When the band starts playing "La Villa Strangiato", Alex says things into the microphone that are mockingly censored on the video. The band's explanation for this "joke" is that Alex simply jabbered into the microphone (as he does, uncensored, on later concert videos), and his voice was not recorded. The "censored" warnings on-screen were a manufactured aspect of the joke. The band laments that viewers often don't get the joke.
The Laserdisc version of "A Show of Hands" (1989) also contains "Lock and Key", an additional song not included on the VHS version.
Both during the intro and the closing credits, music from the opening of the Three Stooges shorts is played. Rush frequently used the Three Stooges music while taking the stage for their concerts. It's actually a combination of two Stooges themes, "Three Blind Mice," as rendered throughout the 1950s; and "Listen To The Mockingbird," used from 1935-1938. The Stooges did not include the "Hello, Hello, Hello...Hello" portion until Joe Besser joined in 1956 after Shemp Howard's death.
The nine-note riff at the end of "The Big Money" is from "Earache My Eye" by Cheech and Chong (with "Alice Bowie"). Rush would add it to songs in later tours as well.
