The film features various residents of the German community of San Carlos de Bariloche, including Erich Priebke, a former SS captain responsible for the 1944 Ardeatine Caves massacre in Rome. At the end of the war, he fled to Argentina, settling in San Carlos de Bariloche under a false identity. In 1994, he was discovered and interviewed on the street by Sam Donaldson, an American journalist for ABC. He was then arrested and extradited to Italy, where he was sentenced to life in prison.
