A+ is probably one of the most refreshing and innovating cinematographic experiences to be presented in Spain the present year. Filmed most of it in video, it tells tree different stories of three different genres with quite different styles. The point in common for all of them is A+, an independent music show that happens to be the goal for all the characters but by many different circumstances. The first story tells us about a young couple of drug dealers that get themselves in serious trouble with local mafia and have to run away from home almost naked and with two packages of cocaine in their hands. That story, maybe the most interesting, is a rough tale abut fate, love and how to live with you own announced dead. The second one is a funny story held by magnificent comedians Fernando Ramallo and Eloi Yebra about two young guys that star a funny trip to A+ in a lousy sidecar a friend of them got. The third story is a soft and elegant tale about generational miscommunication represented by a father that tries to get close to her daughter by bringing her to A+. The result is a really moving piece that faces us to father-child problems in a very stylish and modern way. To sum up, a really great film that, besides of falling sometimes in to amateur's mistakes (overall in the editing), proves that god ideas and enthusiasm for a project may be better than a lot of money for doing it. A really great hope for Spanish independent cinema that makes us wish for a next feature film in 35mm! 4 and 1/2 points over 5.
