Gopi Kishan

I am a little surprised by all of the rave reviews. Gopi kishen falls in line with the majority of mediocre 90s movies and checks off a lot boxes - flowerpot heroine, good songs, a bit of action, some comedy and a dash of romance. I would say that the most memorable thing about this one are the songs. The soundtrack has enjoyed a long shelf-life. Karisma isnt given much to do aside from look pretty and dance. We barely know her name in this movie. Shilpa, on the other hand has the stronger character but only one or two songs. Sunil goven a great opportunity to show his acting skills. Gets boring in the last hour when they are trying to wrap up.

But thanks to several portions which are damn funny it becomes a nice fun even the revenge bit is well handled Climax is nice

Direction is good Music is good, especially HAI HUKU

Suneil brings a nice diversity in both roles, though his voice modulation is bad at times, he acts well in both roles one of his funniest performances He is good as Kishan too

Shilpa Shirodkar and Karisma fill the bill though Shilpa is annoying at places

Suresh Oberoi is good Aruna Irani, Mohan Joshi are typecast

Suniel shetty shows his class of verstyle earlier he did a great job in this movie with a great comic role. Super acting , great story and famous songs made this movie a super hit and suniel shetty well known came as a super star . He given 4 super hits in 1994

Gopinath(Sunil Shetty) is a naive and timid constable who is ridiculed by his wife chandha(shilpa shirodhkar) and son tinku. Kishan(Sunil Shetty) is a convict released from prison recently. He wants to become a police officer but due to his criminal background he is refused of the job. One day gopi's colleagues see kishan misunderstanding him as gopi and takes for a mission. Kishan successfully beats and arrests those criminals. After, it gopi is in the top of the world as a daring cop. While kishan fights criminals, gopi gets the credit. Kishan's mission is to find his dad Suresh oberoi who is working as a don with sawant and eliminate the drug mafia. Rest of the film is how gopi and kishan are related. The highlight is sunil shetty as gopi. It was the first time, he played a comic character. It might be over the top for some people but I enjoyed his goofy antics. As kishan he is the routine action hero. Another highlight is the performance of the child actor tinku where his line mere do baap are hilarious. Both karishma kapoor and shilpa shirodhkar were good as heroines. Suresh oberoi, mohan joshi and aruna irani were adequate. On the whole, gopi kishan is a very entertaining comedy action film. Watch it for sunil shetty as gopi.
