In the 2021 Netflix film, Sydney Sweeney and Megan Fox‘s stylish, metallic, and seductive rendition of vampire bosses couldn’t help elevate Night Teeth. However, the atmospheric movie might have potential for redemption yet in a well-timed spin-off sequel from the streamer.
In Night Teeth, both Sweeney and Fox were killed in one of the most criticized and underwhelming scenes in the film. They were given virtually no time to shine on-screen as the feared and formidable bosses, and the extent of their “rule” was merely an implication before they were slaughtered off-screen by a psychotic underling.
Now, a spin-off of the film that shines its full focus on Sydney Sweeney and Megan Fox will not only rectify the former error, but has the potential to be big enough to break Netflix streaming records.

The Paradise panel at the TV Academy's inaugural Televerse Festival covered an array of topics, including the show's four Emmy nominations and what fans can expect from Season 2. But when the conversation turned to Sterling K. Brown's derrière, the conversation went off the rails.
"It's one of those things where, you show the ass one time, you have some sort of street credibility," the three-time Emmy winner said about the infamous scene from Paradise Season 1 where his character, Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins, was seen naked from behind in the shower. Brown added, "You show it twice, then it's not the same. It's not the right amount of cocoa butter. You gotta stay moisturized."
As the crowd broke into laughter, his costar James Marsden declared, "There isn't anybody in this room that wouldn't mind seeing that for a second time — myself included."
Brown shook his head and responded that he would "lose integrity.

In Brad Silberling's 1995 ghost comedy "Casper," Kat Harvey (Christina Ricci) and her widowed father James (Bill Pullman) move into a large, spooky mansion haunted by cartoonish, playfully destructive spirits. Casper (Malachi Pearson) is a friendly ghost, but his ghostly roommates Stretch (Joe Nipote), Fatso (Brad Garett), and Stinkie (Joe Alaskey) are more sinister, able to scare, harm, or bodily possess any interlopers.
In order to scare him out of their home, the ghostly trio attack James, chasing him around the house, using their supernatural powers to creatively terrify him. In a standout sequence, James stares into a mirror, and the ghosts transform his face into other people's. James looks up from the sink, and he suddenly looks like Clint Eastwood. Then his face morphs, and he looks like Rodney Dangerfield. Then he morphs again to look like Mel Gibson. Finally, and most terrifying, he morphs to look like the...

As horrifying as it would be in real life, body-swapping films are some of the most hilarious productions. At some point, everyone has imagined what their lives would be like if they switched places with someone more fortunate, especially when they're struggling. From Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan's Freaky Friday to Regina Hall and Marsai Martin's Little, waking up in someone else's body would be haunting, but watching it on screen is pure comedy. The latest swap film comes from Aziz Ansari, who also stars in the movie and wrote, produced, and directed it. Good Fortune is the name, and Keanu Reeves is the angel sent to teach a lesson to Ansari's character Arj that the grass isn't always greener on the other side, as he switches bodies with Seth Rogen's Jeff.

It's one of the best-selling singles of all time, and almost three decades after it first hit the radio, it's climbing the charts again. "Iris," the Goo Goo Dolls' blockbuster 1998 ballad, is currently at #21 on Spotify's global streaming charts. The song, which became a worldwide hit when it was featured in the 1998 Nicolas Cage-Meg Ryan supernatural romance City of Angels, has been steadily climbing the streaming rankings since it entered the top 100 in February.
City of Angels, a loose remake of Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire, had a star-studded soundtrack; in addition to the Goo Goo Dolls, it also featured Alanis Morissette, U2, and Peter Gabriel, but nothing on the soundtrack, or the movie itself, had a bigger impact than "Iris." The song was written for the film by Goo Goo Dolls frontman John Rzeznik, and takes the viewpoint of the movie's lead character, an angel who becomes mortal...

Actor and stuntman Bob Elmore, best known for portraying the iconic Leatherface character in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, has died. Bloody Disgusting has reported on Elmore's death, but no additional details, such as a possible cause, have been revealed.
Released in 1986, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 was the only sequel in the franchise to be directed by Tobe Hooper, who also helmed the original film released in 1974. The role of Leatherface, played by the late Gunnar Hansen in the first film, was taken over by Elmore, though Bill Johnson and Tom Morga also filled in for certain shots.
The sequel generated a cult following and remains a favorite for many horror fans after almost four decades. Elmore became a favorite for people to meet at fan conventions, becoming well known on the fan con circuit. The actor himself had previously expressed how he was in awe that the movie...

2025 marks the 39th anniversary of the release of director Tobe Hooper‘s sequel to his 1974 classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a sequel appropriately titled The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (get it Here)… and sadly, we’ve just lost one of the film’s biggest contributors: stuntman Bob Elmore. While Bill Johnson is the primary actor credited with playing Leatherface in that movie, he had an aversion to acting out moments of violence – so whenever a scene required the chainsaw-wielding killer Leatherface to do something violent, Elmore would step in to play the character. So if you’ve ever enjoyed the performance of Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, that was due to the combined efforts of Johnson and Elmore.
Elmore’s passing was confirmed on social media by his wife, Murley Elmore, who wrote: “It is with sadness that I share the Homegoing of Leatherface, TCM2. Bob Elmore was...

Bob Elmore, a stuntman who’s best known for playing Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2, has passed away.
“Just to be recognized for working in this little, itty bitty movie that brought pleasure to so many people — and there’s some people that really, really, really enjoyed it,” Elmore said of his iconic role in a 2016 interview from Scream Factory’s Blu-ray release.
“I don’t understand. I don’t have that passion for that kind of movie, but there’s a lot. And it’s worldwide, it’s not here in the United States. People in Germany love Texas Chainsaw Part 2. They just love it, and they’re crazy about it. That’s what is so unique about it, and to be associated with that is great. Not too many people can say that.”
He also performed stunts in the horror cult classics The Monster Squad and Dr. Giggles.

When you think of songs written specifically for movies, you probably think of one of two things. First, songs from borderline-or-full-blown musicals that then became huge in their own right, like “Shallow” from A Star Is Born or “The One That I Want” from Grease. The other is god-awful songs about whatever’s happening in some terrible movie that are usually a lowlight of an artist’s catalogue, like Eminem’s “Venom.”
Occasionally, though, a song that was meant to serve as a complement to a movie becomes an unmitigated success in its own right, sometimes even eclipsing the lasting power of the movie itself.
Here are 11 legitimate hit songs you might not realize were written for a movie…

Nicolas Cage is continuing to expand his wild filmography by dipping his toes into the western genre. But, it wouldn't be a Nic Cage movie without the actor either delivering one of the most groundbreaking, emotional performances of his life, or one of the most bonkers caricatures you've ever seen. For his new, wild western, Gunslingers, Cage has characteristically chosen the latter.
The first trailer for Gunslingers has now been unleashed, and it's safe to say that Cage is a certified scene-stealer once again. The film is written and directed by Brian Skiba (Guns of Redemption) and is set to be released on April 11. Cage plays mad genius Ben, who is guided to a town named Redemption to confront their violent histories. The official synopsis reads:

This is the second in a series of short essays considering film restorations from the past year.Hollywood 90028.As the Palisades and Eaton Fires raged this month, photos and videos of the Hollywood sign in flames went viral. Before these images were identified as AI-generated misinformation, many took them as an appropriately bombastic symbol of a beleaguered industry. It’s true that the milk-and-honey capital of American cinema has curdled in recent years, accelerated in part by fallout from the pandemic, back-to-back labor strikes, the burst streaming bubble, and now the yet-to-be-tallied damage from the ongoing wildfires. It’s not the first time seismic changes have forced a reconfiguration of Hollywood, but there’s undoubtedly a sense of despair that’s unique to this moment. We look to history to parse where we are and where we’re going, which makes this past year’s restoration of Christina Hornisher’s...

The following contains mild spoilers for "Companion."
"Companion" is the first big surprise of the movie year, a funny, thrilling film with a great cast and an even better twist. As Chris Evangelista wrote in his review for /Film, "'Companion' is the first great film of 2025 — a funny, fast-moving, meticulously crafted horror-thriller with a killer performance from lead Sophie Thatcher."
The film follows Iris (Thatcher), who goes on a weekend getaway trip with her boyfriend Josh (Jack Quaid) to visit a group of his friends at a remote cabin that quickly turns into a chaotic bloodbath. The film also stars Lukas Gage, Harvey Guillén, Megan Suri, and Ruper Friend.
This is a notoriously hard movie to talk about without talking about its premise and the first-act twist, which the second trailer already openly revealed. Still, if you don't want to know anything about what "Companion" is actually about,...

What began as a pandemic-era writing exercise is now Companion, Drew Hancock’s widely acclaimed feature directorial debut.
Feeling unfulfilled by the sitcom-heavy direction his career was going, Hancock admitted some hard truths to himself during the dregs of 2020. So the Omaha, Nebraska native decided to write his way out of his lot at the time by crafting a genre feature that he could use as a writing sample to land other related work. That screenplay became Companion, and feeling confident in what he’d committed to paper, the filmmaker decided to send the script to a mutual friend of BoulderLight Pictures’ J.D. Lifshitz.
Riding high on their recent producorial success of Zach Cregger’s Barbarian, Lifshitz and his producing partner Raphael Margules were so impressed by Hancock’s script that they brought it to the rest of the Barbarian brain trust including Vertigo’s Roy Lee and Cregger himself.

We love L.A. Randy Newman famously gave us the melody for that phrase. For more than 100 years, Los Angeles has been the entertainment capital of the world — a city of dreamers, creators and innovators. But now, our city needs help.
As someone who works in this industry, I’ve seen first-hand the impact of our community’s creativity and resilience. But recently, we all experienced something that shook us to our core. While I was out of the country shooting in Ireland, I felt helpless as my family back in Los Angeles was caught between two raging wildfires, evacuating with so many others as we waited to find out if our home was still standing. Mercifully, it was, but countless dear friends wound up losing everything. Entire communities were reduced to ash, along with the homes, dreams and life’s work of thousands.

Despite having no real winter weather to speak of, living in Los Angeles often feels like looking out at the rest of the world from the inside of a snow globe.
In January 2025, L.A.’s happy little enclosure for controlled dream-making — the idyllic hometown for legendary A-list celebrities like Dustin Hoffman, Barbie, and the Santa Monica Ferris Wheel — filled with smoke and fire. Dangerous winds that spread the emergency event haven’t stopped blowing yet, but so far, they’ve left the promise of months, maybe even years, of disaster recovery ahead.
The comfortable climate of Southern California usually provides ideal conditions for filming. This has long made the city a prime shooting location and has inspired thousands — even millions — of starry-eyed dreamers to move here from other cities.
Pleasant weather and railroads essential to trade a century ago played key parts in helping Hollywood emerge as the premiere destination for the entertainment industry.

Remakes tend to make fans nervous more often than not, and James Gunn understands this very well. The director was responsible for helming the script of the Dawn of the Dead remake, which was directed by Zack Snyder. Owing to this, the Guardians of the Galaxy director opened up about how remakes make fans of the original cynical, and why he understands this sentiment pretty well.

There’s an entire subgenre of modern crime movies you might call “Heat Rashes” — those heist thrillers that worship at the altar of Michael Mann’s 1995 stone-cold classic. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and the best and most admiring of these Mann-handlers is, by a huge margin, 2018’s Den of Thieves. In the De Niro corner, you’ve got Pablo Schreiber as the leader of a bank-robbery crew who’s dreaming the impossible dream: ripping off the Federal Reserve in Los Angeles. Taking on the Pacino role, Gerard Butler...

Mash's Wayne Rogers exited the show early and went on to front his own medical comedy - a hit show that was quickly ruined by a disastrous firing. Wayne Rogers left Mash after season three, largely due to his role being gradually reduced. When the star signed on, the sitcom was intended as a two-hander focused on Rogers' Trapper John and Alan Alda's Hawkeye. When it became clear Alda was the breakout star, the writers focused their attention on him, while Trapper increasingly became the sidekick.
Following the shock death of Henry Blake in Mash's season 3 finale, Rogers decided to leave before the fourth series. Love stories have been a part of movie history since the first motion pictures, and while it is always nice to see the loving couple live happily ever after, sometimes romance movies with sad endings can be even more effective. Movies in which romance still ends in tragedy provide an emotional catharsis for the audience and help to remind the viewers of the love that goes on. The movie is about the journey, not necessarily the endpoint.
Since Romeo and Juliet and all its adaptations, this has been a common storytelling device and there are a number of movies that use it brilliantly. In some cases, the two characters are driven apart by society and unable to follow their hearts. Other movies present a difficult choice for these couples to make. And there are also those love stories where fate intervenes in a heartbreaking way. Whatever the case, these romance...

Few films have managed to do what Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick did. Even though Top Gun was released decades before the 2022 film came around, it managed to outshine the original’s success, not only earning an Academy Award nomination but also finding a timeless place in popular culture.

One of the main reasons for the project’s success was that it brought back actors who were key players in the 1986 film. With this, one cannot help but wonder why Meg Ryan wasn’t among them, even though it could have done a lot for both, the film, and her professional life.
During an interview, the director of the film, Joseph Kosinski, revealed the reason why some actors from the past weren’t brought back, and the answer is quite unfortunate for Ryan.

Well, life imitates art far more than art imitates life, and it looks like Jeremy Allen White is taking that to heart—perhaps a little too literally. On Wednesday, September 25, he was seen sharing a passionate kiss with his The Bear co-star Molly Gordon in the City of Angels. Needless to say, this unexpected public display of affection has everyone buzzing. Adding even more drama to the mix, it happened to be the very same day that Rosalía, who was previously romantically linked to White, celebrated her 32nd birthday.

A handful of generations have no idea who Christopher Reeve was. The emotionally charged Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story examines the life of a Hollywood icon and the lasting impact of tragically pulling back the curtain during the dawn of the internet age.
Reeve played the “Man of Steel” from 1978 to 1987, starring in four Superman films. This was before special effects were perfected—when an actor’s presence had to hold your attention through a superhero film. Reeve was invincible to his adoring fans—a man who seemed unbreakable.
That all changed in May 1995, as the documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story attests. Reeve suffered a broken neck and a cervical spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed for nearly a decade before his untimely death at the age of 52.

The latest film adaptation of the graphic novel “The Crow” is struggling financially in theaters. Directed by Rupert Sanders and starring Bill Skarsgård, the $50 million production has grossed only $18.5 million worldwide over its first two weeks.
This performance fails to meet initial projections of $6-9 million for its opening weekend. Domestic earnings placed it in eighth place and far below the original 1994 film starring Brandon Lee. That version debuted with $11.7 million, equivalent to $35.5 million today, on its way to $94 million globally.
Since then, returns for “The Crow” have dropped sharply. The film averaged just $59 per theater in its second week, suggesting difficulties surpassing even the franchise’s previous lowest earnings. That came from 1996’s “City of Angels,” which made $25.3 million total.
Critical reviews for the remake have been mostly negative at 23% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, audience scores remain relatively positive at 64%. This gap implies dedicated fans may still enjoy the film on streaming.
This performance fails to meet initial projections of $6-9 million for its opening weekend. Domestic earnings placed it in eighth place and far below the original 1994 film starring Brandon Lee. That version debuted with $11.7 million, equivalent to $35.5 million today, on its way to $94 million globally.

“What we need is a hot, fresh, dead body. Preferably right here or very near to here.”
When last we checked in with Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez), the podcasting detective trio of “Only Murders in the Building,” the Season 3 finale revealed Cliff (Wesley Taylor) as the murderer of Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd). The loyal residents of the seemingly cursed Arconia in New York City were set to celebrate solving another murder in their building. Then Charles’ longtime stunt double and friend, Sazz (Jane Lynch), was shot by an unknown suspect after entering Charles’ apartment in search of an expensive wine.
The cliffhanger ending left the trio in a state of suspense, with Sazz’s well-being unknown and the Hulu series audience left guessing about whether Charles was the intended target.
Yes, a possible new murder struck the Arconia yet again. But that’s just...

You can’t keep “The Crow” down. That’s kind of its whole thing. Naturally, the concept of the wronged dead who return from their grave seeking vengeance — inspired by James O’Barr’s comics of the same name — has sprung forth a franchise, which spans five total films since Alex Proyas’ iconic, stylish film debuted in 1994. The original film remains a heartbreaking watch after the tragic on-set death of star Brandon Lee, but it also holds up as a stunning, massively influential goth rock urban fantasy — not to mention an early comic book adaptation.
The rest of the “The Crow” movies? Well, they’re not quite so enduring, despite a steady stream of familiar faces in the casts, including Kirsten Dunst, Edward Furlong, Mia Kirschner, Fred Ward, David Boreanaz and now, Bill Skarsgard and FKA Twigs in the long-awaited remake.

The sequel to The Crow 2024 should revisit the original sequel pitch The Bride for a fresh direction. Previous Crow sequels played it safe and failed to match the iconic original. The upcoming Crow remake and potential sequels should explore new ideas and lead characters.
A Crow sequel should only happen if it follows an abandoned concept from the original franchise. The Crow graphic novel was created by James O'Barr in response to the devastating loss of his fiance, and it didn't take long for producers to acquire the movie rights. After everyone from Michael Jackson to Christian Slater were considered, Brandon Lee signed on for the titular role of a man rising from the grave to avenge his and his fiance's murders. Tragically, Lee himself was killed during production, with the resulting film dedicated to his memory.

The first issue of James O'Barr's comic book "The Crow" was initially published in February 1989, and it joined the ranks of a growing contingent of broody, Goth-friendly comics that spoke to a growing cultural obsession with death and angst. The story of "The Crow" is incredibly bleak. A young man named Eric and his fiancée Shelley are attacked in an alleyway by a random group of thugs. Eric is shot in the head and left paralyzed, while Shelley is assaulted, beaten, and murdered. Eric later succumbs to his wounds and dies at the hospital.
An invisible mystical crow, however, finds Eric's soul in the afterlife a year later, and returns it to his body, resurrecting him. Eric is more or less a zombie and can be wounded without dying. He also becomes an introspective poet, often quoting Rimbeau and even Joy Division lyrics. He instantly became the poster boy for broody Goths everywhere,...

The new films, such as Skincare, can sometimes be downright Hitchcockian. It is a contemporary thriller with more on its mind than most regarding social media and the vain narcissism that grows like a garden of invasive and unwanted weeds. Clever, suspenseful, and surprising, Skincare is a gripping tale of obsession that hits close to home.

One of the most successful crime shows ever written has been Law and Order. Still running after 23 seasons, it led to numerous spin-offs, two of which were renewed this year: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Organized Crime. But the creator of the show, Dick Wolf, never rested on his laurels. He created more award-winning drama shows, such as the Chicago series, FBI, and more. But the acclaimed producer also dipped his toe in a different pool: true crime. Hence, the new Netflix miniseries Homicide was born.
