Harry: Crippled for life is fine. Actually, you're not to kill him. Crippled is better. Practise aiming to cripple the cabbages, not to kill them.

Harry: A man is measured by his enemies.

Harry: You muist have a strong enemy, son. Otherwise it's too easy to destroy him.

Harry: [to Gus who is still in his bunk in the loft] Get out of that stretcher. Look at you! Half the day gone. Come on! Is there dinner in it?
Gus: There is not! I don't feel like being the cook anymore. Get George O'Flaherty to fetch you in a woman if you want your dinner handed up to you.

Harry: As my Annie - god rest her soul - always said, the future of this country, if it has any future at all, lies in cabbages.

[lactating her large right breast into a cup]
Margaret: I'm not carrying any more of this milk around than I have to.

Harry: [to Gus] Gobshite!

Harry: Right, you're my witness! You're my witness. You saw him turn on me and beat seven shades of shite out of me.
Maeve: There isn't a mark on ya.

George: You owe me. I want paid.
Harry: Well, the cabbages are sold. The money is spent. You can't take feathers of a frog.

Harry: [bending down over the corpse at the funeral] Say something. Say anything at all.
[a smile appears on the face of the deadvbody in the casket]
Harry: So that's your game, is it? You think you can give Harry Malony the slip that easy?

[First lines]
Harry: [Voice over] I had the dream again.
Gus: [Voice over] What dream?
Harry: [Voice over] About the tree.
Gus: [Voice over] A tree?
Gus: Da? What tree?
Harry: I turned into a tree.
