This is the first movie I have seen in this series, and I was not sure what to expect. I was happy that they did not shy away from going into dark stories, but despite some of the things that you see on screen, it never really gets that tense. I thought that the plot was clever enough, and except some quite lazy reveals, the movie moved along nicely.

The subplot about Veum and his old friend, and the relationship between the two, was not that interesting. It's important for the story that there is established something there, but except the one scene where the friend asks Veum if he wants to go drink a beer, there weren't really many good moments between them.

As this is a movie well into the series, you might be expected to know the Veum character well enough so that the movie doesn't need to spend much time on it. This works okay, but he's quite bland.
