A US submarine experiences a series of mishaps and illnesses. Harm and Mac investigate while at sea; they suspect that someone aboard has induced the problems. Harm figures it out, and the bad guy tries but fails to put them out of his way.

A US submarine mistakenly surfaces in the middle of a sailing regatta in Norwegian territorial waters. Harm and Mac go aboard the sub underway to investigate; they find also a series of illnesses and an injury; they suspect that someone aboard has induced the problems. An unexpected change of orders causes the boat to make a transit under the Arctic ice to the Pacific Ocean. With help from Bud at the HQ, Harm narrows the list of possible suspects, and that prime suspect suddenly does a number on Harm. Both Harm and Mac deal with him and eventually beat him at his own game. During their time at sea they work out their differences. They and the bad guy ride a helo together back to the US.—DocRushing

A series of mishaps aboard a Navy submarine require a squabbling Harm and Mac to share very close quarters. But when the mishaps become fatal, the two put aside their differences and figure out who is trying to injure the crew. Harm figures out that it's the ship's chief medical officer, whose service record includes three incidents in which he cured relatively rare diseases.

Harm and Mac find themselves too close for comfort when they are sent to investigate an international incident on a nuclear submarine. When Harm and Mac, who are already getting on each other's nerves, find themselves in the cramped quarters of the submarine, their relationship is stretched to the absolute limit. Their attempts to stay out of each other's way as much as possible are futile since they must work together to find out why the sub surfaced miles off course, sinking a Norwegian boat in the middle of a regatta. Initially, it seems that the incident was the result of reduced staffing due to a breakout of E-coli. However, as more health problems begin to arise aboard the sub, Harm and Mac suspect a more criminal element than disease.
