According to Variety, Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26, a new anthology anime series based on eight short stories by Chainsaw Man creator Tatsuki Fujimoto, has recently been announced and will be exclusively available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. This now guarantees a likely increase in the platform’s subscription sales, putting it in competition with Crunchyroll and Netflix.

The adaptation will comprise eight short stories that Fujimoto wrote between the ages of 17 and 26. The anime is scheduled to release on Amazon Prime Video starting November 7, 2025.

For everything great about anime as a medium, there’s always some unnecessary fanservice bringing down the overall perception. From One Piece to Dandadan, some of the best anime series are guilty of inappropriate portrayal of their female cast. And a huge part of the fanservice problem can be solved if only the anime industry kept the underage characters out of the fanservice shtick.

Fanservice, if done right, can enhance the storytelling or become an integral part of it. Moreover, there are better ways to portray such situations. For instance, anime series like Chainsaw Man and Neon Genesis Evangelion make the suggestive scenes relevant to the plot. And the portrayal is self-aware and highlights the problematic aspects quite well. With that said, underage characters should still be off-limits.

What elevates the "Spider-Verse" films above from other multiverse superhero movies is how they use the multiverse premise in formal ways; different universes have different animation styles and color palettes. One of the more offbeat Spider-People in "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" was Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn), who hails from an anime universe. Toho’s Shin Godzilla is stomping into theaters next month with a brand new 4K remaster courtesy of Gkids, and they’ve released a stunning new trailer for the release.

Look for Shin Godzilla in theaters on August 14, with a home release to follow.
