No comedy. Uninteresting. Weak story

Where is comedy in this comedy film?

Story is not strong, it was a chaos. The chaos & confusion that they tried to bring in the story, didnt work. Ultimately it went on to be disaster. It failed to fix audience to the seat- few scenes were boring and unwanted.

Nivin Pauly has lost the charm. He was not fit for the role. (And he has become very fat :-) ). His acting was weak Grace Antony did a great job. Amazing acting still.

Overall average film. One time watch. Can avoid if needed.

Try This!!!

I enjoyed this movie a lot. Not suitable for every audience who seeks for a comedy film. This is a different experience. I loved this cast.

Movies like this need to created in malayalam industry.

Cheap Wes Anderson imitation

This movie is an classic example of what could have been. Many situations and comedy feels forced. Nivin Pauly and Grace Anthony's characters lack chemistry. Then there are characters which make the film feel crowded and redundant. Only Vinay Forrt embodied his character properly. But the opening credit scene was nice and some scenes evoke laughter but was these are very rare. A missed opportunity and huge disappointment.

A half baked social satire. But humorous

Afterall this is a non-serious social satire. If you expect anything more than that , you'll be disappointed. I had descent amount of hope after watching the trailer. Main problem i thought was , most of the things happening in the film was not adding up. It was hard to make sense of some of the scenes. Nonetheless i would say this film was humorous. There were many laughable moments. One great things about it was the acting. Everyone especially the lead actress did a good job.

Not everyones cup of tea

KaKaKa is a good experimental comedy movie. After a long time we have a very enjoyable movie that we can watch with family and kids. As an experimental movie this is not everyones cup of tea. Laughed a lot in a long time. There's not a big or great story just a simple plot and executed well with satire comedy. All actors performed well, especially Jaffer idukki what an awesome performance. Those who love to enjoy a movie without any tension & doesn't care about the story, it's for you liked The Grand Budapest Hotel, will definitely love this experimental one from mollywood.

Funny. Boring. Mostly boring.

Ka Kaa Ka is the latest film of Ratheesh Poduval who amazed us with the brilliant "Android Kunjappan". Quite shocking to see the quality of this film as it is way lower than expected.

Nivin and Vinay Forte were carrying the entire film on their shoulders although other actors did well, nothing quite managed to be watchable. Jaffer Idukki got a role which he did with perfection but extremely boring thanks to sloppy writing.

This is a film with no story and just a string of minor events to convey a social message. What could've been a short film dragged till eternity.

The film has its moments that ll make you laugh at times but soon become monotonous with jokes that make you cringe than laugh. If not for the good actors, this would've been unwatchable.

It seems that the makers struggled to intentionally push in comedy on every scene which misfired most of the times after initial hour.

Many do call this a potential "cult" film. This definitely is a 'double barrel (2015)' reminder that not all shots do hit the target whoever makes it.

Good concept. Bad execution. Pointless film.

You'll either love it or hate it.

KKK isn't something Malayali audience are used to. If you watch it expecting a Dileep movie, you'll be disappointed.

The over dramatic storytelling makes it hilarious. Grace Antony once again proves she's probably the most talented actress of her generation. Only one scene where Joy Mathew starts crying went out of director's hands. Rest of the scenes were executed well. Maybe they could've dial down the the mannerisms of one of the hotel staff.

However, it's a really good experimental movie. It made me laugh so much.

Really, really bad.

This movie isn't even worth a decent review! Wasted opportunity.

After you've watched it you're wondering by yourself; now what was that all about? The movie is not tense, not emotional and for a comedy it is not funny enough.

Basically it is a two hour movie about nothing.

Good movie

This is not the kind of movie where you burst out laughing every 5 minutes. This is the kind of movie where you will have a constant smile/surprise throughout the run time. A good experimental movie that worked for me very well.

Though, there are several sexist jokes, including an attempted rape which they try to pass on as a casual joke. That was very weird.

Refreshing entertainer

Really enjoyed a malayalam movie after a long time. Director has created a different experience with this movie. The comedy is of a different kind and it grows on you. I am sure most people would want to watch it again and again.

Malayalam Cinema never ceases to amaze me

The story is an one-liner and nearly 80% of the screenplay is set inside a hotel. Still, the characters and their clumsiness entirely saved the movie. The dialogues are sharp and are on point. Maybe this is the first time for me to witness a movie where a movie is entirely saved by the cast and crew.

This movie would either be a let down or a comedy of errors made right but I personally felt it to be an above average movie. The current IMDb rating is too low in my opinion.

Pathetic!!

A complete disappointment 😶😶. A strong cast but the content is below average. Kudos to grace for her work but nivin has disappointed me with the script . It's been so long since he produced any hit one & currently the malayalam movie standards are very high that i doubt such kind of movies will be entertained anymore.

I thought this movie was nice because this is movie from a lovely actor " Nivin Pauly" and also produced by him so I expect more than this but. I have a lot expectations before watching this movie But I feel like this the worst movie acted by "Nivin".

Only thing this movie have some comedy scenes.. Overall " Below Average" NB " WATCH WITHOUT ANY EXPECTATIONS".

Decent Fun

Though I had few issues with couple of stretched sequences towards the end, enjoyed it mostly. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but definently mine. Liked the performances too.

Waste of time

Highly anticipated flick of Nivin Pauly turns out to be a disaster. They say its a new genre of Absurd comedy..I get it. The film itself is absurd and folks..just forget about the Comedy part😣

APPRECIABLE EXPERIMENT

The film revolves around a once-grand, now-drab hotel in Munnar, where a couple, Pavithran and Haripriya, checks-in for a jolly stay. All the hotel employees and residents seem odd from the beginning itself. Then, a theft happens there and everyone's a suspect

An enjoyable fun-ride from Ratheesh Balachandra Poduval after his family drama Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 which was released back in 2018.

The genre and theme is absolutely fresh in Malayalam cinema. Absurd Comedy from the beginning to the end. The film was watchable and enjoyable throughout but many of the absurdities which Ratheesh tried to make funny didn't workout very well instead it just bounced back as a failure. But still many of the jokes actually worked and it was really funny. What the film succeeded is in keeping a fun-chill-mood until the end. Which is a great plus-point in the film.

The performance from all the actors were incredibly enjoyable and applaudable. Especially the performance of Grace Anthony, Vinay Forrt and Jaffer Idukki.

The technical aspects were greatly impressive, inspired from The Grand Budapest Hotel and other Wes Anderson films. The frames, composition, lighting and the color grading, all made the movie look more aesthetically pleasing to the viewer and accomplished in establishing a good mood and tone for the entire film.

Overall, the film is worthy of watching and an appreciable experiment from Ratheesh Balachandra Poduval. His genre of choice is worth encouraging, it's good that he who made a film like Android Kunjappan made this flick, which means it's a pretty enormous attempt.

Director hardly worked to put people laugh but it's mostly boring

Well below average. Cant see the old entertainer Nivin. Much less than expected one, just comedy show comedies, just a below average comedy show.wasted story line and illogical one. Forced comedy. Expected much better from Nivin and crew.

Just watch the trailer once again and move on....

The trailer tries to give u a Wes Anderson vibe. N it ends there...to make a movie interesting for two and a half hours with comedy n absurdity that'll tickle ur bones is a huge baggage n they fail miserably here, with no clarity in story or what they intend to do...the lack of chemistry is clearly visible too...As u can spot, Nivin hasn't been kind to his diet and the same can be said about his lazy approach to his character here..this is a huge miss by miles..Being inspired is fine, but u should do ur homework well enough to create quality over quantity...

Hatsoff to Nivin Not For acting But For Production!!!

Type of film making is good.

Pros: 2 Main Actresses Jaffer Idukki That Manager Guy Sudheesh and all other remaining hotel staffs

Cons: Nivins character and his dialogs are not matching, especially after that robbery.

The film aspires to be an out-and-out comedy but isn't a job well done! [+49%]

An absurd comedy with more misses than hits, Nivin Pauly's Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham fails to carry its initial momentum all the way through. The obvious hat-tip to Stanley Kubrick's The Shining and Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel aside, writer-director Ratheesh Poduval's film tries to be too many things but not quite getting anything right. It also frequently divulges into total randomness in the name of absurdity fetching neutral results. Some scenes, especially in the latter half, lack any sense or purpose. It becomes evident that they exist purely to amp up the noise and chaos.

Nivin has donned the "lazy, good-for-nothing" character way too many times for this one to be any surprising. It's Grace Antony who walks away with the applause here. She's ably supported by Vinay Forrt (who plays the front office manager) and Jaffer Idukki (who plays a drunkard), who come up with competent feats. Whether a full-blown absurd comedy like the ones Priyadarshan made in the '80s work for Malayali audiences (who connect better with realistic plots and performances) in 2021, is a pertinent question to ask. A not-so-distant counterpart to this film could be Vettam, another comedy of errors, but is miles ahead in its situational comedy quotient. Vettam makes us laugh our guts out even now, but I don't think Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham will have that kind of recall value.

Weak dialogs

This is a film that relies entirely on the charm of its actors. There is nothing in the script. The jokes are weak. Everything about the movie is uninspired. Nivin sleepwalks through his role. Jaffer Idukki and Joy Mathew provide some relief. Grace Anthony was inconsistent. Vincy Alocious was charming. Vinay Fort was godawful. Take the worst Srinivasan or Jagadish film of the 90s. It would still be better than this film.

First of its kind comedy movie in Malayalam

Since most of the audience expected to see a comedy movie that was going to make them laugh continuously from beginning till end, it is not surprising that they were disappointed with this movie that had hardly four or five such laughter invoking moments. But this is not like those classic Sidhique Lal and Priyadarshan comedy movies of 80's and 90's whose main purpose was to generate maximum possible laughter. Instead, this movie is actually a mix of different genres of comedy movies, some of which have been successfully executed in Hollywood and some, which have been tried out in Malayalam itself. Nivin Pauly and all the other actors fully excelled in their roles and surprisingly ensured that not even once, their characters went beyond the limits set by the screenplay. This could very well go the way of the first "Aadu" movie which too had to face massive negative feedback and bashing at first before being showered with heaps of praise. Hopefully a direct OTT release should ensure that this movie doesn't share the fate of "Aadu" in terms of total revenue.
