... please don't watch this one! You would get a bad impression. It's just boring. Some people would say: "This is art!" but I say: "This is boring!". Or do you want to watch a girl sitting in a underground? (Just sitting. Doing nothing but sitting! For 5 minutes just sitting!!) Or drinking her coffee (Just drinking. Saying nothing.)? Or laying in her bed (Just laying.)?
Some people may find this movie boring, but if you have found an entrance into this film you'll love it! Sure, it's not for the "normal" movie goer who wants to have fun. In the contrary: You will be almost depressed after this one. If you are the melancholic type than this is a must see for you! One can also say: This is a song of Portishead as a movie.
This is not everybody's cup of tea, and it shouldn't be. What we see is not a story (or only a slight one), but a view of the day-to-day life of 19 year old Mimi: what she does, how she reacts on circumstances etcetera. But both the director and actress (Sophie Aignier) do it with such panache (with the director having an astonishing power of control of image) that this film captivated at least this viewer.
The film does have something of the Chantal Akerman style. So this is for the discriminating viewer only.
I saw this picture at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), where it could only attract a very small audience.

If you have never watched a German movie, don't watch this! It would make a bad impression on you. It seems as if the producers had not enough money to cut the film: you see the leading actress sitting in an underground for three minutes or you see a man for some minutes reading a book *yawn*.
