A pleasant comedic atmosphere

It is unlikely that the movie will become a great masterpiece of a comedy detective, but it is able to give an easy and unobtrusive entertainment.

This is a relaxed cartoon investigation with original and cute characters, in which the main character finds herself in the epicenter of a mysterious crime with family intrigues.

Satirical characters enhance the comedic atmosphere, sometimes it looks fake, but on the whole harmoniously support the storyline.

The plot is based on the traditional scheme of the detective genre - a closed space, a limited circle of suspects, an intrigue with unexpected twists. Despite its simplicity, the film can hold attention, but, in my opinion, the author does not always manage to maintain tension and fill the pauses with bright comedic action, which is exhausted by the finale. The film lacks fun and sharp jokes, but that's what it is.

Nevertheless, the cast of the film adequately copes with the tasks set, and despite the shortcomings of the script, their performance can cause a smile and sympathy. The cinematography and set design also deserve praise for creating an atmospheric entourage that helps the viewer immerse themselves in the story. The painting resembles the "Grand Budapest Hotel" Wes Anderson, both in style and content, although inferior in content: from the plot to the characters. The influence of the meter is obvious, such an artistic frame is rather a plus and causes favor.

The film leaves behind a pleasant aftertaste and the hope that in the future the author will be able to fill the work with more fascinating content and offer viewers more balanced and vivid plots.

Pretty Poor Mystery

"Mystery Party" is a colorful French film a la "Clue" and locked room games about a pill-popping woman who visits a remote garish mansion to discuss structural renovations but gets tangled up in murder and romance - no party as the title implies. Voices come out of nowhere; cell phones don't work; there are long-standing family feuds. Certain elements of the plot left me puzzled: the main character claims to have claustrophobia but builds a tent she enters without having a panic attack. Also, she throws pills into a fish pond (I guess to see if the pills were poisonous). Because the script mentions Agatha Christie, several of her plots came to mind, making me wonder if the dead man was really dead and also if the youngster of the family had something to do with that death. There is long nerve wracking action involving bows and arrows. I wanted to like this movie but in the end, I just couldn't and don't recommend it, pretty as it looked, colorful as it was. MAIS NON!

i dare U to guess the ending

From france...a parody of the board game clue, crossed with an agatha christie novel. Jeanne is an architect, hired by a family to remodel a house in the country. But when she arrives, she finds they have something very different in mind. She and the family must solve several riddles to survive, or.... SOMEONE ... will murder them. What is going on here? Lots of bright, vivid colors, almost animation. It's odd, but entertaining. About three quarters of the way through, it gets strange. More things are revealed, but it also gets even more confusing. Pretty rough transitions at the end. Needed to make the ending a little smoother to keep the audience involved. It's okay. Mystery and puzzle enthusiasts will dig it ...trying to guess the ending. In french with subtitles. Directed by nicolas pleskof.

A fun romp with twists and turns

I have never written an IMDB review before, but the current reviews are polarised. Of the two so far, one person gave a bad review for fish cruelty, so I felt I should show some support for this film.

The film is beautifully shot, full of fun performances, and full of fantastic set-design. The colours are vivid, the pace is fast, and the plot strange and surprising. As well as paying homage to Cluedo (or presumably the French equivalent) it also makes some obvious nods to Agatha Christie and Wes Anderson. This film is fun, inventive, and very memorable. A wholly enjoyable cinema experience.

Bien.

Jeanne, played by the excellent Alice Pol, is invited to submit a design for an unusual project at the mansion of a games empire mogul. The project is indeed unusual.

While not as slick as Ready or Not, Murder Party is 100 minutes of gentle fun, worth your time. Colourful in the literal sense, the set is pleasing on the eye, the acting is competent and the writing similar.

French cinema comedy is displayed quite nicely in Murder Party. Merci beaucoup.
