Playboy: Wet & Wild IV

Have you wondered why birds fly south for winter? You thought it was for warmth, didn't you? But how wrong, how...TERRIBLY wrong. This opus starts off with 'nautical but nice' with three playmates on a boat at sea. So there's one reason. Scientists don't know how they navigate but they think birds get used to landmarks. So every season it's the same thing. Left at Calais, turn right at the Hollywood sign and then turn left again when they see the naked playmates with their legs spread on the deck of that boat.

A further scene takes place in a library. A young lady is at a desk opposite a freshman. She leaps on the desk and strips down to red lingerie. She does splits on the desk then jumps to the floor, dances naked for a few minutes then takes the rest of her clothes off and gets drenched with water from the water cooler. In my country you only have to pay a small fine if you're late back with a book.

As the 'Wet & Wild' series continued some things changed for the better. Narrator, light storied segments still bring the wetness, but 'IV' gets a big boost in nudity. That combined with Playboy's production values, good camera work means a welcomed step up here from past entries.

Getting off on a good foot is another unique intro that doubles as an actual scene instead of a standard clip montage. Hot Playmates (Tanya Beyer, Corinna Harney, Wendy Hamilton) get nude / wet in a warehouse with quite a few pleasant sights in the mix (3 mins). "Nautical But Nice" with ladies (Cady Cantrell, Julie Clark, Cristy Thom) gets right down to naked sights on a yacht (3 mins). "Reflections" keeps the goodness going as ladies (Brittany York, Samantha Dorman, Morgan Fox, Rebecca Ferratti) nude from the start get wet (3 mins).

"Social Studies" is a theme Playboy was fond of - library leading to naked sights - here supplied by Playmate Tanya Beyer. However after three good parts this has too much setup, wasted time, shots. Tanya looks great in a red bra, panties and then naked, even wet as the dude feels her up, but they could have easily shaved a minute or two off and it would have been better (6 mins). "Fluid Forms" is four Playmates (Brittany, Samantha, Morgan, Rebecca) posing in artsy wall shapes. A simple idea, but closeups, certain poses make it a winner (3.5 mins). "Sun-Kissed" gets right to business as ladies (Corinna, Brittany, Angela Melini) show up naked in and outside a house. Another simple premise but again great sights especially from Corinna (3.5 mins).

"Wavelengths" features a great lady (Wendy Hamilton) but is largely a bore. A romantic boy/girl element at the beach that only has a few good shots (3.5 mins). "Wet Side Story" tells you the idea with a play on words. It's one of those fancy dance numbers Playboy was fond of doing sometimes in their videos. What they didn't seem to understand is viewers want naked ladies. Not shot after shot of choreographed dancers, throwback setups to olden times. Naturally there's views of lovely Playmates (Rebecca, Tanya) wet naked in an alley or on top of a car, but these moments are tiny compared to the rest (8 mins!).

"Water Babe" is Corinna shown nude right away but in B&W before thankfully it turns back to color. Easy pace as she gets wet, but also short (2 mins). "White Rain" has three of them (Corinna, Tanya, Wendy) as the white motif goes into overdrive. White bed, sheets, Wendy tied up in ropes as focus turns to getting wet. Some fantastic closeups here (3.5 mins). "The Wild Side" has three PMs (Corinna, Brittany, Angela) poolside get out of black dresses, lingerie nicely at night (3.5 mins).

"Rendezvous" has a little build-up centered around beach cocktails, vacation in the sand. Also a tiny boy/girl element though largely solo posing with ladies (Julie Clark, Wendy Kaye, Amanda Hope) looking fine though not enough nude shots (3 mins). "Swept Away" another night scene sees ladies (Wendy K, Julie, Wendy H, Amanda) at the beach. Like the previous, Julie gets the best exposure, shots overall (3 mins). "Nautical But Nicer" keeps a concept that 'Wet & Wild III' had too where they'd revisit earlier scene to end things. Here the same ladies (Cady, Julie, Cristy) pick up some stranded dudes on a lifeboat and then the drinks flow onboard the yacht. There's some lite making out with the dudes, but it's the solo shots that will wet your appetite (3 mins).

The first three titles in the 'Wet & Wild' series are dated, a bit dull and very up & down. So good news is they hit their stride with 'IV'. This is a very pleasing entry with a lot to like plus some very fine Playmates on hand. Sucks that the next entry 'V' would dip again in quality.
