They had all this potential and then decided to waste it
The documentary is really great- IF the entire population of Peru consists of 96% male.
If it only consists of 95% men, the documentary loses a bit of credibility already..
BUT- if the population in Peru is about 50/50 then this might aswell have been told by Brits. Or- the title could've included "as seen only through the eyes of the male population".
The femme-washing that takes place at the end with these carefully selected female activists on the side in modern times only makes the whole movie look worse. You don't balance out biased content by last minute hop-ins. It's sad, because they could've made this into a great documentary (very nice angles and color grading). Now, it just gets boringly one sided and nigh believable.
