In the eyes of the law

Nunzio Pisani was hanged for a murder he didn't commit. Many years later, his son Giorgio arrives in the town of Sorrento in the disguise of Doctor Welby (Anthony Steffen) to investigate the case. Don Amedeo (Alberto Farnese) rules over this part of the country and tries to stop the Doctor. Nevertheless, Welby finds former friends of his father who believe in his innocence, and there is a witness who could identify the true murderer: Isabella (Diana Martín). Unfortunately, the young lady became blind, but the doctor is convinced he can restore her eyesight with some skillful surgery, and then the truth might finally be revealed...

Mediocre remake of a 1930s classic, lacking suspense and credibility. Director Nostro previously worked on gladiator movies, actor Anthony Steffen continued more successfully in western movies.
