My favorite scenes were when Ace captured Quinn, and 'tormented' him by trying to make him talk about the whereabouts of the white bat.
And who can forget seeing Jim Carrey driving a monster truck shouting, "Nobody wants to play with me"! And a lot of other scenes that I can't describe because it was all funny! Other Carrey fans might agree too if they had seen all his movies!
Give Ace Ventura parts 1 and 2 a chance! Those movies deserve to be watched, unless of course you don't like comedies! ;) And I completely understand why some people wouldn't like him or his humor and that's fine with me. Heck, Jim Carrey is so popular, that during the theatrical releases of some of his earlier movies later on became animated series for the younger generation of fans! A great movie to watch with family, friends, and fellow Jim Carrey fans! I give both Ace Ventura movies 4 stars!
If you can stomach at all Carrey's unfiltered shenanigans where subtlety is the greatest sin then this passes the time pleasantly but forgettable, good for weekday night or maybe just killing time on a Saturday morning with your poptarts.
The mystery is enjoyable enough and well thought through enough, the animal presence is impeccable and I love the local color.
I didn't get the impression of it being too culturally insensitive.
There isn't really a character arc but you wouldn't really want one. Ventura helps forgive himself for something so there is that.
I'm glad that no characters other than him return.
I thought the scene where Ace is trapped inside the animatronic rhino was the funniest scene in the movie, but the film is filled with other great scenes too. I also loved the fact that he is a lover of all animals, except Bats. I thought that was such a funny idea for the character. I mean, what does that say about bats if a lover of all animals can't even stand them and finds them revolting. Just thinking about it makes me laugh. I just love the irony I guess. Anyhow, there isn't much more I can say about this film other than if you liked "Pet Detective", you should see "When Nature Calls". "Bumble-Bee Tuna",

This movie is directed by Steve Oedekerk (Nothing to Lose) and stars Jim Carey (The Mask), Ian McNeice (Valkyrie), Bob Gunton (The Shawshank Redemption), Tommy Davidson (In Living Color), Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda) and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Suicide Squad).
The storyline for this picture isn't as fun as the first film but it's still entertaining. You also lose some of the magic of discovering the Ace Ventura character for the first time. However, there's still plenty of hilarious sequences. The Monopoly guy, mechanical rhino 🦏 and Tommy Davidson fight will always be legendary. Jim Carey still delivers an amazing character and his facial expressions, mannerisms, one-liners and reactions to circumstances are fun. Ace Ventura will always be an all time great Jim Carey character.
Overall, this isn't as good as the first one, but is still worth a watch. I would score this a 8/10 and strongly recommend it.

- WissenswertesWhen driving to the consulate for the first time, Jim Carrey forgot his lines, so instead started singing the theme from the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Both actors stayed in character and the director loved it so they kept it in.
- PatzerWhen Ace is drumming on the tree fungi one is knocked off and the metal rod that was used to attach it to the tree is visible.
- Zitate
Ace: That's quite a wrap you're wearing! Perhaps I could get you some fluffy new slippers made from the heads of innocent and defenseless baby seals!
Skinny Husband: Who is this ghastly man?
Ace: Ace Ventura, pet detective. And YOU must be the Monopoly guy! Hey.
[whispering]
Ace: Thanks for the free parking.
Pompous woman: Another ACTIVIST, McGuire.
Skinny Husband: Activist, yes.
[snobby laugh]
Ace: [imitating him] Activist, yes, mhmhmhmhmhmhmhmhm!
Pompous woman: Mr. Ventura, there is nothing wrong with enjoying the fruits of nature. You should try it sometime.
Ace: Alrighty then!
[smacks man in the face which knocks him unconscious, drapes him over his shoulders and begins to sing and dance exotically]
Ace: [shakes man] Do not pass go! Do not collect $200!
[hands back man to pompous woman]
Ace: It's lovely, but I fancy myself an autumn!
- Alternative VersionenOne minute and thirty five seconds were cut from the theatrical version to get a PG certificate in the UK. A further three seconds where also cut to get a PG for the video release. These cuts remove a lot of the "crude humour". The cuts are as follows:
- The raccoon rescue is edited, mostly cutting shots of the clearly distressed animal.
- The scene of Ace casting shadows on the projector slide has been edited so that his shadow is going after Gahjii's neck instead of his groin.
- Ace's line "Excuse me. Your balls are showing! Bumble bee tuna!"
- Ace's snorting in the hut has been reduced.
- Likewise, when everyone is exiting the hut in hysterics, the shot cuts away earlier due to the graphic details.
- The shot of Ace masturbating is missing.
- When Ace is lecturing Quinn, the shot of Ace prodding his eyeball has been reduced. This could be due to strong language and/or imitable technique.
- After removing an apple core from the tribesman, Ace pushing the baby out of the mother's tummy is missing, as well as the shot of the father catching the baby.
- The Warrior stomping on Ace's crotch and ripping the spears out of his legs.
