I REALLY LIKED THIS MOVIE, LOVE THE BRENNAN ELLIOT & AUTUMN REESER. BUT CONSIDERING IT WAS FILMED IN CANADA, THEY SHOULD HAVE REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT THE SCENE WHERE "TIA" (AUTUMN) GOES TO SEE THE ADMIRAL AND THEY LOOK OUT THE WINDOW AT THE SHIPS. THAT SCENE IS THE ARIZONA MEMORIAL & USS MISSOURI, IN HONOLULU, HAWAII. I MEAN............REALLY.
BUT OTHER THAN THAT, LOVED THE MOVIE, MOST ALL HALLMARKS ARE GREAT, ANYWAY !!!

This lame effort is saved by the appeal and the talents of the two stars, Autumn Reeser and Brennan Elliot. As always, their superior acting skills saved the day. They are very engaging with whomever they are paired with and it's about time they were paired together. I was not disappointed. i just wish they had been given a better vehicle worthy of their talents. And I got to say that "Admiral" character gave me the creeps for some reason. Also, a shout out to Christopher Russell, who played the romantic rival for Autumn's affection. He was her leading man in one of my very favorite Hallmark Romances, Midnight Masquerade.

I think of using live scenes of the gg bridge and historic lombard street of san francisco but not actual film there is wrong. Please think of the series alcatrez and how much anger the show made for fans who went to sf and found out those locations did not exist.

Considering the elements of a great cast and the theme of boating... what could go wrong? Simple, Hallmark once again has no eye for detail.
Hallmark has a way of messing up some obvious details to the point where it can spoil watching it. Note Hallmark people... when you mess up things like this, it pulls the viewer out of the movie and can just be frustrating.
Some examples:
Hallmark makes enjoyable escapist fare, but these continual goofs keep harming the viewing experience.
Hallmark has a way of messing up some obvious details to the point where it can spoil watching it. Note Hallmark people... when you mess up things like this, it pulls the viewer out of the movie and can just be frustrating.
Some examples:
- There really is a difference between sailing and managing a large motor yacht. Having the lead female suddenly become captain of a large and antique motor boat simply because she has a lot of experience sailing just would never work in the real world. These are totally different skills sets.
- The boat never went out for a shakedown cruise. It didn't appear to leave the dock until it was fully loaded with paying guests. This would never happen in real life. Note Hallmark... check with an experienced person now and then. My wife and thought that it was totally ridiculous to have the boat not go though numerous trial runs before launching for business.
- Location: You goofed up again and the fix would have been totally simple. Theoretically the boat was based around San Francisco... but nothing in the area being filmed looked remotely like the SF Bay. You had the lead character travel from Seattle down to SF to manage the boat, instead, had you reversed this, it would have worked. Having a location which looks like where it is filmed matters.
- They are starting a new business yet the lead characters keep going off for picnics and other social outings. Really? If I had owned this boat, I would have fired the lead two people and picked employees who are serious about work.
Hallmark makes enjoyable escapist fare, but these continual goofs keep harming the viewing experience.

Good movie, good plot. Although typical Hallmark, but that's not a bad thing.
One thing I kept bumping into, Autumn Reeser looked ridiculous strutting around in the captain's uniform, no realism in her role as captain, there are some actresses who could pull off portraying a woman in a man's role, but it's not Autumn. Also there was no chemistry between Reeser and Elliottt.
In spite of the problems I noted above, great job was done by all. They managed to overcome the issues and were able to created a very watchable movie.
My advice: watch the movie, it's good family film,

Great story line, but since watching the lead character on the series Arrangement, being in a Hallmark, acting with innocence, is not believable. I can't watch her on Hallmark any more. I would have loved the movie with a different female lead.
I must disagree with the other reviews. I actually enjoyed the movie. Brennan Elliott did an excellent job as well as Autumn Reeser.. I think the chemistry between them was great!
Nothing boring about this movie!
This is a delightful summer hallmark romance set in the San Francisco Bay on a vintage boat that is converted into a dinner cruise ship. The dinner cruise ship brings together long lost summer camp lovers, Tia and Jake, who were parted thanks to their educational choices...Jake went to France to train at le Cordon Bleu and Tia to give up her captioning dreams to become a lawyer in her father's firm.
Years later Tia takes a leave of absence from her law firm to captain her aunt and uncle's dinner cruise ship. She doesn't know that they have hired Jake to be their chef. The two initially have some friction but then settle in to some familiar and friendly patterns...let's just say I hope Tia finally gets that grilled cheese.
Sweet hallmark romance that was so amicable it made me smile. I appreciated that the alternative love interest was kind and kind of wonderful. A little different with a clever addition of a U. S. Navy Admiral. This was a fair summer entry for Hallmark.

'All Summer Long' was watched with mixed expectations. Have liked Autumn Reeser and Brennan Elliott (both Hallmark regulars) in other things, with Reeser being more consistent in my view. Liked the idea of the setting. Having said that, the story didn't sound that attention grabbing and most the 2019 Summer Nights films were generally not too great (apart from 'Love and Sunshine', one of the best 2019 Hallmark films, and to a lesser extent 'A Summer Romance').
While not being irredeemable, 'All Summer Long' was not too great and was actually even less attention grabbing than it already sounded. Mediocre if you will, while not being one of the worst 2019 Hallmark films. The different setting sets it apart a little bit but could have been used better and everything that happens in the film is a long way from different or refreshing. If 'All Summer Long' works for others, that's fine by me but overall it regrettably was not my cup of tea.
There are a few decent things. The production values are at least professional looking, nothing drab or garish here and did like the ship setting a lot. The music is not over-powering or too constant.
Reeser does a good job carrying the film and is suitably effervescent, did appreciate that her character wasn't too perfect and that any flaws weren't exaggerated.
However, Elliott was a lot less good. Have liked him in other Hallmark films, but here his character is too much of a wimp and Elliott comes over as very bland and not particularly comfortable. He and Reeser don't just don't have spark in their chemistry, they seem disconnected and the relationship itself felt under-cooked. The supporting cast don't really register and of the characters only Reeser's has any degree of likeability. The others don't come over as real and either don't have much personality or are annoying.
Furthermore, the script is filled with cheese overload and is very awkward sounding too often. The backing and forthing comes over as contrived and there could have been less of it. The story is very flimsy in the first place and also suffers from a pedestrian pace and being extremely predictable and silly. The final act is contrived and the ending feels too pat and doesn't feel worth it for a relationship that wasn't investable. Goofs are very high in number, the film is full of them, showing little understanding of the setting, and some of the editing lacks cohesion. The direction never rises above routine and that's being generous.
In summary, very mediocre. 4/10.

This movie was so much fun! It looked great -- the production values were first rate. The cast had wonderful chemistry and the writing was witty. I think the cast and crew hit it out of the park with this one. It's the best Hallmark film I've seen in a while!

7.0 stars.
There is so much to say, but it's not worth the time and effort to say it. This review is for my own benefit alone, so that I don't accidentally re-watch 'All Summer Long' in the next five years. Beyond five years, I might give it another go.
All aboard, it's Captain Reeser in command of a booz cruise in San Francisco. If you've read any other reviews, you may stumble on the ones that say this is obviously not filmed in San Francisco Bay. Again, we have a filmed in Canada situation, which is why Hallmark needs to have a movie that is, hmmmm, I don't know, based in Canada! Give Canadians a chance to actually star in a film centered on their country. Maybe go to Whistler or something.
This film starts off displaying a particular classical type of vintage boat and then we could be seeing a totally different model when they are sailing. I'm not certain, so I'll leave it at that.
I love Reeser. If you've read my other reviews, you know she's one of my top ten Hallmark ladies. This is one of her worst, but no fault of her own. Mr. Elliot's role was akin to many, a bit humorous, a bit self-deprecating, on par for most of his performances. I wasn't disappointed in either of the leads, they gave interpretations of two opposite personalities squirming their way back into good graces, and eventually falling back into love. It was a valiant effort at good romance, but the director sank this vessel.
In the end I felt many good vibes coming from Reeser and Elliot, because they had great conversations, and good chemistry in spite of the wayward script. They did their best to make this work and I applaud their attempts to elevate it in spite of the disorganized production staff.

Cheesy, high school-level plot and dialog. I like a sappy Hallmark movie as much as the next person, but this was uncomfortable to watch. Autumn Reeser totally unbelievable as a lawyer/ship's captain. Even the prop people blew this one - every shirt looked like it just came out if the box. Nothing to get even a slight grasp on. Hoping that the cast, crew, writers, and producers did it as a joke and got a good laugh out of their "effort."

Trivia comments mention Mariners tickets and the film being in San Francisco, CA where the baseball team would be the Giants. Tia and her dad live in Seattle, WA based on the wide shot of The Space Needle just before she speaks to him about a leave of absence. When she was speaking with her Uncle Roland she mentioned flying down to see him, in San Francisco, based on those wide shots. Hence, Mariners season tickets for her dad in Seattle.

In every hallmark movie the female must work with her ex or a childhood sweetheart. The plots are all the same. No imagination in the scripts. The first cruise has them breakdown. They should have had a test cruise without paying customers to have a practice run. New restaurants do this. In the first 5 minutes any one can see they are going to fall in love

I was really looking forward to this as I love Brennan and it's a new movie. However, after watching, I must say I was disappointed. There is no chemistry between the 2 lead characters. I never felt like they were I love (before in college or after on the boat).

Tia is a lawyer who flies to San Francisco to help her aunt and uncle with a legal problem. Her aunt and uncle have a dinner yacht that they are converting into a ship for dinner cruises. That sounds like fun! Her Uncle Roland had an accident and hurts his arm, which is in a cast. Her Uncle Roland and Aunt Julie leave Tia in charge of the ship, and Tia becomes the captain of the ship. There she runs into the chef Jake, who is Tia's ex-boyfriend. She also meets Bennet, who likes Tia a lot. Both Jake and Bennet like Tia. Tia is torn about being a lawyer and being a captain of a ship.
Everyone does and excellent job in this movie!

Usually a Hallmark movie has something good about it. Not "All Summer Long."
A girl with small sailboat experience takes over as captain and manager of the overhaul of a marine vessel so that she can fulfill her life-long dream to be the captain of a dinner cruise ship. Unexpectedly, the lead chef on the ship is her ex-boyfriend.
After overhauling the ship they never take it out on the water -until their first cruise, which is loaded with paying customers. Whoops! Turns out they have a Chief Engineer who actually doesn't know what he is doing. Of course, he isn't fired, he's just demoted to assistant Engineer.
Our female ship captain then goes out on a small boat with her ex-boyfriend chef - only to become stranded overnight in the open sea! Without communications!
Homework assignment: find 6-8 stupid things in the above 3 paragraphs.
Here's some more bad things: Lead male and female have zero chemistry. Insipid dialog that accomplishes nothing and lacks cleverness and naturalness. Unconvincing plot twist to save the day.
This is hack work.

If watching thought-provoking dramas like "My Little Pony" or "Sesame Street" was too taxing for you, this movie should suit you perfectly. Lots of pretty scenery, but that's where the complexity ends - watching this movie you'll be using fewer brain cells than are required to chew food without choking.

Absolutely a dud. Actually I couldn't finish it. Brendan Elliott is not one of my favorites to begin with. I do agree with one of the other reviews is that there is no chemistry between him and Autumn. However, I'm not sure what couple could have saved this movie. It was just BORING! Terrible costing and script.
Tia (Autumn Reeser) is a lawyer working for her dad. She gets a call from her uncle who is turning his yacht into a restaurant in San Francisco. When the captain suddenly quits, she is excited to take a break to be the replacement captain for the summer. She is shocked to find that his uncle had hire her ex Jake (Brennan Elliott) as the chef.
This Hallmark romance generates no heat. The leads have little chemistry. The meet cute is nothing which leads to the combative back and forth having no foundation. Reeser is a good Hallmark actress. Elliott seems to be a veteran workman actor but he needs to be hunkier or more charismatic. The whole movie is flat.
