At one point a football match is shown on a monitor; the teams playing are Japan and France. The two collaborators, Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto, are French and Japanese respectively. The score, 2 for France and 1 for Japan, represent how many were from each country.

The movie is based on the 2001 Daft Punk's album "Discovery", which is the soundtrack.

The names of the characters can be found during the "Crescendolls" sequence, and in the extras on the DVD. The band member's names are Octave (keyboard), Stella (the female bass player), Arpegius (the blond guitar player), and Baryl (drums). The hero that comes to the band's rescue is named Shep. The villain is named The Earl of Darkwood.

On December 12, 2024, the movie was re-released globally in over 1500 theaters as a limited time special event. After the movie they were exhibited six music videos of the band: Daft Punk: Da Funk (1997), Daft Punk: Around the World (1997), Daft Punk: Burnin' (1997), Daft Punk: Revolution 909 (1998), Daft Punk: Fresh (2000) and Daft Punk ft. Julian Casablancas + the Voidz: Infinity Repeating (2013 Demo) (2023).
