This film was produced without the knowledge or consent of the international offices of the Coca-Cola Company. However, since both the company and its product were depicted so favorably in the film (as well as the film being free advertising), they took no legal action against the parties involved.
From working on this picture, actress Greta Scacchi and singer-songwriter Tim Finn formed a personal relationship, which went for around six years.
For the UK VHS release, the actual Coca-Cola logo was used as the film's title font on the sleeve packaging.
In a 2008 interview, Greta Scacchi said she spent most of her early acting career playing femmes fatales and taking her clothes off on screen in this and other films because they were demanded by the script as necessary and by the box office to attract audiences. Also, if she had said no, she wouldn't have worked. If she wanted to be cast, she had to strip naked. It was the nature of the industry.
