During their Consumer Electronics Show (CES) presentation last night, Naughty Dog head Neil Druckmann officially announced that The Last of Us season two will debut this coming April, exclusively on HBO and streaming on Max.

Adam Wingard's Onslaught has found its first cast member. Adria Arjona, who recently appeared opposite Glen Powell in Netflix's Hit Man, is in final negotiations to star in and executive produce the upcoming action thriller from the Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire filmmaker.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Arjona will play "a mother who falls back on a particular set of skills in order to protect her loved ones after she runs afoul of a threat that has escaped a secret military base." Additional details are being kept under wraps, although sources describe it as a "gonzo action horror thriller" in line with Wingard's earlier movies instead of his Monsterverse movies. Wingard is writing the script with frequent collaborator Simon Barrett. The duo previously collaborated on Youre Next and The Guest. Filming on the project is expected to begin later this year in New Mexico.

Xander Goldman will be appearing as a celebrity guest at the NJ Horror Con at the Edison Convention Center in Edison, New Jersey on August 18, 19, and 20th.

He will be promoting his soon to be released film “Macabre Mountain” which he starred in and produced.

Synopsis:

“Macabre Mountain follows a troubled law enforcement agent who discovers more than he ever imagined and his world gets turned upside down in West Virginia.”

Xander has been in many television programs including Master Mind of Murder, Death Walker, Expedition Unknown, and Meet Marry Murder.

He has also shared scenes in well known movies with Jason Mamoa and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in Sweet Girl; Mary Steenbergen, Kristen Stewart, and Dan Levy in Happiest Season; and Viola Davis in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Xander’s latest work was playing a detective on American Rust 2 which he also worked as a stand in for Mark Menchaca, who played Russ Langmore.

The Dcu's last proper ensemble film Justice League (2017) was arguably the biggest fumble in the previous era of the franchise.

As seen with the first iteration of the McU's Avengers in 2012, if properly executed, bringing together the greatest heroes within a universe can help meld together the franchise into an enduring powerhouse that further builds its fanbase rather than subdivides it. However, the Dcu couldn't pull it off and it has since left everything in a state of relative disarray. However, with James Gunn now taking the wheel on the future of the franchise after his own ensemble reboot The Suicide Squad (2021) was very well-received, rumors have started to float through the grapevine that the director in fact already has plans for a Justice League reboot of his own. However, per a report from Collider, Gunn has adamantly denied that any sort of project is in the works right now.

Nathan Fillion will finally get the chance to portray Green Lantern in live-action in James Gunn's upcoming film, Superman: Legacy.

According to Vanity Fair, the actor will play the Guy Gardner iteration of Green Lantern, who is known for his iconic bowl-cut haircut (which Fillion will reportedly sport in the film). Isabela Merced and Edi Gathegi have also joined the cast of Legacy as fan-favorite DC heroes Hawkgirl and Mister Terrific, respectively. The seventh movie in the Alien franchise (excluding crossovers) features a fresh cast of relative unknowns playing all-new characters. Starting with Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi horror classic, the Alien film franchise has gone through many forms and filmmakers, including its four main series installments starring Sigourney Weaver and its two prequels that saw Scott return to the helm. The Alien movies also mashed with the Predator franchise for a couple of slightly related features. Fede Álvarez directs the first straight-to-streaming entry of the Alien franchise with a standalone movie made by Disney and 20th Century Studios for Hulu, and its non-star cast makes it feel like a reboot.

The new Alien movie lacks an official name — Alien: Romulus appears to be the working title — and its plot is being kept secret. However, filming began for the project in early March 2023 with a cast of actors that began to be announced...

The newest entry into the "Alien" franchise started by Ridley Scott is coming to us from Fede Álvarez, the filmmaker who brought us 2013's "Evil Dead" and 2016's "Don't Breathe." The film, which will be released on Hulu, is set to star Cailee Spaeny. Exclusive: After playing Juliet in 20th Century’s Romeo & Juliet spin-off Rosaline, Isabela Merced and 20th Century are teaming up again on one of the studios iconic IPs. Sources tell Deadline, Merced is set to co-star opposite Cailee Spaeny in 20th Century’s new Alien movie.

Awa Studios, the content startup that develops graphic novels with the hopes of seeding larger entertainment franchises, has assembled a brain trust of prominent writers and directors who will help the company nurture original ideas across a range of platforms.

Awa Studios has enlisted Reginald Hudlin, Gregg Hurwitz, Laeta Kalogridis, Joseph Kosinski, Al Madrigal and J. Michael Straczynski to serve on the company’s Creative Council. The council’s charter is for those established players to use their experience and their connections to help Awa writer and graphic artists “unleash the full potential of their characters and stories, providing a diversity of contemporary storytelling perspectives and putting projects in the best position to be scaled across the entertainment ecosystem,” per Awa.

The company, started in 2018 with backing from investors that include James Murdoch and Elisabeth Murdoch, is focused on producing graphic novels that can then be developed as TV, film or digital media franchises.

Screen Gems has acquired the spec script Border Patrol, with genre filmmaker James Wan and Michael Clear on board to produce the project through their company Atomic Monster and Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) set to direct the film. According to Deadline, Screen Gems enjoyed their working relationship with Roberts on Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City so much that they “moved fast to land the rights” to this spec script package so they could work with him again.

The initial script for Border Patrol was written by Noah Griffith and Daniel Stewart, whose previous credits include the Netflix series Sweet Tooth, the DC Comics-inspired series Swamp Thing, and the Stephen King-inspired series The Mist. Griffith and Stewart’s script is now being rewritten by Gregg Hurwitz and Philip Eisner, the duo who wrote the Netflix film Sweet Girl.
