Excellent, but puzzling at times

This movie actually kept my wife awake! It was an excellent story and you just have to admire Gracie for her determination. She would be someone I would like to meet. The acting was extremely good, especially Anne Heche. She should be nominated for some kind of award for her performance,scary at times. Diane Ladd, great, as always, and Kristen Bell was reasonably convincing. I was a bit puzzled about the romantic relationship that Gracie had in the story. It should have had more substance to it. At first the boyfriend was completely understanding of Gracie's plight, and in an instant he reversed his feelings. I couldn't understand the meaning of the robbery/shooting scene involving Gracie and the children either. No matter, overall a must see.

About seven months before her untimely death in August 2022, Anne Heche was asked who she would like to play her in a movie about her life. Kristen Bell was one of the two she named who played her daughter in this movie and who Anne said reminded her of herself. She said it was no accident that she played her mom years ago.

Patzer
When Gracie is at work filling out an application for a scholarship her hair is in a brown headband. When she is running up to the hospital after getting the phone call her hair is back in clips, one on each side. When she walks into the hospital room her hair is back in the headband again. This could be because they originally had her grandmother go to the hospital earlier in the story and they used the same running clip. Earlier in the story her hair was in the two clips.
