This film started off ok but was a let down, I am surprised because Billy and Lesley have always been fairly good actors. The storyline's good but the ending could've been better.

I'm a fan of Billy Murray. One of the best British actors at the moment. Considering he is in his '80's and still going.
The vengeance is a long time coming in this movie although I think the premise if the movie is him making it up with his daughter first before he gets down to work.
Leslie Grantham is wasted and tends to take a back seat role for most of the 74 minutes, which you could argue is short for this type of film.
It does build up, albeit slowly to a cracking ending.
Well worth a Sunday afternoon watch.

This was hard to watch. Most everyone felt sorry for themselves, bitching & whining about how bad their city has gotten but they never do or did anything about it. Don't waste your time on this 1.5 hours of self-pity BS.

Acting so bad it seems like a home movie made by your drunken uncle. This is yet another of the tragic "written, produced, directed, edited by" one guy. That one guy has no talent for any of these tasks at all. A man who is of low character, who abandoned his original family, is caled back to London when his estranged daughter is raped. The plot plods along with some of the worst editing and directing you may ever see. There are in fact lots of scenes and sounds that don't fit the movie at all, like it was patched together by someone who has no idea what a polished film would actually look like. Every scene is either listless and poorly staged, or rambling and confused. In the end I found it utterly unwatchable. How this dud actually got funded and distributed is a mystery to me.
Too many long drawn-out scenes, boring dialogs, overplayed drama and weak predictable story that doesn't satisfy at all. Amazing how this stuff is even made. To me, all it says is that the England can produce just as awful movies as the USA. And I say that with no disrespect at all. Truly bad movie.

A lackluster attempt to make an ole geezer the hero falls rather short with too much dialogue from flat characters.
Had hoped for more, but admittedly, I found myself fighting with the fast-forward during the disjointed conversations. One example is the elderly neighbor whose dialogue should have been 2 minutes, but we must endure exactly 7 minutes of her rambling.
FF to the last 15 minutes and then > NEXT.

I've never seen such a boring movie. Everything about it is just dull. No creativity. Poor acting. Predictable. Useless overall. Wasted my time watching it. I regret downloading it.
Written, produced and directed by Richard John Taylor, 'Vengeance' is the story of Eric Williams who returns to his home town after spending 27 years abroad, after his estranged daughter has been involved in a brutal attack.
Featuring two of the naughtiest boys on television, Billy Murray and the late Leslie Grantham, this production gets so much right, yet doesn't quite achieve greatness. A lot of the acting leaves something to be desired, and the thugs on display are distinctly unthreatening. Yet, the cinematography is terrific, taking in sweeping panoramas of a respectable city gone to ruin; the storyline contains some good twists, although some key moments happen too abruptly - including, sadly, the finale.
For its flaws, I really enjoyed this. There's always something magnificent about watching Murray and Grantham growling at each other in ill-gained upper-class apartments.
Released two years after Grantham's death, this was previously known as 'Acceptance' and originally made in 2012. My score is 7 out of 10.

Absolutely appalling film.
Shocking
As a father you did absolutely nothing all to get vengeance
Mad me that angry watching your pathetic actions
Getting mugged off and gripped up by 3 whoppers and a tramp
Bad film

Wasn't sure to expect from this but gave it a shot and I'm glad I did, Bill who plays Eric is perfectly cast and Lesley is brilliant too. True British Grit! I was glued right to the end.
Love to see more from this film maker.

This is my first and hopefully last review on IMBD. I've gone out of my way to create an account just to write this review. The entire movie was awful.

Full of cliches. Not much happens, just seems to wander from one drawn out scenario to the next. Acting is terrible, the so called hooligans are not believable in the least. Whatever this was supposed to be it just misses everything it might be trying to say.

The script let's this down. It's simplistic and wooden, with no depth to the characters offered. Yes, we know that rape and assault is horrible. And we know that revenge is supposed to be sweet. But this film offers nothing new, and has little to say.

Prepare to be enchanted by "Vengeance," a cinematic gem from director Richard John Taylor. Don't let the occasional low ratings deter you; this film is a testament to pure genius. It caters to the discerning viewer of British cinema, offering an escape from the mainstream allure of franchises like Avengers, Star Wars, and Titanic. With captivating performances and Taylor's visionary direction, "Vengeance" showcases the artistry that is often missing in contemporary films. Support this great British director and the revival of British cinema by experiencing the magic of "Vengeance" for yourself.

I presume the 6.9 rating is actually -6.9 !
I have a 7 year old grandson who could write a more realistic plot than this and have seen junior school plays with better acting and direction

This film is so bad I felt I had to go out of my way to rate it. Nothing happens at all and the producers think that a few ariel shots and an E-type jag will make this film amazing.
The acting was shocking, storyline was even worse and the end set up for a part two. I would rather eat my own sick than watch that film again.

Storyline is terrible and the acting even worse, do yourself a favour and watch something else.

With a cast of about half a dozen a weak predictable storyline and supporting script this starts off slowly and hardly picks up any pace .
Set in Canning Town this storyline has been done many times and much better than this sheer drivel .
Leslie Grantham plays ,well Leslie Grantham and Billy Murray is hardly stretching himself either .
Life is short and I resent that I have wasted valuable time watching this , I did give up around halfway but foolishly thought it might improve ,alas it did not .
I really am trying to think about something good to say about this and the only redeeming feature of this turkey is The End.

I love the main character from other London gangster films but the acting by everyone is shocking to say the least, even Chrissy rock is appalling.. it could have been a 30 minute film if they didn't constantly stick London Ariel views in it panning it out .. get a Harry brown vibe but it's just terribly bad lol.
