On Saturday, 2nd November 2019 the British Broadcasting Corporation announced that they have commissioned a 15th series of the programme to be aired in Spring 2020. Scottish comedian Susan Calman will take over presenting duties for series 15, the format has been tweaked and will feature more chefs and more dishes. The theme for series 15 will be iconic food from children's literature.
Each heat is filmed over the course of a week: on Monday, the chefs get settled in, meet the veteran and cook the canapés; on Tuesday, they cook their starters and fish courses, followed by their main courses and pre-desserts on Wednesday. Thursday is dessert, then, on Friday, it's time for the judges chamber.
The chefs have to pay for all the food and props they use for their dishes themselves. They are not allotted a budget.
