- [smiles]
- Ella: I used to hear you movin' about.
- Bob: [laughingly] I used to hear you sometimes.
- Ella: [abruptly, on the verge of tears] Oh Bob. You shouldn'ta gone and done it.
- [pause]
- Bob: Things have to change sometimes, don't they?
- Ella: *Will* you write?
- Bob: Yeah, I'll write. If you'll answer.
- Ella: Oh I'll answer.
- [pause]
- Ella: Will you post this for me, please?
- Bob: Mr. Eccles, eh? Still mad about you, is he?
- Ella: Dunno.
- Bob: You've no time for him, 'ave ya?
- Ella: He's too old. And I'm young aren't I?

- Ella: [glances back at the bus] Here's my bus.
