Le clochard milliardaire

Olivier Cabrol is a young man who lives from day to day, irresponsible and a party animal. One day, he inherits a fabulous fortune whose only condition is that he live every even date (and not forty-eight hours as claimed by the synopsis) under the identity of a tramp.

This experience will reveal Olivier to himself. He will experience friendship with Henri and love with his sister, Colette.

This screenplay is a water-downed version of " Volpone" (filmed by Maurice Tourneur ,and a strong inspiration for Mankiewicz 's "the honey pot" ); the "king of bacon" pretends he is dead to put his nephew to the test ; an honest comedy with ,now and then ,some funny scenes (particularly in the first part , the visit to the friend's family and the rather snob sister. Henri Guisol (46) is too old for the part and Raymond Pellegrin here cast as the good friend would have been a better choice for the lead.
