Aussie satire a bit like Some Mothers Do Have 'Em

I've only seen season 2. I bought this at an Op Shop thinking it was an offload adventure deco, a lighthearted but serious one. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was all comedy. Oddly it is all pretty much the same joke. Mr Coight intruduces us to some aspect of outback camping, tourism or bush know-how, only to have whatever it is collapse, explode or be interrupted at the last moment. Occasionally Mr Coight reveals some redneck ideas he believes in. All Aussie Adventures all being basically one joke repeated I would have thought repetitive and unsustainable. Not so. This is actually funny. Australian viewers will certainly be familiar with the format he is sending up. Actually it is not all one joke as the narration is often out of sync with the images, and the narration itself, often with invented history from the 1800s, is a bit of a laugh too. Anyway, as comedy, it worked for me, and I got plenty of laughs.

A delightful embarassment to Australia

This show is silly, completely predictable, shamefully slapstick... and absolutely hilarious. Glen Robbins plays the antithesis of Steve Irwin. He is a terrible bushman and every time he tries to "help" someone, total disaster quickly ensues.

I thought series 3 might be a bit of a letdown, given the 16-year gap between series 2. Our intrepid bushman may have aged a bit, but he is as idiotic as ever and doesn't seem to have learned a thing in the interim. It is a comforting thought that some things don't have to change much at all to keep up with the times.

If you haven't seen any of this series, definitely start with the first series. I am not sure about the current availability of the 2018 series outside Australia, but if you have to exercise patience until it shows up, it is definitely worth the wait.

Pure genius

Glen Robbins portrayal of the character "Russel Coight" is brilliant. Russel Coight is a parody of the many Australian identities such as the bushtucker man, malcom douglas to name a few, who decided to make documentaries about the Australian outback. Loosely based upon the Leylands series. Glen Robbins puts Russel Coight into embarrassing situations which shows the funny side of human nature when put into awkward and uncomfortable situations. We see Russel's lies and cover ups as everything doesn't go to plan. The way that Russels character is portrayed is just pure genius. If you ever get the chance to see this then definitely watch it or hire/buy the DVD.

The Best Comedy TV show ever?

A one word answer to my question. Yes. This is the very best comedy I have seen EVER. I was flicking through the channels on my freeview box and happened to catch this on ftn, thinking it was another Steve Irwin documentary. I soon realized it wasn't as I was quickly on the floor desperately trying to stop laughing. If you like laugh-out-loud comedy with lines like, "Brandon traveled North, then East, then South and then West at which point he realized he was going in circles." Or, "He named the mountain, Mt. Disappointment after his wife, Inge." Then this is definitely for you. 10/10

LOVE IT

It's been too long since we last saw Russell but im glad he's back. If your looking for a show that gives you a few laughs then Aussie Adventures is the show for you. Yes, the jokes are corny and most of the time you can see what's going to happen a mile away but WHO CARES! Isn't that kind of the main reason why we love the show to begin with?? The show cracks me up and Glenn is one of the few great comedians on Aussie tv who after all the years still make us laugh. Im so glad this show has come back because im sick to death of almost eveything on tv now is some reality based show. Cooking shows, weight loss, home reno , house buying, dating, weddings, singing, talent... The list just goes on and on and on. So I just like to say...Thank you Russell Coight (Glenn Robbins) for taking the time and effort to give us Aussies a laugh or two. Cheers!

As funny as ever

I have been watching the new series and it is hilarious. All Aussie Adventures captures the essence of classic Australian comedy that does not other wise exist in 2018 - it has been consumed by tired identity politics such as any number of ABC presenters or The Project.

Adventures is all about sight gags and social awkwardness - mixed with the misunderstood Aussie outback culture, which in this humble reviewers is an unbeatable combination.

It's a great show to relax, crack a beer and laugh your arse off to.

mind-numbingly funny!

This is honestly one of the funniest shows i think i've EVER seen, i'm so glad my dad introduced it to me! I'm especially glad that season 3 was just as funny (if not more) as the first 2 seasons. Glenn hasn't lost his touch!! 10836291% recommend to everyone who loves an aussie dingus, continuously running into bad luck in the outback!

The best Australian show

With all three seasons being simply great, comedian Glenn's character of Russel Coight in this hilarious mockumentary is simply hilarious and feels like a breath of fresh air into the soulless world of Australian TV of 2017. It's Australia's funniest and best entertainment creation of the 21st century. And unlike almost every other show, it was just as good (if not better) by the end of the show's run as its start.

My only dissatisfaction about the show is that it's over! I would love for Network Ten to order a fourth season.

Repetitive and predictable

More of the same old same from Australia. Lightweight 'funny' material that has been done to death. The law of averages gives us a genuine laugh once in a while, but don't go in expecting more than that. Australian comedic content can occasionally rise to decent heights, but unless you're easily amused, or have low expectations, skip this, as it doesn't generally rise beyond a mild 'heh'. This is neither genius, nor the best comedy TV show ever as others have claimed. I suspect people are willing to accept anything that dished up to them, as the days of quality productions and writing seem to be well behind us.

Hilarious

This is the funniest outback adventure show I have ever seen. Glenn Robbins is hilarious as the incompetent Russell Coight, who is a typical outback bloke - with a difference. He is constantly having his tent collapse on him, his car gets stuck at least once an episode (and he somehow manages to get out every time, but we never see that), he meets outback folk and interviews them badly. He knows nothing about the bush, and if you ever hear him say the words "this is an endangered species" be warned - that species numbers are about to go down by one.

Russell coight's all Aussie adventures

I would've given a higher rating if the soundtrack was by Chad Morgan.

Hysterical

This is by far one of the funniest shows on television. If you've never watched it, you're missing out. Even people who don't like this silly type of humour will get a giggle. Congrats to the team for making a hilarious Aussie show, keep it coming!
