Scream Legacy is a fan film that debuted on Youtube. With fan films they can be a major plus since many are done with passion and love for the material they are based on. In this case the Scream series. Legacy is a alright film. I was not blown away by it but its better than a lot of major horror films I seen. Its about Katie Palmer who is the daughter of Sydney Prescott, being stalked by a new killer in a Ghostface mask. Bodies and blood follow.
Scream Legacy is pretty average. Its not great, its not bad. Its watchable. But for a low budget fan service film, its pretty well done for what it is.

First of all, when I first watched the trailer of that fan made movie I really enjoyed it and I was kinda hyped, because it looked really good and kinda professional. The plot of the movie was very interesting, very mysterious and kinda different than any other scream movie. The storyline was kinda well-written and everything was well-explained, however there were some major plot holes during the movie. I have to admit, the characters weren't very interesting (except, Sidney's daughter), nor well-developed and most of them were kinda annoying. The filming location of the movie was just a small town in America. The actors and actresses did a great job of portraying their characters and their acting was descent. Sadly, the opening scene wasn't really good, because it was kinda boring and not intense, at all. Also, there weren't any intense scenes nor chase scenes. The killcount wasn't really bloody and most kills were done off-screen. The killer/killers reveal (3rd act) was probably the best part of the movie, because it was definitely unpredictable and very enjoyable. Overall, it was a really good fan made movie, full of easter eggs and I would probably recommend it to any other scream fan. Last but not least, I'm definitely looking forward for a sequel...

Scream legacy is scream only in name. The reason being is all five screams are meta-slasher who Done it. This movie has no meta-references, And no discussion on who's done it, and also it has no references to other horror movies it just references the original three horror movies in the series which are scream scream 2 and scream 3. Even though scream 4 had come out it never referenced scream 4. So I don't understand why the majority of these reviews say that it is a fantastic scream movie and lives up to the franchise in the name it does not. Once again scream in name only. If you don't believe me you can watch it for yourself.
Great try but the actors acting are horrible, such wooden acting.
The sound engineering was terrible.
The one star is for the camera work and for a fun idea but it's a no from me.

A fantastic film! Really well made fan film. Wes Craven would be proud of this. I missed the opportunity to support this project on indiegogo and I will always regret that. Film creates so much suspense, chills and thrills. The love for the material is on the screen for every bit of the runtime, making this a must see for any fan of the franchise or the genre in general.
Scream:Legacy is streaming free on Youtube as of March 25th, with a commentary companion video alongside. The film is available on blu-ray as well, contact the filmmakers via the Scream:Legacy Facebook page for details.
The film, while well-crafted, is not completely without flaws, although they are minor. The cast turns in superb performances for the most part. Although at a few points in the film, the acting seemed a bit stunted or unnatural. This is mostly on the part of the actors playing law enforcement, as their delivery seemed hackneyed at times. This may stem from some of the dialog in the film being awkward or the scene trying to shoehorn in references to the first trilogy, to cement its place in the timeline.

Quite a good fan film on so many levels. Wes would be proud of this one just as much as the 2022 sequel. Looks exactly like a scream movie and you can tell this is made by horror movie lovers.
I love all the negative reviews on this site like these people were clearly expecting a Hollywood-level film. Trust me, there are some BAD fan films out there, like amateur shot with actors that have no experience. THAT is a bad fan film...
To call this a fan film is kind of wrong, I would put this up there with well-made indie films. You can clearly tell the cast and crew want to do this for a living and have solid futures in filmmaking. Sure, there are some issues here and there, but again... IT'S. A. FAN. FILM. And the fact that they made it look this good with little to no budget, is simply astounding. Like I said, these guys have a nice future in the film industry.
As far as you negative reviewers, go search some other fan films, you'll be shocked to see what you find. THEN come say this is a bad fan film lol. This blows a lot of them out of the water.
Great job Zenhouse team, you should do a part 2!

I was really surprised by this being a fan made film. I watched from start to finish and eyes 👀 glued to the screen. Well maybe in the future they'll make another one.

For a fan film, this was easily top tier! You can see the amount of love and passion that went into making this.
It has its few flaws but the good vastly outweighs the bad!

I couldn't believe this was a fan film. I heard it's from some of the same crew that did the Halloween fan film Halloween Night, so I was looking forward to checking this out and I'm glad I did!
This looks nothing like a fan film! Sure, there's a few shaky shots at times and lighting deformities, but it's not enough to ruin the movie for me. I think this crew has a bright future in filmmaking. Props to everyone involved.
Also, I won't give spoilers, but as a Scream fan I LOVED all the easter eggs and mentions throughout. It wasn't in your face, it was subtle enough that it felt real. Major props Zen House studios!

I was reading some of the bad reviews on this website and it became clear they're just haters who are trying to compare a small-budget fan film to a Hollywood film.
All things considered, this is great! Do I expect a Hollywood level film? No. But considering the small budget and limited resources, I think this group of filmmakers made something truly special and a nice love letter to the franchise. I can see the talent both in front of and behind the camera and I applaud Zenhouse Studios and crew for their efforts on this!
Keep making movies!
