This movie was made a half-decade too late; it would have been perfect before movies like 'Porky's' and 'Zapped' raised the bar... I was watching for Veronica Hart, back in her redhead days, and she still comes off as the smartest, most capable actress in the room. Alas, the film's an hour-and-a-half of naughty one-liners that would be perfect if Reader's Digest ever had an adult-rated "Laughter is the Best Medicine". In fact, the best way to describe the movie is to imagine the cast of "Boogie Nights" attempting to make a mainstream movie (as in no hardcore). That's about as good and as bad as it gets. It attempts to bring a sense of burlesque back to motion pictures, but with nothing that really pulls the audience in. The jokes wouldn't past muster on a Fox sitcom, the plot's thin as a thong, and the performances are community theater level. You could argue that the film has some historical value, but RSVP is really only for hardcore fans (so to speak)... 2/10
A very funny and sexy film. It really is worth owning Linda Weismeier is just a goddess. She is so hot. Too bad she can't act, because she sure was a hottie. The chinese guy is hilarious, and makes the movie definately worth watching. "He's going to get $97.50 to help him pull it off." Hysterical!!

I found this movie as a bonus feature on the DVD of "Preppies" (German release). The quality was pretty crappy but still watchable. And I was surprised that this movie is way funnier than the other movie!
The film starts with a crime scene at a pool, but as soon as we change the location to a courtroom (kinda) and a bunch of party people starting to explain what happened. And from here on (as a flashback) it is just a big party of Hollywood producers and we get from one funny scene to another.
And there are a lot of beautiful women, who all get undressed one way or the other. Besides a lot of boobs we also get a few full frontal nudity shots. Nothing goes really hardcore here, but it could bother some people. Just keep in mind, that this is a Playboy Channel production, so this could be expected.
I had a really fun time with this, the jokes are really good and I was laughing a lot. The image quality wasn't the best, I think they just used an old VHS rip. The complete movie was dubbed in German and it was good translation (although a few jokes were not working with the German language... for example the name of one character is Bill and the Chinese food delivery boy wanted the bill to be paid - and that made for some really damn funny mix-ups, but in German the word for "bill" is completely different).
Another thing that might bother some people is, that all female characters seem to be pretty stupid. And I mean reeeally stupid. Back in the day it might have been funny, but this is outdated. If you turn your brains off (like I did), this is still laughable. But keep in mind, this is an old fashioned sex comedy.

A frivolous, lively and very funny comedy that aims to entertain rather than educate. It definitely succeeded in doing that for me. The jokes are beautifully shrill and the fact that many of the actors had an affinity with the adult industry makes the film all the more authentic.
Some of the characters seem a little clumsy and stupid, but surprise us every now and then with their shrewdness. The movie is from the mid-1980s and therefore absolutely not politically correct - which is of course very 'regrettable'. For example, the older lesbian is portrayed very stereotypically - and very convincingly, by the way - by Judith Cassmore, but is also clearly intellectually and morally superior to a number of horny male characters.
And yes: many of the actresses are real eye-catchers, but so are some of the male ones - in my opinion, the movie is not at all superficial and is very well-balanced here too.
The German version has been masterfully dubbed and is absolutely recommendable,
