(2019) The Fatal Raid (In Chinese with English subtitles) ACTION

It is the start of 1997 just during the takeover of Hong Kong has two sets of police units with one squad car having a group of women riding along with another car with a group of men attempting to prevent an arsenal of weapons from entering Hong Kong from Macao. A shoot out ensures with major casualties from both sides. Jump 20 years later and Jade (Jade Leung) is still feeling the after effects being instructed to escort an important diplomat with her past coming back to haunt her with more revelations that has something to do with what happened from the opening. Another one of those movies where there are bad things happening to good guys than bad.

This is short and light action film involving police, gangsters, and corruption. After a police mission goes badly on 1998 the events converge 20 years later in a confused storyline. The movie has an identity crisis as it is light and comedic contrasted with dramatic and action packed. The action and fighting is pretty good. The characters likeable. Subtitles.
