Definitely something different.

This show is definitely something different. It's like this; either you love it or you hate it. I haven't spoken to many people who just like it or think it's okay.

As for my friends and I, we think it's hilarious and unique. The animation style is like is nothing short of Seuss-esquire. If you watch a few episodes of the show, you'll see that there are no boundaries when it comes to character design. Chowder himself is some sort of little cat, Truffles is a little old lady, and I just can't tell what the heck Schnitzel is. Some characters are humanoid, some are animals, and sometimes even the food speaks! As for the voice acting, the kids are the highlight of the show. Nicky Jones (Chowder) is unbelievably talented for his age. I've never heard a child actor with as much individuality before! Sure, the gags can be a little crass, but it's a kid's show, a cartoon. Where else can you fit in a decent fart joke (or a pet fart) and get away with it? While some parts of the storyline seems a bit rushed at times, the overall outcome is absolutely worth watching.

Has Excellent Potential

Honestly this series comes from a creator who's done Grim and Spongebob. So it seems like a lot of the material is recycled. But this show reminds me of the first season of Spongebob greatly underrated. The writing seems excellent but I think they need better directors. The jokes look good but you get the feeling it could of been way funnier. Chowder himself is a funny and adorable character who is greatly voice acted but the real character who shine are Mung and Schnitzel. Seriously the voice acting is great in this show how you can make as great of character as Schnitzel(who only says Rada) is ridiculous. Mung is breath of fresh air in TV cartoons. While new cartoons are opting for a more edgy (Mr. Krabs, Kanuckles) type mentor character. Mung does a really good job of standing out he's witty, funny, and loud mouthed. Anyway it's beautifully animated has excellent potential and I hope itdoesn't get canceled before its time.

A fun show!

-Really creative with naming things after foods. -Iconic style and animation. -Stories were usually very interesting and world building was very enjoyable.

-Some gross out humor was just too much. -Some characters kinda lose their personalities in some episodes to fit the story.

My Favorite New Show...And I'm 36 Years Old!

I am a 36 year old mom who watches a lot of cartoons and kid shows (My 9 year old thinks herself Lord And Master Of The Remote). Luckily I like cartoons anyway but nothing could have prepared me for the head-over-heels way I have fallen in love with CHOWDER! Since this is a new show there isn't much I can tell you: The characters are all really weird looking (What IS Chowder anyway? A cat??? A bunny?????) and one character Schnitzel only speaks using one word: "Radda" (I don't know why this joke never worked for me with CoCo on FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS but every time Schintzel says "Radda Radda Radda!" I just fall out of my chair laughing.(For me Schnitzel is the break-through "star" of the show) Most of the story lines so far revolve around food, as Chowder is sort of an apprentice chef. And the jokes are all over the map from goofy to fart jokes to stuff I think is aimed more at the grown up audience. It feels like someone put some stuff from those old BULLWINKLE cartoons, a splash of SPONGEBOB and a tiny bit of FUTURAMA into a blender. This show has that certain type of humor that works for both kids AND grownups.

The other day my daughter was at a friend's house and I was watching CHOWDER and my husband came in and asked me why I was watching cartoons. I made him watch it and I felt totally embarrassed as I proceeded to laugh so hard that I actually cried! He didn't feel as strongly as I did about it, but he DID agree it was a "pretty good show".

I'm glad to come on here and see that I am not the only person older than 12 who enjoys this hilarious, bright, witty new show!

On A Scale Of 1 - 10 I give CHOWDER 9 Raddas!

Chowder only had 49 episodes

I have no problem with the review done on Chowder, but I question the accuracy of whoever put the data together. I am wondering why some of the voice actors get credit for over 60 episodes? Season 1 and 2 had 20 episodes, I have looked everywhere I could find information on this series, and could not find any mention of there being 60 or more episodes. Season 3 had 9, and there were 3 commercials done, adding up to 52. Are there some episodes unaccounted for and/or unaired? I love Chowder, and wish it was still on air, with new episodes... Is there some compelling reason it left us so quickly? Genius work! Mung Daal is my favorite character btw.

A Saving Grace For Cartoon Network

With shows such as Ed,Edd,& Eddy and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy becoming irrelevant on Cartoon Network, I, at the time, thought this show would be the confirmation of the death of an era. An era that saw shows like Courage the Cowardly Dog, the first 2 shows that I mentioned, and the classics Dexter's Lab and Johhny Bravo. I only just listened to the first few episodes, and it wasn't until I sat down to watch it that I realized my assumption was wrong. This show is downright hilarious. The characters are just as hilarious with Chowder being a mix of a bear, cat, and Rabbit, and Snitzel being a rock monster that only speaks "Radda,Radda." There is also the classic line "I almost had something to live for." All in all this cartoon just has style. And sadly Cartoon Network is not capitalizing on this by adding garbage shows like George of The Jungle and Johnny Test.

Best show on cartoon network (and adult swim)

About a year ago Chowder started playing on Cartoon Network and I have been a fan since day one! This show is about Chowder, a cat, bear bunny thing that is an apprentice of Mung Daal, a very old blue man. Mung is the greatest cook in the world and makes funny dishes such as Beveled eggs and Crabige cobbler. All of the food names are puns. Ex:Blutter (butter)I am 16 and not a lot of people I know watch it because they say cartoons are for kids. I really don't care because I am enjoying Chowder too much. Most of the T.V I watch are cartoons. But if you like The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack I can guarantee that you will like Chowder twice as much. This show is great for kids and also for adults. I watch it with my 6 year old sister and my 35 year old father and we all laugh until it hurts! The reason most older people watch this show is because it has a lot of adult humor but is still very appropriate for all ages. You are making a very big mistake if you are saying, "I don't watch cartoons" Because you are missing out on one of the funniest shows on T.V. Give it a chance.

Surprisingly clever and creative.

This show isn't the best CN has ever had to offer- far from it. But it's certainly unique, and even charming. The humor's not anything special, but it's not bad, either. There are a few really memorable jokes (especially the fourth wall breaks) here and there. It's all absurd, but it's smart. You can tell that thought, and a hell of a lot of creativity, went into this show. It's not really something I'd go out of my way to see, but it's light, and pleasant enough to sit through. Definitely a good series to introduce your kids to as an alternative to all the generic kiddie comedies out there.

Just A Review: Chowder

Ah Chowder. Pretty nostalgic for me as a kid. I used to love this show. But looking back at it, It's not as great as I thought it was. Chowder is about a kid named Chowder (Nicky Jones), a chef apprentice to Mung Dall (Dwight Shlutz). By the way, what the hell is a Mung? Anyway, Mung owns a catering business with his wife Truffles (Tara Strong) and Shnitzel (John Di Maggio). Who is arguably the most memorable character in the show because he only says one word, Radda. By the way, they have crazy adventures too. ORIGINALITY!! So yeah, mediocre story here. Not much here. The animation isn't that great either. Sure, it's better than other crappy shows like Problem Solverz, but still only okay at best. And they occasionally do random kinds of animation as well. CGI, claymation, etc. And while they are pretty good, it doesn't really work well considering the jokes are the average, "act like a complete moron" kind of humor. Which is another fatal flaw. Chowder, our main protagonist, IS VERY ANNOYING. Mainly because of how stupid he acts. And his voice doesn't help at all. Mung is pretty mediocre. You don't really get to know him too much. So he's pretty ignorable. Truffles can get annoying, but I found her voice pretty funny for some odd reason. I already explained Shnizel. And the only other character left is Gazpacho. He's the comedy relief. because of how nervous he always is. But he's not really that funny. So so far, it sounds like I don't like the show. But there are good qualities to it. Like the humor can sometimes be funny, and the characters, despite being okay, are very memorable. And some episodes can have a decent message. Other than that, it's very flawed, but not a bad show.

Story: 5/10 Animation: 6/10 Characters: 6/10 Overall: 5/10/Mediocre/D+

"Pepper spray! That sounds delicious!"

I remember missing this show when the first episode came on. I thought "No big deal, It's probably not that good." Don't make that assumption! I got a call from my friend telling me that it was pretty good, so I watched it. It is now one of the only things I watch on television, and I never grow tired on the jokes and over-all absurdities of the show. I also am a big fan of the voices, including the kids, and, of course, Dana Snyder of Aqua teen and Venture Brothers and John Dimaggio of Futurama and Gears of war! All I can say is, I'm a fifteen year old (I act older) who watches many adult shows, and this beats them all out! Watch it. You'll love it if you know what your getting into. The only thing I would have done differently is more references, and I'd probably screw it up or make it no longer for kids! ~Ciao~ Andrew V.

A step back to Cn grace, but not totally

Chowder is a funny show, with humor at every turn, but does it have too much humor??? Cartoon Network has have such humor shows before, most known being Ed Edd N Eddy, and Chowder and its sibling show Flapjack are following in its footsteps Chowder is sort of creepy and disturbing at times, and lacks the exact humor that got you watching Ed Edd N Eddy, but its dangerous humor levels is less severe than Flapjack So while it won't be the next Ben 10 or Ed Edd N Eddy or Lazlo, Chowder is helping CN from falling into the toon garbage pile. The positive characters would be Chowder, Snitzel and Truffles, but Mung Daal, Endive and Chesnut weaken its humor with creepyness. But Gazpacho is somewhere in between

Better than I was expecting

I like a lot of Cartoon Network cartoons, and when I heard of Chowder, I was somewhat skeptical. It looked good, but I had heard it was rubbish. Actually, Chowder isn't rubbish at all. It is the sort of show you love or hate, but I love it. It is different I agree, but what's wrong with being different? Nothing.

The animation is colourful and vibrant, and while the character designs may be unusual at first I kept reminding myself it's all part of being different. The music is also great, and the writing is witty and hilarious. The story lines are good as well, as are the characters. Again, they are not for everyone but like the show they are the sort of characters you love or hate. Personally, while they can have their corny and annoying moments I find them endearing. And the voice work is fine.

All in all, different and fun to watch. 9/10 Bethany Cox

This is awful

This is sick! Seriously, is sick. I even can't watch this after lunch. It's always showing someone's crap. They are ugly. This is not a adult and this s not a children's cartoon. It's sick. I cannot understand how someone will like that. This is amazing. This show is a crap. This is not worse than Adventure Time, but it's the same. Adventure Time is adult. This is NOT! This is a crappy children's cartoon. I cannot understand. Doesn't make any sense. He's a purple stupid kid. His voice's like a sick dog. This show attempt to be funny but is not. It's not any funny! If you like that, why? This is worse than Flappy Jack. There's no jokes.

Proof that good cartoons still exist!

I am a junior in high school, and I have been raised on cartoons. I was raised with great shows such as Ed Edd n Eddy, Rocko's Modern Life, Dexter's Laboratory, Courage, and Johnny Bravo. However, I have come to find that today's cartoons are awful. I will sometimes check out Cartoon Network to see what is playing, and I ended up with horrible dribble such as George of the Jungle, Camp Lazlo, Ben 10, Flapjack, and Johnny Test. However, my faith was resurrected when I happened to come across an interesting new show called Chowder...

Let me just say that Chowder is AWESOME! I won't tell you much about it so you can see for yourself, but let me tell you that this is a completely original and hilarious cartoon. I laugh a lot whenever I watch it. The show has an almost psychedelic element to it, which makes it fun to watch. The show has some great characters, interesting plot lines, great voices, and unique animation. I love everything about it. The story revolves around food (the main character is a chef's apprentice.) Everyone on the show has some kind of food for a name, which include Chowder, Mung-Daal, Shnitzel, Truffles, Penneni, Endive, Gorgonzola, Gespatcho, Chestnut, and Reuben. The humor is usually original and is sometimes completely twisted. Half the time I forget that the show was made for kids, because the humor can be truly appreciated by adults. It's just a great show overall.

If you feel that good 'ol cartoons are dead, this show is definitely worth a look. Who knows, maybe you'll change your mind about cartoons...

A Fun Time!

This show follows Chowder, a scatterbrained young boy who's goal is to become a master chef whilst going on wacky misadventures.

The cast of characters are extremely well-balanced: The best are Schnitzel and Gazpacho and provided many iconic, memeable lines.

This show is absolutely hilarious. I find the humor rather intelligent as it can go into meta humor when breaking the fourth wall and having subtle adult jokes, great random humor and all around just plain satirical comedy.

The animation is great as well, showing a mix of stop motion, live action, 3D and etc and the designs are colorful and fine on their own.

Chowder is a classic: It has hilarious humor, great characters and good enough animation. The stories can be lacking in a few areas especially in the last season but this is still a really good show.

Chowder is a beautiful cartoon to watch

There is one thing I feel the need to say. It is that "Chowder" is a really beautiful cartoon to watch. The reason why I said this is because I like it due to the fact that it has a really beautiful animation style, its theme song sounded gorgeous & I especially like how cute the main protagonist Chowder is for a little anthropomorphic hybrid animal culinary apprentice like himself. I even like how a lot of the characters are also named after foods & I even like how this is one of the shows on Cartoon Network that do NOT suck besides "The Amazing World Of Gumball", "Teen Titans Go", "Megas XLR", "Scaredy Squirrel", "Grojband", "Total Drama", "Steven Universe", "The Mr. Men Show", "Craig Of The Creek", "Victor & Valentino", "Steven Universe", "Class Of 3000", "6teen", "Static Shock", "Almost Naked Animals", "Sidekick", "2 Stupid Dogs", "Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron", "Ed Edd N Eddy", "Mucha Lucha", "The High Fructose Adventures Of Annoying Orange", "The Marvelous Misadventures Of Flapjack" & other shows on that channel that I like. I'm even pleased that I got a chance to see this show today.

Kicking a dead horse won't make it twitch (Read below. You'll get it)

So, in the 90's, came an original cartoon that was gross, vulgar, and plain out crazy. That is Ren and Stimpy, possibly the best true Nicktoon ever made. The vulgar humor was a first. This made it unique, and easy to watch for kids.

Come 2000, we get Invader Zim. Not bad, but not as great. Then we get Billy and Mandy, another vulgar cartoon, but this was not a good one. Then we have Spongebob trying to make vulgar humor. Did not go too well. So by the time we get to '08, we get this. And guess what kid's, it's trying to be vulgar too!

This is from the mind of C.H. Greenblat, who worked on Spongebob. "Greeeeaaaaaaaaat", Tronman said, disgusted by the thoughts (read my review). So it's about a boy/raccoon/thing named Chowder trying to be a chef. He apprentices under Mung Dahl, a legendary chef who is old and nervous of Chowder's cooking, since it usually fails. Mung has an assistant named Schnitzel, who can only say "Radda Radda". "Oh man," Tronman remarked, "That's just Hilarious". So the show goes three ways, Chowder trying to make something and failing, a competition against Endive, another chef and rival of Mung's, and finally, making chowder loving a food and over consuming it.

And that's about it. Yup. Thats all. Maybe a running gag or two but not much else. yuuuuuuup. Oh yeah, this is also vulgar. BIG FREAKING SURPRISE! But this is just another failing attempt to get Cartoon Network back to it's peak. As a 1337 would say "LULZ, Epic FAIL!!!

"Chowder" was a great show.

Hey Guys it's me RegularShow1 here again and today going to review "Chowder" a show used to be on Cartoon Network and now airs on Boomerang as of June 2, 2014. Anyway this Show was about a Cat-Bear-Rabbit thing Named Chowder who loves to eat and cook with his Cooking Master Mung Daal. You might think this show is weird at first but its very unique like the characters are named after different kids of food. My Favorite episode is "Chowder's Girl Friend" which was in season 1. "Chowder" was Created By C. H. Greenblatt who is who also the creator of the Nickelodeon "Harvey Beaks" which is an awesome show btw . Anyway this was really good show and I'm giving 10 out 10 stars. Anyway I'm going also do a review on "Harvey Beaks" maybe tomorrow or Saturday. Anyway this RegularShow1 signing off. See you.
