Husband neglects Wife

This story is about a sort of attractive middle age wife with some middle age problems around the waist, who is being neglected by her husband in the sex department. This gal is Oliva Hussey,(Catherine Gaits),"Headspace",'05, who is married to a very busy wealthy guy who just simply falls asleep as soon as he gets into bed. One day her husband decides to purchase a yacht and sends his wife off to settle the sale of the vessel. Catherine meets up with a young man, John Denison,(Peter Thornton),"Karla",'06 and Peter notices that she looks very much like his wife and he becomes very interested in her and they have a drink together. It is from this point on that things begin to go crazy and the picture speeds into action and the drama begins. Very good film for a TV Show, but sort of a copy-cat story we have seen many times before.

Ilogical and Nonsensical

The plot is plausible but banal, i.e., beautiful and neglected wife of wealthy and powerful man has a fling with a psychotic hunk, then tries to cover it up as the psycho stalks and blackmails her. But, what develops from there is stupefyingly illogical. Despite the resources that are available to the usual couple who has money and influence, our privileged hero and heroine appear to have only one domestic, their attorney and local police (who say they can do nothing) at their disposal while they grapple with suspense and terror. They have no private security staff (only a fancy security system that they mishandle), household or grounds staff, chauffeurs, etc. Not even, apparently, the funds to hire private round-the-clock nurses to care for the hero when he suffers life-threatening injuries, leaving man and wife alone and vulnerable in their mansion. Our heroine is portrayed as having the brains of a doorknob and our hero, a tycoon, behaves in the most unlikely and irrational manner. The production is an insult to viewers who wasted their time with this drivel and a crime for having wasted the talents of veteran actors Oliva Hussey and Don Murray (what were they thinking?). And, shame on Lifetime TV for insulting the intelligence of its audience for this insipid offering.

I Loved This Movie!

Unlike another user who said this movie sucked (and that Olivia Hussey was terrible), I disagree.

This movie was amazing!!!!!! Olivia Hussey is awesome in everything she's in! Yeah she may be older now, because many remember her from Romeo and Juliet, but she's wonderful!

This story line may be used quite often, but it's a unique movie and I'll fight back on anyone who disagrees! I enjoyed this movie just as much as I have any other Olivia Hussey movie. Olivia's "my girl" and I love her work.

I saw this for the first time on Saturday (4/14/07) and fell in love with it. Not only because's it's an Olivia movie, but because of it's unique story line and wonderful direction.

bad acting and writing

This 2001 made for TV film showed on LMN, naturally, as it seems all movies that are doomed end up on that channel. Seeing the likes of Don Murray, whom I like and respect his body of work, stoop to doing this trite was very sad. As also Ed Asner. Olivia Hussey was terrible in this and I wonder if she ever was a good actress. I couldn't stand her running around denying everything and then saying she was scared. Many times help was offered to her and she reneged. And that hair of hers. Haning straight down and too long made her look like a vampire. It was definitely not attractive. In fact most of the film she looked dowdy.

William Riead wrote and directed this loser. Anthony Denison plays the lover with the emotion on a one level. You don't believe he really had any interest in her. And her looks wouldn't encourage anyone to want to have an affair with her. Totally unbelievable performances and wasted film with Asner and Murray not getting what they deserve as actors.

Women cheaters beware

Don Murray plays an older husband wronged by his neglected wife in this rather thin thriller. It's "Fatal Attraction" reversed, with none of the heart-clenching moments and little sympathy for the adulterer. Olivia Hussey fails to sustain any believable level of emotion as she frets over the ramifications and complications of her wrongdoings, and it doesn't help that many of her lines are so vanilla-plain, e.g., "It's not a problem." Otherwise, the movie has a certain watchability due to the presence of Murray and Edward Asner (as the couple's bemused lawyer). Most of all, I wonder where a movie like this comes from, as I certainly don't remember it showing at any theaters.
