The Ferrari F40 and Lamborghini Countach in the film are in fact kit cars built on Pontiac Fiero shells. This is especially obvious in any of the interior and profile shots of the F40, which has a much shorter wheelbase than the real one. However, the two cars are over-dubbed with the correct engine notes.
During the shooting of the scene when Santee sets alight the gunman with a paint sprayer, Dolph Lundgren was so shocked by the sight of Andy Armstrong in flames that it delayed his timing for the rest of the shot. As a result, Armstrong got more than a little singed.
A majority of the film's budget was raised through foreign sales deals, thanks to Dolph Lundgren's popularity overseas at the time.
The slime that Santee is rubbing on Rita during their love scene is actually aloe oil, which eases sunburn.
