Great Adaptation

It was a great adaptation from the Korean version that anyone could shed a tear to. If you've seen the original then your gonna fall in love with this one, great love story that you just don't want to stop watching.

Cliché is back!

This was nothing but an lovely story, I do not care if it´s predictable, I don´t care if the plot is sort of predictable, this was so delightful!

From start to end I was caught by the story, and I think the production made such a good job by putting every single item for the blind girl, it was nice to see how she was using all the props on screen. And I´m grateful that mixed martial arts were not the center of the story.

I really enjoyed, I recommend it for those who are looking for a good love story <3.

Not an original script.

It's a new version based on movie, "Always"2011 acting by Soo ji sub and Han yoo ju. If you like this movie, highly recommend go to watch the Korean original version.

Heartwarming

I've just seen "Your Eyes Tell" and thought it was a beautifully made romance film. Our main leads Yoshitaka Yuriko and Yokohama Ryusei, were particularly charming and their chemistry conveyed naturally on-screen which was very pleasing to watch. Interestingly enough, there were a plethora of scenes in this film where Yoshitaka Yuriko resembled Han Hyo Joo, who of course starred in the original Korean version "Always".

decent, but not as good as the original

Maybe those who gave 10 rating to this movie haven't seen the original. Yes, the movie is quite good if you haven't seen the original movie. Because the story is that good. But if you have seen the original, than you will feel that the original is still better in every aspect, from the chemistry, scenes, small details, etc. But what i feel that makes the original movie unmatched is the ending. The scene from the original is indeed much more moving. Even the dog act better in korean version. But overall, this movie is still quite decent to watch. Of course, It's still better than the Turkish and Philippine remakes.

Emotionally attached

This was my first experience with a Japanese movie. I found the film's storytelling and acting very top-notch and emotionally engaging.

Whether it's through its themes of love, loss, or personal growth, the story takes you on a journey that leaves a lasting impact.

The actors deliver performances that are both believable and emotionally charged. Their ability to convey complex emotions effectively is commendable, and it's no wonder that you felt emotionally attached to the characters.

Overall, "Your eyes can tell" is an exemplary Japanese movie that excels in its storytelling and acting prowess. It successfully creates a compelling and emotionally resonant experience for the audience. If you enjoyed your first foray into Japanese cinema with this movie, I encourage you to explore more of the rich and diverse world of Japanese films, as there are many more gems waiting to be discovered.

Absolute masterpiece

Absolutely not a single flaw. Cast, plot, themes, backstories. Out of this world. I was drawn to this movie because BTS did the OST for it but this is definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen. Also, Qaz-04733, the only way your review makes sense is if you are also blind.

Just a bit better than the Turkish remake

Here we have a Japanese adaptation of a remarkable Korean romantic melodrama from 2011 called "Always, Only You". The same movie also spawned an earlier remake from Turkey which people could check out on youtube. The Turkish version is somewhat serviceable and decent, though it looked like a cheap soap opera and didn't have the same gravitas and emotional wallop of the original. The Japanese remake at first seemed to be promising but also suffers from several factors and filmmaking choices.

The lead actor chosen to play the role masterfully acted in the original by underrated thespian So Ji Sub is unfortunately not up to the job. The guy looks delicate and fragile, like someone from a k-pop group and is unconvincing as someone who dabbles in mixed martial arts. At least in the original, So Ji Sub manages a fine balancing act between that of pugilist and broken man embodied in the character of Chul Min/Jang Marcelino. No such acting frisson can be gleaned from the Japanese actor who turned out a very lackluster performance. The other person playing the lead actress, while pretty though a bit chubby, also gave a very average job.

Maybe it has to do with Japanese culture in which showing intense emotion in public is frowned upon in society but this cultural strength is a weakness in the film considering that the original movie was entirely memorable because of the unrestrained and uninhibited emotions conveyed by its two leads. In the original, Jun Hwa played by the gorgeous and stunning Han Hyo Jo gave one of the most riveting expressions of undiluted emotion onscreen while the Japanese actress merely came up with a croak and a whimper. Even the momentous ending of the original is blunted and restrained in this remake, making for an unexciting denouement. Where the film is ultimately good at is in reviving nostalgia for the original film.

Good as welll

Here we have a Japanese adaptation of the remarkable Korean romantic melodrama from 2011, Always, Only You. While the Turkish version, which is available on YouTube, offers a somewhat decent retelling, the Japanese remake brings its own unique flavor, even though it takes a different approach to the material. The Japanese film captures a distinct cultural interpretation of the original story, and though it doesn't fully replicate the intensity and emotional depth of the Korean version, it offers a fresh perspective on the narrative.

The lead actor, though different in style from So Ji Sub, brings his own charm and sensitivity to the role, which may appeal to fans who appreciate a more subtle portrayal of the character. His delicate appearance contrasts with the original's rugged depiction, providing a new layer of complexity to the role. Similarly, the actress playing the female lead brings her own interpretation to the character, adding a unique warmth to her portrayal, even though it differs from Han Hyo Joo's original performance.

The more restrained emotional expressions in the Japanese remake reflect cultural differences and create a different kind of emotional connection with the audience. While the original's raw intensity might have been captivating, the Japanese version brings a quiet, introspective beauty that resonates with those who appreciate a more understated approach to storytelling. The film succeeds in evoking nostalgia for the original while also providing something new, offering an experience that allows fans to reflect on both versions and the different emotional journeys they take us on.

cinematography is outstanding

What makes "Your Eyes Tell" particularly special is its exploration of themes such as forgiveness, acceptance, and the transformative power of love. The film does not shy away from depicting the struggles both characters face. Akari's refusal to undergo sight-restoration surgery, as she feels it would not bring back the life she lost with her parents, is a poignant testament to her acceptance of her new reality. Rui's journey is one of atonement, seeking forgiveness for the lives he destroyed as an enforcer and finding solace in his relationship with Akari.

It brings a fresh yet faithful adaptation to the original story.

A MUST WATCH MOVIE

11/10

This film significantly surpassed expectations. My initial interest stemmed from Ryusei Yokohama's involvement. However, the film's overall execution was exceptionally well-done. It was so beautiful!

My high expectations were based on enthusiastic recommendations from two close friends; however, the film did not disappoint.

I appreciate the efficient storytelling in dramas that streamline scenes and dialogue, thus enhancing character development and plot progression. This film serves as a prime example.

The actors deliver exceptional performances, perfectly embodying their respective characters and enhancing the narrative.

This film is undoubtedly a personal favorite, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a cinematic experience that rekindles their belief in love.

This is a beautiful J-remake

What a simple, but a beautiful love story! How love story can be different even when it's simple, only to found that it was remake of Korean movie Always (2011), also there's Hindi remake 'Do Lafzon ki Kahani' with Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal 👌.

The other best part of this movie is the ending title song by BTS... That's why I was not able to skip credit rolls.

Can't believe it was coincidence 😮, I chose this movie for a weekend chill-out, interested by its English title. After watching, I looked into the director's other works and wow, I had seen his 'My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday' before, and that movie hit me emotionally due to its time theme 🤧. Takahiro Miki, really adapts amazing love story movies.
