!

The soundtracks were excellent and enriched the experience beautifully!

The cast was also great! From the beginning it's made clear that the focus is on the protagonist and that we are supposed to follow the story through her. The actress that played Yasemin Derin, Pinar Deniz, was phenomenal! From the first minutes she conveys the character's difficulty to grasp the concept of humanity perfectly. At first she exaggerates her moves in order to help the viewer understand that Yasemin is only imitating how people are acting in order to fit in, but as the story progresses and different feelings are stirred into her, we watch her act more sincerely. My personal favorite scenes are when the focus is completely on her, when she is alone and vulnerable to her thoughts and feelings. Every emotion is depicted in her expressive eyes and I have to admit that the actress just gained a new admirer! The rest of the cast is also great, with another instant favorite character being Ahmet, Tolga Tekin, because the dynamic between him and Yasemin was very raw and emotional.

In conclusion, Aktris was a great journey, which I can't wait to continue hopefully with more seasons to come! I am quite generous with my rating but the team deserves it for the effort and thought they put in the project! I fully recommend it!

The lead is unbearable

I got curious about this show because the synopsis was intriguing not in the way that it's fresh and unpredictable, I was curious about the execution. My, my... the actress is trying too hard to portray this chill person desensitized from her emotions. Is this the best they can do? The character seems conflicted bec she's so disrespectful to people but she feels entitled that people should be nice to her. She seems to not care about her career as an actress but she is offended some people don't recognize her. MAKE UP YOUR MIND. If she's supposed to be nonchalant bec she's psycopathic, she's missing two key traits: charming and charismatic. This show is good background noise when you're doing something else nonetheless.

just NO - TOTAL WASTE

Honestly, this is easily one of the worst Turkish mini-series I've ever watched - definitely in my top 5. Watching it felt like sitting through a long, chaotic fever dream. The cast is just awkward, the acting is even worse, and the effects, dialogue, and editing are all completely off. I'm usually not this harsh, but the script honestly reads like a rough first draft from a high school film class.

This is exactly what happens when poor writing and inexperienced direction collide. It's just... wow. I'm still amazed at how bad the performances were. I have no idea who thought it was a good idea for the actress to stick her tongue out, roll her eyes, and fake-laugh every few minutes to come across as "psycho" - because it absolutely didn't work.

At times, it felt like a low-budget SNL Joker parody.

Netflix FAIL

While Netflix has been delivering some solid Turkish series in recent years, one of its latest offerings with Pinar left much to be desired, and unfortunately, a major factor in its underwhelming execution lies in the casting. Though the show had an interesting premise and plenty of potential, the choice of Pinar as the lead actress simply doesn't work, and it ends up hindering the entire experience.

To put it bluntly, Pinar's portrayal of her character feels forced and unnatural. From the very beginning, it's clear that she struggles to embody the depth and complexity the role demands. Rather than feeling like the character is alive and breathing, it often feels like Pinar is merely going through the motions - her performance lacks the necessary nuance and emotional range that could have elevated the show. When the role calls for vulnerability, intensity, or even a touch of mystery, Pinar simply doesn't pull it off convincingly. As a result, the character comes across as one-dimensional, making it difficult for viewers to connect on an emotional level.

What's even more disappointing is that the role itself had so much potential. The character could have been a strong, layered figure, someone whose journey could drive the plot forward in an engaging way. But with Pinar in the lead, this potential is lost. Rather than feeling invested in her character's growth or struggles, I found myself disengaging from the storyline, unable to care about the decisions or motivations of a protagonist that didn't feel authentic.

The chemistry between her and the supporting cast is also lackluster. Great casting should create a dynamic that pulls the audience into the world of the story, but in this case, Pinar's performance makes even the strongest performances of her co-stars feel flat. The interactions seem stiff, and the emotional stakes feel hollow. It's clear that the rest of the cast had a solid grasp of their roles, but Pinar's lack of depth keeps pulling the focus away from what could have been a more compelling narrative.

At the end of the day, casting is one of the most important aspects of bringing a show to life, and in this case, the choice of Pinar as the lead was a serious misstep. While she may be talented in other projects, this role was simply not the right fit. Her lack of emotional depth and inability to fully inhabit her character's complexity ultimately hurt the overall quality of the series. For a show that had so much potential, it's unfortunate that a poor casting choice led to a missed opportunity.

Cringe

Honestly, the trailer already screamed cringe, but I still wanted to give the show a shot. Big mistake. I seriously regret even pressing play. I couldn't even survive two full episodes - it's that bad.

The main girl feels like a cheap knockoff of characters from Saygi and Fatma. And Deniz's acting? So over-the-top it's painful to watch. Her crazy faces and weird movements didn't come off like a psychopath at all - more like someone trying way too hard and totally missing the mark.

The script makes zero sense either. Like, Yasmin's whole reason for being a killer is just... "because she's a psychopath"? That's it? No real backstory, no deeper motive? Just... wow.

And don't even get me started on the police scenes. Total joke. Nothing feels realistic - it's like they just mashed up random ideas from Harley Quinn and Joker without understanding why those characters work.

Honestly, save your time. There are way better shows out there than this mess.
