It is never made clear whether the director is a wannabe Tarantino or a wannabe Leone -- or simply someone who has seen a lot of spy "spoofs" from 1960s and figured that is what the world needs now. Never mind the bad acting or bad dialog, even the so called "action" scenes are cut so that the viewer is aware something just happened...but not sure exactly what. That this film has already won the award for BEST LOW BUDGET INDIE (even before release!) is a testament to how messed up our culture is. BEWARE THE FAKE "9" and "10" reviews from the producers!

As i watched the movie I found myself wondering how many actual Irish people are in this film, but turns out there was enough to keep me laughing and entertained throughout. Action was peppered with humour which made it better and a chuckles along the way, the showdown with bad guys was predictable but I did like the ending and end credits bits.

This spy farce is about a Priest who steals bearer bonds from some other bad guys and goes on the lamb to Malta. The problem is, he has absolutely no idea what he is doing and is in way over his head because he is NOT a trained thief and not the real mastermind behind this plot.

Both the bad guys, a secret agent and his own family are on his tail, so how do you think he should deal with this dilemma? Of course, make up that you really are a priest. The problem is, he is too good at it and the lies take on a life of their own! This comedy is a bit silly at times and unbelievable compared to some, but it is still an excellent film. Don't be put off by mediocre reviews that came out since its release--it's well worth your time.

Full of laughs, thrills and excitement The Irish Connection is wonderfully entertaining. The acting is exceptional and the directors clear vision shines through.

OK, in retrospective, we should all know that espionage movies are all about cool dudes battling evil, and attracting hot partners in the process (though the latter often overshadowed the former, as Austin Powers showed). "The Irish Connection" is no exception. I will say that Agent Aureille (Rosa Conduri) isn't exactly Jason Bourne, but she has her merits. The movie mostly seems like an excuse to experience that ultra-cool feeling that always emanated from the spy movies of the '60s, and they achieve that.

So, even if it isn't Bourne, it's still very enjoyable. Also starring Matt Healy...and a bunch of clowns.

The four most important spies are James Bond, Jason Bourne, Harry Tasker and Natasha Romanov.

Aureille Fleming (Rosa Coduri) is a special agent chasing the bad guys, but who is the real bad guy. The plot was simple enough to follow and had some wonderfully funny scenes. The cast were all brilliant in their roles and I laughed out loud quite a few times, but best was the Landlady scene, but youll have to watch for that one.

I watched "The Irish Connection" (cool title) not long after watching its predecessor "Mousakka & Chips" but was similarly underwhelmed. Yet again, just about the only reason for watching it is Rosa Coduri's cool persona in the title role. Nicola Wren hamming it up as Aureille's boss and of course the woke fad of Whatever men can do, women can do it better.

The stunts are nothing special, but are counterbalanced by the humour.

I just don't think this was the best way to rip-off, sorry, take inspiration from the successful James Bond series, the over the top approach hardly helping the movie appeal. Wren gets one great accidentally prescient line "All those flash moves are better on a Chorus line" and otherwise Coduri strolls through the film in cool clothes.

At the end of the titles it states Danny & Jay will return and maybe they must and I will watch that too.

It feels like a John Casavettes made a spy spoof movies from 1960's, Aureille the agent has to track down a Priest and return some Bearer bonds, against a bad guy, who is afraid of his wife. Wonderful characters and funny situations, great acting and witty dialog, which enhance the "action" scenes. Looks like this film has already won some film festival awards for BEST LOW BUDGET INDIE. Reading user reviews, which I guess doesn't really matter as hardly a critics circle and just one person's opinion, I had a lot of fun and was entertained.

I enjoyed this. It had been one of those movies I had heard about from the festivals but had never gotten around to.

There are times when it seems that Rosa Coduri is such a cold fish (ala Adulthood), that one has trouble getting connected to her. In this film she is really believable as a woman who has all the training of a killing machine, but a soft side that bears exploring. The character is put into situations she can't understand but can only react to. She has compassion but little understanding. What an interesting role. If there's a shortcoming, it's that the motivations of the bad folks aren't all that clear. It's still a delight to watch her relationship with Jay develop. There is a level of subtlety that most films of this type don't have. The car chases are not spectacular but, for once, funny and with pathos. I appreciated this.

Rosa Coduri as Aureille Flemming (Get it) is what some describe as just a modern day Jane Bond. But with a powerful portrayal by Rosa, she feels more like an original character, a spy agent with a highly trained set of fighting skills in both gun and hand-to- hand combat. In this spy action thriller, Rosa Coduri steps into what is arguably her most charismatic role plays the title character, a secret agent.

Not very many action flicks offer a spectacular mix of tense action and fun like this. From the hyper-kinetic action sequences, to it's slick editing, to the highly compelling plot, to the overall likability of the lead character; this film stops at almost nothing to deliver the strong, visceral experience viewers come to root for. In an age where many films of the action genre struggle to find a solid balance of both action and coherent plot development, this one manages to stand out. The plot moves through the title character's search for bearer bonds (get the Die Hard reference) and the conspiracy that surrounds, and what ensues is a nice array of tension and unpredictable scenes. The fiercest moments show Aureille Flemming engaging in brutal martial arts combat against the baddies, complete with stunning choreography and camera-work that, while a bit shaky, successfully express the intensity of the scenes.

The Irish Connection like its name sake the French Connection is tense, fun and purely entertaining experience for action fans everywhere. This film is easily a household name in Rosa Coduri's career as well as the action genre of the 2000s. For all looking for a great popcorn flick, this one is worth checking out.

Very funny movie with great performances and amazing locales, just love Malta. The story kept me hooked throughout and the characters were well drawn and very entertaining, the music was great and really captured the mood.

Really enjoyed this movie and laughed all my way through it.

Aureille plays a recently single CIA agent, and there's lots of chases and red herrings as the bad guys played by Emmerdale farms Matt King, all try to unmask her. Aureille decides to beat them at their own game and joins forces with Danny and Jay and outspy's everyone. That's when the movie takes a left turn and clowns enter the mix! The whole thing is a real hoot, and very entertaining.

It's all a lot of harmless fun, and Malta looks amazing place to visit!

Bearer bonds have been stolen by a Priest no less and Danny and Jay are hunting them down. Aureille Flemming (Rosa Coduri) a secret agent is stuck doing what she hates the most, beating clues out of bad guys. Her boss Miranda still pines for her after their break up and is making her field work difficult. Alice is an unconventional crime boss and has tasked Danny & Jay to hand over the Priest with the bearer bonds.

I love the style. I love the comedy. I love Rosa Coduri's cool demeanor. I also love the first two thirds of the movie. The last act is questionable and a bit too by the numbers and convenient. There isn't enough tension and needs some more action. Also I'm not sure why the Priest double crossed the real bad guys. It feels different from the first parts of the movie.

A Priest steals bearer bonds from Alice Baker and her gang and goes on run to Malta pursued by them and a cocky super-agent Aureille (a wonderful engaging Rosa Coduri) is assigned to stop them all. In the spy-saturated genres, this comedy addition to the genre would seem an unlikely stand-out, and yet it is very well made. Perhaps its cool style, tongue-in-cheek sense of intrigue, and mix of adventure and satire makes it more interesting than it has any right to. Satirizing a genre already so steeped in self-reverence, the all too familiar ending feels too obvious. Coduri is focused and wiry, but I always liked her more as a wannabe villain like in Adulthood; she's so ironed-out here of any kind of personal complication that the first few scenes give you all she's got. Dave Healy, as chief thug, has a few funny moments as a man intimidated by his pregnant wife, but otherwise a well made funny 90 minutes..

British agent Aureille is sent to investigate the robbery of Bearer Bonds, the agent goes Rogue in Malta. From opening scenes which starts off feeling like its going to be a date shows strong female character and wonderfully played by Rosa Coduri. The Agent is on the run from her own boss Miranda who is still keen on dating her. A great night in and worthy watch.

Aureille is a secret agent on seeminly a first date. But there's something sinister going on with her date... Well, the movie's central idea is not that new but the delivery of the idea, the pace and the performance of Rosa Coduri really elevate this film. Entertaining and tense with comical moments that fit the genre, will make you follow almost all the characters in the film. Also kudos to the slow costume transformation of the Agent and the juxtaposition of the prior date shots with what happens after, as this helps create a sense of relatability with Aureille.

One of the entertaining movies of 2022.

The film starts with a wonderful conversation between two people you think is on a date before jumping into the story of double cross intrigue and fun. That tone pervades throughout the movie, with wisecracking and fun humour, and a subdued villain, at odds with the expected megalomaniac we are used to. But the film is all the better for it. There are some fantastic action set-pieces including a chase in maltese streets

Add to the mix a fine cast, notably Rosa Coduri as another strong character in the list of 'Strong women', and you have a satisfying and thrilling entry.

In The Irish Connection, Aureille Flemming starts off hiding that she is a secret agent. When that quickly unravels due to Astin Brody showing up and warning her mark who she is. This causes Aureille to respond to a previous threat she made...Anybody from her past life that confronted her, she'd get revenge.

She sets out to find out what happened and why is a Priest seemingly the culprit

Not all principal players return for this sequel, but ones that do is good to see how their characters evolved since the first film. More new characters are present as well, and they are good additions to the series. Rosa Coduri is brilliant as Aureille, over her predecessor Helena Roman's Charlotte, she's very comfortable in the role. I really enjoyed Nicola Wren as her boss.

The movie is faster paced than the original and never gets boring, and there is a nice blend between the action and the drama. This movie also features a car chase that wants to be Bullitt, but is lacking in action, but makes up for it in humor.

The movie ends with promise of a third installment, and I would like to see that.

STANDING IN LIVING testimony to the power and popularity of the JAMES BOND Series, super spies in celluloid sprouted up in all corners of Hollywood. The Irish Connection with Rosa Coduri and Shane Robinson is about the most successful.

BEING THAT THEY may seem like parodies, the production team clearly had the broadest of parameters. In addition to the usual trappings of cool heroines, hot cars and motorbikes; the element of reflective appreciation played a major role.

WE EVEN HAVE Aureille (Coduri) meeting up with a virtual James Bond 'M' double at both her home and hotel. The conversation between the two would suggest that "all spies know each other."

SOME OF OUR favourite gags were: Danny and Jay with the Landlady who does not run a Bed and Breakfast; also Aureille's meeting Casper finally in a fight.

THE OVERALL EFFECT of the picture are most satisfying; as evidenced by the reactions of the audience members we saw in the theatre.

We start off with a woman on a first date with a very.. confident man. She turns out to be an undercover agent, Alice Baker. And he ends up is a henchman working for a pregnant mobster.

About 12 minutes in you get the credits accompanied by an up beat song.

Charlette is out for blood as she teams up with two clueless guys to find the evil Priest and his goons.

She rides fast on her black hog and fights with fist of steel.

What I love to see in any low budget film is locations and this film didn't disappoint. They also had a variety of music tracks that were fun thought the film.

This is a must see won empowerment butt kicking action picked spy movie!

'The Irish Connection' takes you on a wild ride through the world of spies and secrets. You've got Aureille, a gutsy agent on a mission to crack a major heist. But hold on tight, because things get crazy when she's backstabbed by someone she'd never expect! Going rogue is her only play. The movie's got it all, heart-thumping action, stunning visuals, and a lead who totally nails it. What really gets you is how it mixes all that adrenaline with questions about trust and betrayal. If you're up for a rollercoaster of suspense and feelings, 'The Irish Connection' should be on your watch list, no doubt.
