Diamantia sto gymno sou soma

Sorry for the subject line... The title of the film just reminds me of Paul Simon's catchy tune.

"Diamonds on her Naked Flesh" is a bonkers (s)exploitation flick from Greece, in which the former prostitute turned hotel manager Bella commands her spineless boyfriend to steal the stolen diamonds of a German gangster who stays at her hotel and kill him. Her plan works out surprisingly well, until the dead gangster's accomplice check into her hotel as well, looking for the diamonds. Luckily for Bella, the other gangster is easily distracted and spends more time bedding the local prostitutes (and Bella herself) than searching for the loot. But then, another accomplice shows up. And another one.

The version of "Diamonds on her Naked Flesh" that I watched (at the lovely Off-Screen film festival in Brussels) also featured several extra inserted hardcore pornographic sequences. This may sound exhilarating, but it really only makes the film a lot longer and quite boring. Funnily enough, the male actors perform their own porno tasks, but the actresses are replaced with faceless stand-in bodies so you can clearly see the difference in size of breasts or hair length.

Some action/fighting scenes are nicely violent, there's good use of small Greek islands and a raunchy old harbor as filming locations, the women are pretty, and the soundtrack is groovy. In other words, a real gem for genuine exploitation fanatics to seek out.
