Great Canadian series! I have watched the entire series three times, and two of the movies. Looking forward to seeing the other three movies. I rate this with that great show The Beachcombers.
I personally love North of 60 it is dramatic, but is funny at times and it deals with real situations that happen on dene reserves.
I believe that this is a truly entertaining program and that if you haven't checked out this series that is now in syndication you don't know what you are missing.
This cast is extraordinary and the show deserves the praise that it does.
This show was filmed in Bragg Creek, Alberta and the scenery is breathtaking
I have learned a lot about the dene people through the program and I think it deserves 5 stars *****

I haven't seen this for many years. I live in ND and we used to get one Winnipeg channel here (CBC). I recorded the series and I think I've seen every episode. Last I checked they didn't even have it on DVD. I wish there was a way to see it because it's a very good and unique drama about people in the far north of Canada.
I'm actually from the United States and happened upon the show while watching some Canadian television on CBC. I loved the show right from the start. I had never seen a Native series on television before and this show was captivating. You could relate to all the characters in one way or another, it didn't always feel like just a Native show. The characters had problems that we all have, they went through experiences we all eventually go through and it was just well put together. I've seen all the episodes repeatedly and even though the show has been off for years, but continues through made for TV movies I still hunger for more North of 60!

I learned about our native communities across Canada.
During my career in the mining industry, I visit & meet native leaders & thankfully learn beyond my profession; tradition, respect for the land
I want this series to return with an updated format; to challenge our youngsters & have them ask questions; for us to question federal liberal wasteful spending & denial; to show an accomplished proud people & to bring to the fore...land claims.
Where is producer Wayne Grigsby when you need him ??
I am so saddened that no upcoming native producers, directors with all the cinema teck available cannot run a limited series even on YouTube, to include some of the original actors in cameo appearances to get the investment community interested ! Float a cinema investment/bond issue for all Canadians.

- WissenswertesOne of the first Canadian TV series to bring up the topic of residential schools. Residential schools for indigenous Canadian children, often religious schools in nature, existed well into the mid 1990's, and were often breeding grounds for abuse and cultural erasure. On June 11th, 2008, Canada's Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, publicly apologized to Canada's Indigenous Peoples for the IRS system, admitting that residential schools were part of a Canadian policy on forced Indigenous assimilation.
