Hilde Holm is a wicked woman coming from a wealthy family.Volmari and Vieno have known her since they were all kids.As grown-ups they both want her and follow her to Helsinki from the rural environment.The love for this woman really hurts their friendship.Volmari also becomes a heavy drinker, while Vieno starts boxing.Rakastin Sinua, Hilde (1954) is directed by Veikko Itkonen.Tapio Vilpponen worked as the writer, and it's based on the text that came from a screenplay competition by farmer Pentti Huiku.The female lead is acted by Eila Karipää, who was the wife of the director.She does a very good job as this femme fatale type of woman.Sakari Jurkka is excellent as Volmari, who is tortured by love to this woman.Matti Oravisto is terrific as Vieno with the boxing skills.Teija Sopanen, who won "Suomen Neito" beauty contest in 1953 and worked as TV1's announcer, does her acting debut as Maisa.She's very good, too.Matti Aulos plays Volmari's father while Aino Lohikoski is his mother.Kaarlo Wilska portrays Vieno's father and Henny Valjus is his mother.Martta Kontula is Hilde's mother.Felix Teraste is Volmari as a child and Teuvo Sarias is Vieno as a child.Hilde as a child is played by Eeva-Liisa Peronkoski.Aku Korhonen plays the part of Valmentaja Harkko.Tuula Rossi plays Tuula Harkko.Heikki Savolainen is Anselmi.Tauno Majuri plays Bengt, the professor.Paavo Jännes is Maisteri Karhi.George de Godzinsky is Pianisti.Esko Jantunen is Nuori Mies Bussissa.I found this movie from the library as a DVD last year.The movie has got a lot of good.Like when the young Hilde invites the boys to her house, and she plays the piano.And it's nice to watch the Finnish countryside in the summer.This may not make any movie history, but it's worth watching.
