This film tells today's Turkish politicians is so good. The bad destiny of Turkey. religion and politics. politicians sucking the blood of citizens. that's it, we laugh instead of crying.

The film is adapted from the novel by Aziz Nesin. Zubuk : a public statement , the person ignores all the way to its lawful interests, do not stop at words, a crook , selfish , deceitful , devious , treacherous, dishonest , bouncer , turncoat.

Everything is natural in movie like another Sunal' movies.

Author Aziz Nesin's masterpiece

Adapted from the magnificent book of the Turkish author Aziz Nesin, this film is the mirror of the past, present and future of Turkish political history. Kemal Sunal also reflected the character of Ibrahim Zübükzade on the screen perfectly.

This spectacular movie shows the corruption which has been occured in Turkish political life. The. When you watch this movie the lead actor will look very familiar to you. Aziz nesin wrote this book many years ago but since then nothing has changed in politics and unfortunately this movie is not allowed to be showed in Turkish tv channels. If you lived in Turkey you would be suprised by many scene from the movie. This is the story of the politician named Zübük. He gets expelled from the political party that he is a member of, due to corruption. The journalist Yasar wants to make a news story about his case and investigates Zübük's doings. Yasar gets baffled at the sly tricks Zübük played on his village people.

A masterpiece from 1980 to todays Turkey

I still don't get why this movie is not on TV yet. What a sociological analysis on Turkish politics. The funny point is nothing has been changed since 1980s in terms of politicians.

A Timeless Critique of Political Exploitation

"Zübük," a film from four decades ago, remarkably retains its relevance in today's political landscape by delving into the intricate dynamics of power, manipulation, and the exploitation of societal vulnerabilities. Directed by Memduh Ün, this cinematic masterpiece not only entertains but also serves as a poignant critique of politicians who shamelessly capitalize on religion, nationalism, and ethical values to advance their agendas.

Set against the backdrop of a politically charged environment, "Zübük" introduces us to a cunning and opportunistic character, aptly named Zübük. Through the lens of this political charlatan, brilliantly portrayed by Kemal Sunal, the film unravels the deceptive tactics employed by individuals in positions of authority to garner support and maintain control.

One of the film's most striking aspects is its portrayal of the manipulation of religious and nationalist sentiments for personal gain. Zübük shamelessly exploits the deeply ingrained beliefs of the populace, using them as tools to further his own ambitions. This narrative thread resonates strongly with contemporary audiences, offering a stark commentary on the dangers of blindly following charismatic leaders who prey on fear and insecurity.

Furthermore, "Zübük" does not shy away from addressing the erosion of ethical values in pursuit of political power. The protagonist's moral bankruptcy serves as a cautionary tale, reminding viewers of the corrosive effects of unchecked ambition and moral compromise.

Kemal Sunal's performance as Zübük is nothing short of mesmerizing. He effortlessly embodies the character's complexities, portraying both his charisma and his underlying ruthlessness with equal conviction. The supporting cast, including Müjde Ar and Sevket Altug, delivers commendable performances, adding depth to the film's narrative tapestry.

In conclusion, "Zübük" stands as a timeless masterpiece that transcends its era, offering a scathing critique of political exploitation that remains as relevant today as it was forty years ago. Through its incisive portrayal of manipulation, deceit, and the erosion of ethical values, the film serves as a stark reminder of the dangers inherent in unchecked ambition and the importance of remaining vigilant in the face of political opportunism.

Turkey's 40 year unchanged politics

Zubuk is a 1980 Turkish comedy film that exposes the corruption and hypocrisy of the Turkish political system and the society that supports it. The film is based on the novel by Aziz Nesin, a famous Turkish writer and satirist. The film is directed by Kartal Tibet and written by Atif Yilmaz. The film stars Kemal Sunal as Ibrahim Zubukzade, a corrupt politician who is expelled from his party.

The film is a sharp and witty critique of the Turkish politics and the people who are manipulated by it. Zubukzade is a dishonest, immoral, and opportunistic man who will do anything for his own benefit. He uses his cunning and trickery to turn everyone against each other, so that the people eventually beg him to become the mayor. He also avoids the traps set by his enemies with his wit and luck. He then gets himself elected as a member of parliament.

The film shows how Zubukzade exploits the ignorance, greed, and ungratefulness of the people. He uses religion, nationalism, and democracy as tools to deceive and manipulate the masses. He also seduces and marries the daughter of an opposition leader at gunpoint. He is a master of lies and flattery, and he knows how to use the media and the public opinion to his advantage.

The film also shows how the journalist Yasar, who wants to write a series of articles about Zubukzade's life and deeds, is shocked and disgusted by his stories. He goes to talk to Zubukzade face to face, hoping to expose his true nature. But Zubukzade, with his shamelessness, blames the people for being the real culprits, and claims that he is a honest and patriotic politician. Yasar almost feels sorry for Zubukzade, but he realizes that Zubukzade played a trick on him as well.

The film is a brilliant satire that reflects the past, present, and future of Turkish political history. It is a timeless and universal film that can be enjoyed by anyone who likes comedy and social commentary. The film is also a showcase of Kemal Sunal's talent and charisma, as he portrays the character of Zubukzade with perfection. The film is a classic of Turkish cinema that deserves to be watched and appreciated.

Çok iyi bir film.

I recently came across the film online. Despite having seen it many times before, I decided to watch it again. It's truly timeless. Its political critiques are brilliant. The fact that it's an adaptation of a novel is a major factor in its success. The acting is far superior to films made at the time. Novel adaptations are risky, but this work by Aziz Nesin shines on the big screen. I consider it one of the best films in cinema history.
