Nadine Velasquez rapping needs serious help. I think mrbob-5703 is harsh calling them old fat bags. I think they all look gorgeous. I agree too much makeup (at times). I'm still watching. Sometimes new shows have rough spots but they get smoothed.
Love the Show. Im here for it, cause im an 80's baby. But it do come off alittle Cheesy with the fast and cliché scenes. It do jump all over the place at times with the Acting. But I'm here for love Eve love Brandy and Jadakiss and hip-hop. So I'm a wait it out season two better I bring it!!😂😂

But man it end just a big, mush pile of meh. I had high hopes after the first episode but those hopes were strongly squashed after the finale. I don't think the whole thing warrants a season two but if it does I highly doubt I'll watch it, unfortunately.

Okay y'all. If you don't like this show, then it probably means a few things... 1) You weren't born in the late 70s to early 80s (aka Oregon Trail Gen/Xennials) and/or 2) You don't grasp the culture or don't want to even try (the culture being the rap/hip-hop scene).
Initially I thought this would be similar to Girls 5eva. But, uh... NO. This is not a corny comedy. This is a drama with real substance. And, my Xennial self is 100% here for Eve and Brandy's rapping skills, and acting to boot.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE!

Very very very poor acting and writing. I cannot connect with the show and I've tried. The storylines are very weak and not entertaining at all. They need to cancel the rest of the first season and not show anymore.
Didn't think I would like it...but I did! Some really talented woman so glad I recorded this show. Brandy is fabulous as always. All the woman look great...while dealing with husband's and kids. I love the way this shows woman handling their business and trying. To be true to themselves!
This is my first review & many have the right to their own opinions so lemme say mine...
I feel like this could be a good show the more I watch but this first episode had me in confusion. It jumped to so many scenes, it felt like they were in a rush to tie up the ladies stories in one episode so they can get to the music & band back together scenes. I get it, four main characters and you want to give them all their time and fit in as much backstory or whatever but it's also okay to split all that up in a matter of episodes or a two-hour premiere.
I just hope the more I watch, the better it gets because the plot of the show is very interesting & attention grabbing (as is miss Brandy!)!!!

The only one with any strong acting ability is Naturi. Even then she comes off as forced but how could you not when the script is so weak and cringe worthy? Not every singer or rapper is a good actor and I think most people will give them a pass just bc they are fans of their music. Doesn't mean they can act. If that were true Ice Cube would have a Golden Globe for Are We There Yet? So desperate for ratings it's like the writers are just throwing up whatever phrases they get from black culture on social media. Everybody and their momma is a queen now. Even the title couldn't be more obviously pandering to the black demographic as it's primary source of ratings. Music is whack. Please, they give us a song like "That Chick" bc she can't say "I'm that b****h" on prime time obviously. Someone said Eve was good on the Eve show which makes it very evident they lack any background in acting/drama for that matter. Eve is one of the dopest female rappers. Just because I like her music doesn't mean I'm going to lie to myself. She is NOT a good actress. Moesha had its time and even then I thought Brandy's acting wasn't strong and the reason it was on air for so long is probably bc the supporting actors carried the show. So many people in the industry give these artists a script because it's guaranteed ratings. Not because they possess actual talent for the screen. Maybe in the studio. But not on screen. Stop pretending that your fav rapper or singer is an equally good actor when they are not. The black community is capable of producing cinema that requires intellect and insight rather than just confirming obvious hood stereotypes. Yet time and time again networks only give us a chance if we act like stereotypes. This is absolute trash. I wonder if there were even auditions. Probably just sent them all a script with their fingers crossed that Brandy and Eve would say yes. Naturi is so much better than this. I won't even comment on the other two. If you like predictable and cliché punchlines, then this is for you. If you have taste, please change the channel.

The first episode was amazing. It's like a time period, comedy, drama, musical, and satire type of show. It's good that this is an all star cast and I hope this has more seasons and episodes! Maybe where they could focus less on drama.

I want to share my thoughts (No Spoilers) on the show Queens, which premiered on ABC on Oct.19th. Yes, we have heard this story before, but this time around feels right. From the start, you begin to connect with each of the characters and their stories. The show has a good balance of light and heavy moments typical of most shows on ABC.
Viewers love underdog and second chance stories but tend to lose interest quickly with this kind of show. So I am interested in seeing how the characters and story develop, hopefully over four to eight seasons. Zahir Mcghee (show creator) has selected a funny, talented cast. The first episode took me back to the first time I watched 'Waiting to Exhale' and how that movie left me wanting more. So to see something similar in a TV series is exciting.
So far in the first episode, I felt a connection, laughed, and was left wanting to see more episodes. If you enjoy second chance stories with nostalgia and drama, I think you will like Queens.
Warning first session is 🔥 Damian Ali @TalkTeaV.

I know when a show is Good when I am not reaching for my phone. The singing and dancing is entertaining, and the storylines and acting are pretty good so much so that I am anticipating the next episode.

I did cringe at some cheesy parts, but overall I like a show that I can relate too. Beautiful women of color and the other actors/actresses are attractive as well. Nice to see familiar faces, Eve, Naturi, Brandy. Storyline and episode 1 has me interested in seeing more.

This show was really made for a younger, more urban crowd. I loved it.
One bad review that's obviously biased is tanking the ratings on this site but the show has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Give the show a try. If it's not for you then it's not for you. That don't make it bad.

Where do I begin? Musical shows never gave me a good reason to watch beyond the pilot. QUEENS is different because the pilot gave me everything: the writing is incredible and brilliant, the acting is undeniable, Brandy who plays Naomi aka Xplicit Lyrics is the one who captivated me the most with her serious gaze, threatening but also vulnerable. And then, Naturi Naughton, who balances comedy and drama so well. What's the other thing took my breath away? Music of course! I find this to be the first musical drama show which the production, the lyrics, the talents, the vocals are all connected and well executed. Unlike shows like Empire and Star, QUEENS music is not overproduced, (there is less bass thank God!) but more instruments in forefront such as flute and guitar. The lyrics are more serious and connected to the scenes. The musical talent? Eve and Brandy's flows/voices gave more authenticity. Naturi, honestly was very good, Nadine was doing well for a novice. So, there are not only actresses but real music and TV stars who reinforces the credibility of the music of the show. Way to go! I can't wait for what the next episode.
OMG so much potential so little effort! With talent like EVE and Brandy and the rest of the cast I was really hoping for something good! This show is sooooooo badly written. It will hurt your head. I think they tried too hard and failed. I guess better to try and fail than to not to try at all. Just expected better.
Ngl when I saw the trailer and hear Eve, Brandy and NATURI Naughtin we're gonna be apart of this I had to tune in~ wow the lyrics, script and nostalgia of pre- 2000 rap music- Queens is the new go-to show I wanna see! I wasn't too familiar with the 4th woman on the screen but she looks amazing as well and can act her heels off!
Just watched the pilot. I thought it would be the typical show about music without a good plot.
I like the way the Queen's were introduced. Giving their former singing backgrounds and then showing their current lifestyle was a great way to start a pilot.
I'm not going to give anything away, never mind the low rating. Judge for yourself, it was much better than I anticipated & im definitely watching it again.

This show is surprisingly pretty good! Is it the best acting? No! But there are a lot of shows with not so great acting however they are doing a great jobs with their Characters! I am not watching the show because I am looking for an Oscar worthy actor or actress. I love how the story is laid out and how funny these characters really are and sometimes, Kinda Crazy too lol. I am looking for more as this story become more told, but so far I am entertained! My only thing will be I would like for them to slow down the pace just a little bit, because it moves a little quickly.
